An unequal site exchanging system induced by restricted rotation of 9-methyl group in 1,8-dichloro-9-triptycene has been studied by spin-lattice relaxation and 2D-EXSY experiments. The exchange rate obtained from relaxation studies is very well coincident to the result of line shape analysis, and the difference of the relaxation times ($T_1$) in two different sites has an important role to analyze 2D-EXSY experimental data.
The NMR spectrum and spin-lattice relaxation times, $T_1$, of the $^{1}H$ nuclei in $(NH_{4})_{2}Cd_{2}(SO_{4})_{3}$ single crystals were obtained. The two minima in $T_1$ in the paraelectric phase are attributed to the reorientational motions of the $NH_{4}^{+}$ groups. The $^{1}H\;T_1$ of the $(NH_{4})_{2}Cd_{2}(SO_{4})_{3}$ crystals can be described with Bloembergen- Purcell-Pound (BPP) theory. The experimental value of $T_1$ can be expressed in terms of an isotropic correlation time ${\tau}_H$ for molecular motions by using the BPP theory, and determine the role of protons in these processes.

This study was conducted from May 12 to July 25, 2000. The muscle relaxation therapy was performed 5 weeks to experimental group. The experimental group participated in the muscle relaxation training sessions for 20minutes twice a week during five weeks. The level of job stress was measured by nurses occupational stress scale. The level of Psychological response was measured by Profile of mood state. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, t-test, paired t-test. Result: The results of this study were as follows: The experimental group who received the muscle relaxation therapy showed more reduction of job stress level (t=1.35, p=0.038) and profile of mood state level (t=2.27, p=0.027) after therapy than those in control group. Conclusion: This study reveals that the muscle relaxation therapy is effective in reduction of nurse's job stress and promotion of mood state. So the researcher thinks that it is useful in reduction of job stress and increased of job satisfaction in hospital.
Purpose: This study was to examine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy on stress and anxiety of traffic accident patients. Method: Subjects of this study were 39 hospitalized patients at orthopedic ward. An experimental group received Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy five times each week for four weeks beginning from the fourth day following the injury, whereas a control group received regular care. A tape of Jacobson's Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy recorded in Korean by the Rheumatoid Health Academic Society was used for relaxation therapy. Data were analyzed using SPSS 13.0 for Windows. Results: Patients who received Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy experienced lower level of stress (t=-9.829, p<.001) and anxiety (t=-15.303, p<.001) than those who did not. Conclusion: Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy may be an effective nursing intervention to reduce levels of stress and anxiety of traffic accident patients.

Purpose : $T_2{^*}$ relaxation time which includes susceptibility information represents unique feature of tissue. The objective of this study was to investigate $T_2{^*}$ relaxation times of the normal glandular tissue and fat of breast using a 3T MRI system. Materials and Methods: Seven-echo MR Images were acquired from 52 female subjects (age $49{\pm}12 $years; range, 25 to 75) using a three-dimensional (3D) gradient-echo sequence. Echo times were between 2.28 ms to 25.72 ms in 3.91 ms steps. Voxel-based $T_2{^*}$ relaxation times and $R_2{^*}$ relaxation rate maps were calculated by using the linear curve fitting for each subject. The 3D regions-of-interest (ROI) of the normal glandular tissue and fat were drawn on the longest echo-time image to obtain $T_2{^*}$ and $R_2{^*}$ values. Mean values of those parameters were calculated over all subjects. Results: The 3D ROI sizes were $4818{\pm}4679$ voxels and $1455{\pm}785$ voxels for the normal glandular tissue and fat, respectively. The mean $T_2{^*}$ values were $22.40{\pm}5.61ms$ and $36.36{\pm}8.77ms$ for normal glandular tissue and fat, respectively. The mean $R_2{^*}$ values were $0.0524{\pm}0.0134/ms$ and $0.0297{\pm}0.0069/ms$ for the normal glandular tissue and fat, respectively. Conclusion: $T_2{^*}$ and $R_2{^*}$ values were measured from human breast tissues. $T_2{^*}$ of the normal glandular tissue was shorter than that of fat. Measurement of $T_2{^*}$ relaxation time could be important to understand susceptibility effects in the breast cancer and the normal tissue.
The proton and deuteron spin-lattice relaxation times, $T_{1}(H)$ and $T_{1}(D)$, have been measured in HD between 30 K and 313 K in the pressure of 0.67 - 1.92 atm. The nuclear magnetic resonance frequencies are respectively 358.012 MHz for a proton and 58.958 MHz for a deuteron. From the measurements of $T_{1}(H)$ and $T_{1}(D)$ the ratio of the correlation times ${\tau}_{1}\;and\;{\tau}_{2}$ that are associated with the molecular angular momentum operators was obtained. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time at J = 1 state has been observed to have a temperature dependence being proportional to $T^{0.25}$.
A generalized linearization model for stress relaxation curves of vegetative tissues was proposed as $[F_{(o)}t^n/(F_{(o)}-F_{(t)})=k_1+k_2t]$, taking into account internal structure changes under a constant strain. Where $F_{(o)}$ is the initial force, $F_{(t)}$ is the decaying force after time t, and $k_1$, $k_2$ and n are constants. This model was well fit to stress relaxation curves of a variety of raw and processed fruits and vegetables.
The spin-lattice relaxation time, $T_1$, for $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei in GaAs:$Mn^{2+}$ single crystals was measured as a function of temperature. The values of $T_1$ for $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei were found to decrease with increasing temperature. The $T_1$ values in GaAs:$Mn^{2+}$ crystal are similar to those in pure GaAs crystal. The calculated activation energies for the $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei are 4.34, 4.07, and 3.99 kJ/mol. It turns out that the paramagnetic impurity effect of $Mn^{2+}$ ion doped in GaAs single crystal was not strong on the spin-lattice relaxation time.
The present study uses quasi-classical trajectory procedures to examine the vibrational relaxation and dissociation of the methyl and ring C-H bonds in excited methylpyrazine (MP) during collision with either N2 or O2. The energy-loss (-ΔE) of the excited MP is calculated as the total vibrational energy (ET) of MP is increased in the range of 5,000 to 40,000cm-1. The results indicate that the collision-induced vibrational relaxation of MP is not large, increasing gradually with increasing ET between 5,000 and 30,000 cm-1, but then decreasing with the further increase in ET. In both N2 and O2 collisions, the vibrational relaxation of MP occurs mainly via the vibration-to-translation (V→T) and vibration-to-vibration (V→V) energy transfer pathways, while the vibration-to-rotation (V→R) energy transfer pathway is negligible. In both collision systems, the V→T transfer shows a similar pattern and amount of energy loss in the ET range of 5,000 to 40,000cm-1, whereas the pattern and amount of energy transfer via the V→V pathway differs significantly between two collision systems. The collision-induced dissociation of the C-Hmethyl or C-Hring bond occurs when highly excited MP (65,000-72,000 cm-1) interacts with the ground-state N2 or O2. Here, the dissociation probability is low (10-4-10-1), but increases exponentially with increasing vibrational excitation. This can be interpreted as the intermolecular interaction below ET = 71,000 cm-1. By contrast, the bond dissociation above ET = 71,000 cm-1 is due to the intramolecular energy flow between the excited C-H bonds. The probability of C-Hmethyl dissociation is higher than that of C-Hring dissociation.
