The expressway of the Korea has an important role in freight movement because 76 percent of the commodity is transported by trucks. However, there has been few indices on the role of expressways regarding freight transportation and truck traffic. The objective of this study is to propose four freight transportation related indices using ITS-related system such as TCS and HS-Wim: total truck's travel miles ($veh{\cdot}km/year$), total freight transport miles ($ton{\cdot}km/year$). efficiency of truck's travel ($veh{\cdot}km/km$), and efficiency of freight movement ($ton{\cdot}km/km$). These truck and freight related indices were estimated and compared by two different data sources: traffic volume data using VDS and OD data using TCS. These indices were designed to estimated on real time and updated every day and month.

Path travel time based on departure time (PTTDP) is key information in advanced traveler information systems (ATIS). Despite the necessity, forecasting PTTDP is still one of challenges which should be successfully conquered in the forecasting area of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). To address this problem effectively, a methodology to dynamically predict PTTDP between motorway interchanges is proposed in this paper. The method was developed based on the relationships between traffic demands at motorway tollgates and PTTDPs between TGs in the motorway network. Two different data were used as the input of the model: traffic demand data and path travel time data are collected by toll collection system (TCS) and dedicated short range communication (DSRC), respectively. The proposed model was developed based on k-nearest neighbor, one of data mining techniques, in order for the real applications of motorway information systems. In a feasible test with real-world data, the proposed method performed effectively by means of prediction reliability and computational running time to the level of real application of current ATIS.
A sensitive and simple analytical system for the simultaneous determination of residual oxytetracycline, tetracycline, and doxycycline in honey was described, and that the analytical method for determination of residual propionic acid in honey was established. Experimental subjects were purchased four kinds of honey, native kind honey, acaccia honey, mixed floral honey, chestnut honey in Kyung Sang Nam Do. Several microbiological methods are available to determine tetracycline antibiotecs(TCs) in foods but their precision apears to be variable and the specificity is questionable. These methods are considered to be not suitable for analysis of tetracycline antibiotics in honey because honey itself has bacteriostatic action. For determination of tetracycline antibiotics in honey, therefore the High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) method was applied, and the propionic acid were determined by Gas Chromatography(5.C). Ethylacetate, as an extract solvent, was found to be suitable for seperation of TCs in honey, but methanol and acetone were not. The recoverly rate of Oxytetracycline(OTC), Tetracycline(TC), Doxycycline(DC) from honey spiked at a level of 10 $\mu $g/g were 97%, 89%, and 91%, respectively. The cailbration curve in TCs was linear expression from 2$\mu $g/ml to 10$\mu $g/ml. As the results of analysis, the residual tetracycline antibiotics were not detected in the 100 samples of honey. The recovery rate of propionic acid from honey spiked at level of 10$\mu $g/g was 98.3% , and the calibra lion curves were linear expression from 21$\mu $g/ml to 101$\mu $g/ml. As the results of analysis, the residual propionic acid was not detected in the 100 samples of honey. Retention time(min) of OTC, DC, and TC were 3.35, 4.61, and 5.30 minutes at the conditions of table 2, respectively, and retention time(min) of propionic acid was 3.50 minutes at the conditions of table 3. The residual TCs and propionic acid were not detected in the 100 samples of honey, but there is a possibility that antibiotics or propionic acid will be to remain in honey if they are used during product period in order to prevent putrefaction of honey-bee.
This study analyzes the characteristics of Western North Pacific (WNP) tropical cyclone (TC) activity and large-scale environments according to the Western Pacific (WP) teleconnection pattern in summer. In the positive WP phase, an anomalous cyclone and an anomalous anticyclone develop in the low and middle latitudes of the East Asia, respectively. As a result, southeasterlies are reinforced in the northeast area of the East Asia including Korea and Japan which facilitates the movement of TC to this area, whereas northwesterlies are reinforced in the southwest area of the East Asia including South China and Indochina Peninsula which blocks the movement of TC to this area. Due to the spatial distribution of this reinforced pressure system, TCs develop, move, and turn more to the northeast of WNP than those in the negative WP phase. Consequently, the characteristics of this TC activity in the positive WP phase are associated with the location of upper tropospheric jet further to the northeast. Meanwhile, TCs in the negative WP phase mainly move to the west from Philippines toward south China and Indochina Peninsula. Furthermore, due to the terrain effect caused by the high passage frequency of TCs in the mainland China, the intensity of TCs are weaker than those in the positive WP phase.
