  • This paper deals with determining the proper friction welding condition and analyzing various mechanical properties of friction welded joints of the bladepart heat resisting steel(STD11) for cold die punch to the shank part alloy steel(SCM440). And the in-process real-time weld quality evaluation technique by acoustic emission during friction welding of STD11 to SCM440 steels with higher confidence and reliability has been much required even though it might be the first trial approach for developing it. Also, the high temperature properties of STD11-SCM440 weld were considered in this paper.

  • Sublimation vapour pressures and sublimation enthalpy of anhydrous bismuth trifluoride have been measured by the continuous gravimetric Cnudsen-effusion method from 639-7 to 782.8 K. Additional effusion measurements have also been made from 750.6 to 863.1 K by the torsion-effusion method. Based on a correlation of subHo298.15 and subSo298.15, a recommended P(T) equation has been obtained for BiF3(s); logP= -C/T+5.2375logT-3.205$\times$10-3+4.661$\times$104/T2+1.348 where P is in Pa, T in Kelvin, subHo298.15 in kJ mol-1 and C=( subHo298.15-13.5149)/1.9146$\times$10-2. Condensation coefficients and their temperature dependence have been derived from the effusion measurements.

  • In order to get the information of the deformational behavior of rock masses with time in waste disposal repository, it is necessary to measure the relationships between stress and strain and time for temperature. A creep law is used in conjunction with the elastic moduli to calculate stress and displacement following waste emplacement. Exponential-time law's parameters consist of stress and temperature. In this study, thermal creep test was carried out for Whangdeung granite. The measured creep deformation behavior was well explained by exponential time law and generalized Kelvin's rheological model. Mechanicla coefficients for exponential-time creep law showed the clear tendency of temperature dependent while those for Kelvein's model didn't.

  • Steady-state sublimation vapour pressures of anhydrous bismuth triiodide have been measured by the continuous gravimetric Kundsen-effusion method from 430.0 to 558.9 K and equilibrium sublimation pressures were obtained from the steady-state data. Condensation coefficients and their temperature dependence have been derived from the effusiion measurement. Condensation coefficients ranged from 0.159 to 0.048(475 to 500K), the activation enthalpy and entropy for condensation have been obtained as -93.38kTmol-1 and -212.70JK-1mol-1. The standard sublimation enthalpy changes derived by both second(modified sigma function) and third(average enthalpy method) law methods were 138.261$\pm$0.023, 138.74$\pm$0.002kJmol-1 respectively. The standard sublimation entropy change derived by modified sigma function was 191.98$\pm$0.047 JK-1mol-1. The reliable standard sublimation enthalpy change based on a correlation of ΔgcrHom(298.15K) and ΔgcrSom(298.15K), a recommended p(T) equation has been obtained for BiI3(cr) ; 1g(p/Pa)=-C/(T/K)+5.0711g(T/K)-2.838$\times$10-3(T/K)-7.758$\times$103(K/T)2+1.4519 where p is in Pa, T in Kelvin, ΔgcrHom(298.15K) in kJmol-1 and C=(ΔgcrHom(298.15K)-8.7358)/1.9146$\times$10-2.

  • Steady-state sublimation vapour pressures of anhydrous bismuth trichloride have been measured by the continuous gravimetric Knudsen effusion method from 370.6 to 488.8 K. Additional effusion measurements have also been made from 438.2 to 495.7 K by the torsion effusion method. Based on a correlation of ${\Delta}_H0298$.15 and ${\Delta}_H0298$.15, a recommended p(T) equation has been obtained for BiCl3(s); log(p/Pa)=-C/(T/K)-2.838log(T/K)-8.097${\times}$10-2(K/T)2+22.588, where p is in Pa, T in Kelvin and ${\Delta}_H0298$.15 in kJmo1-1 and C=(${\Delta}_H0298$.15+5.9988)/1.9146${\times}$10-2. • Five models for net radiation estimation reported by Linacre(1968), Berljand(1956), Nakayama et al. (1983), Chang (1970) and Doorenbos et al. (1977) were tested for the adaptability to Korea. A new model with effective longwave radiation term parameterized by air temperature, solar radiation and vapor pressure was formulated and tested for its accuracy. Above five models with original parameter values showed large absolute mean deviations ranging from 0.86 to 1.64 MJ/$m^2$/day. The parameters of the above five models were reestimated by using net radiation and meteorological elements measured in Suwon, Korea. These five models with new parameter values showed absolute mean deviations ranging from 0.74 to 0.88 MJ/$m^2$/day. The following model was newly formulated: Rn=(1- $\alpha$) Rs- $\sigma$ $T_{k}$$^{4}$ (0.0103 Exp (0 .0731 Rs) -0.0475 (equation omitted) +0 .2478) ($R^2$=0.997, n=63) where $\alpha$ =albedo, $\sigma$=Stefan-Boltzmann constant, Rs=solar radiation in MJ/$m^2$/day, Tk =air temperature in Kelvin and $e_{a}$=vapor pressure in mb. This model revealed 0.4988 MJ/$m^2$/day in absolute mean deviation when applied to an independent set of meteorological data.a.a.

  • To use the earth heat for the pig housing, an underground heat exchanger has constructed in depth of 2.5m and 20m length. The temperature of the outlet air was max. 8 kelvin higher than that of inlet air in winter season. In spite of the -7$^{\circ}C$ outside temperature, it could keep the air temperature from the earth tube above zero degree. The heating performance was maximum in value of 3.25Wh/㎥ and average of 1.75Wh/㎥ by the airflow volume of 340㎥/h. The slope of relative humidity from outlet air has shown gentler than that of inlet air. By using the underground heat exchanger, it would be possible to prepare an relatively uniform relative humidity in the swine stalls. The temperatures on the earth, where PVC pipes are buried, have shown 10~12$^{\circ}C$ on March. This can reduce the difference between day and night temperature during this season by using the underground heat exchanger.