Even though 30inch optical telescope at Kyung Hee Astronomy Observatory has been used to produce a series of scientific achievements since its first light in 1992, numerous difficulties in operating of the telescope have hindered the precise observations needed for further researches. Since the currently used PC-TCS(Personal Computer based Telescope Control System) software based on ISA-bus type is outdated, it doesn't have a user friendly interface and make it impossible to scale. Also accumulated errors which are generated by discordance from input and output signals into a motion controller required new control system. Thus we have improved the telescope control system by updating software and modifying mechanical parts. We applied a new BLDC(brushless DC) servo motor system to the mechanical parts of the telescope and developed a control software using Visual Basic6.0. As a result, we could achieve a high accuracy in controlling of the telescope and use the user friendly GUI(Graphic User Interface).

The main purpose of launch vehicle is to insert satellite into a target orbit safely and correctly. To accomplish the main purpose of launch vehicle, the inserting velocity, inserting angle, and final mass of launch vehicle should be within the allowable range. In general, such requirements are satisfied with applying TCS(Thrust Control System) and TDS(Tank Depletion System), which manage thrust and mixture ratio by controlling propellant flow rate with thrust and mixture ratio control valves. In this study, the control characteristics of thrust and mixture ratio control valve were examined by PID control logic for stable operation of liquid-Propellant rocket engine at on-dosing point. The analysis on the control characteristics of control valves was done with AMESim code and the results from control valve test facility at KARI.
Accurate and quick positioning of the throttle valve in driving situation is required to implement the Traction Control System(TCS). Also, unlike a conventional throttle valve which is connected to the accelerator directly by a wire, an Electronic Throttle Valve(ETV) is driven by a DC motor and can move dependently upon the accurate position of the accelerator. In the research, the Electronic Throttle Body(ETB) and Controller for TCS application was developed. In order to drive the DC motor, the developed controller was built and interfaced to the ECU and ETB. The PID position control algorism and developed systems are designed to realize the robust tracking control of the ETV. Actual vehicle tests with these systems and PID position control algorithm. Finally, the performance of the proposed those are evaluated with the experimental studies.
The evolution of living organisms occurs via a combination of highly complicated processes that involve modification of various features such as appearance, metabolism and sensing systems. To understand the evolution of life, it is necessary to understand how each biological feature has been optimized in response to new environmental conditions and interrelated with other features through evolution. To accomplish this, we constructed contents-based trees for a two-component system (TCS) and metabolic network to determine how the environmental communication mechanism and the intracellular metabolism have evolved, respectively. We then conducted a comparative analysis of the two trees using ARACNE to evaluate the evolutionary and functional relationship between TCS and metabolism. The results showed that such integrated analysis can give new insight into the study of bacterial evolution.
Vancomycin response regulator (VncR) is a pneumococcal response regulator of the VncRS two-component signal transduction system (TCS) of Streptococcus pneumoniae. VncRS regulates bacterial autolysis and vancomycin resistance. VncR contains two different functional domains, the N-terminal receiver domain and C-terminal effector domain. Here, we investigated VncR C-terminal DNA binding domain (VncRc) structure using a crystallization approach. Crystallization was performed using the micro-batch method. The crystals diffracted to a 1.964 Å resolution and belonged to space group P212121. The crystal unit-cell parameters were a = 25.71 Å, b = 52.97 Å, and c = 60.61 Å. The structure of VncRc had a helix-turn-helix motif highly similar to the response regulator PhoB of Escherichia coli. In isothermal titration calorimetry and size exclusion chromatography results, VncR formed a complex with VncS, a sensor histidine kinase of pneumococcal TCS. Determination of VncR structure will provide insight into the mechanism by how VncR binds to target genes.
