  • The genus Nippoleucon was newly established within the family Leuconidae and two Hemileucon species, N. hinumensis (Gamo, 1967) and N. enoshimensis (Gamo, 1967), were transferred to this genus. Through examination of the cumacean specimens from the Gwangyang Bay of the Korea Strait, N. hinumensis is recorded as new to Korean fauna. The genus Nippoleucon is reported from Korea for the first time.

  • In the previous study, the countermeasure for welding deformation of bracket tilt is through up through experimental inspection for total process including welding process. For completeness of systematic examination of parts having sensitivity on welding deformation, the comparison and feedback between the result through simulation of welding process and experimental data is needed. In other words, it is necessary to control welding deformation that construct the prediction system for welding deformation through comparison and tuning with experimental data. In the present study, the application of FEA on welding process of bracket tilt with susceptibility to deformation is made and deformation behavior through change of welding sequence is focused on. It is used to improve the exactness of deformation analysis that three dimensional analysis for moving heat source, activated and deactivated bead element, and volume heat flux etc.

  • Objectives : This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of Boyanghwano-tang Extracts on Reversible Forebrain Ischemia in Mongolian Gerbils. Methods : The water content of cerebral edema and the morphologicalㆍneurocytochemistrical change of neuron in MG were implemented to conduct this study. Results : The change rate of water content by ischemia in the normal group was 78.90% on the third day and 79.12% on the seventh day after an attack of ischemia. The rate in the control group was 80.34% and 81.72%. In the sample group the rate was 79.85% and 80.97%. This is a significant result. According to the result of the optical microscopic examination, the cells seen to be continuous and systematic in the pyramidal cells of hippocampus were changed into discontinuous and unsystematic forms in the control group. But compared with the control group, the cells were less damaged in the sample group. Conclusions : The data shows that the effect of Boyanghwano-tang Extracts on Reversible Forebrain Ischemia in MG is a significant result.

  • This research aims at implementing an automation-based building code checking system which will be employed for Architectural Registration Examination. By creating a specific building data model and implementing an automatic building code checking module, the research aims is accomplished. The contribution of this research are as follows; it becomes possible to execute a systematic building code checking. And unlike the existing automatic building code checking systems, it successfully addresses a way of increasing the number of checklist without modifying the system.

  • A cyclopoid species from several salt marshes and estuaries on the west coast of South Korea were identified as Halicyclops continentalis Ueda and Nagai, 2009, recently described from Ariake Bay at northwestern Kyushu, Japan. Detailed examination on the Korean specimens justifies Ueda and Nagai's proposition that the H. sinensis sensu Tai and Chen, 1979 formerly known from the Chinese coast of the Yellow Sea should be identical to H. continentalis. Furthermore, this report reinforces their assumption on the geographical distribution of H. continentalis, that is, the Ariake Bay population is a continental relict of the East Asia continent. Herein, a redescription of the species is provided on the basis of the Korean specimens, with a comment on the morphological comparison among three populations around the Yellow Sea.

  • This study examines modernist grid and boundary in the works of Toyo Ito - two of the most important notions characterizing the development of Toyo Ito as an iconoclast architect. Early in his career, Ito recognized modernist architecture's inherent tendencies to establish homogenous order and divide space by function was alienating people from their context. Ito identified the notions of modernist grid and boundary as the agents of Modernism which inadvertently served to impose this systematic order and severe separation. As a reaction against these tendencies, Ito sought to avoid the use of modernist grid and blur boundary in his architecture. In Ito's career spanning over four decades, he engages in an exhaustive inquiry seeking to modify these two core elements of architecture. This study investigates these two notions in Ito's works and examines the significance of the architect's exploration in the context of Japan's Modernism.

  • The portfolio selection is one of the most important and vital decisions that a real or legal person, who invests in stock market, should make. The main purpose of this article is the determination of the optimal portfolio with regard to relations among stock returns of companies which are active in Tehran's stock market. For achieving this goal, weekly statistics of company's stocks since Farvardin 1389 until Esfand 1390, has been used. For analyzing statistics and information and examination of stocks of companies which has change in returns, factors analysis approach and clustering analysis has been used (FC approach). With using multivariate analysis and with the aim of reducing the unsystematic risk, a financial portfoliois formed. At last but not least, results of choosing the optimal portfolio rather than randomly choosing a portfolio are given.

  • In recent years, the chemical modification of polymers has been a driving force in many industrial sectors. There was evidence that this might also be the case of perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) in the personal care industry. To investigate this potential, a systematic study has been conducted at Solvay Solexis SpA (formerly Ausimont SpA), through the analysis of the organic chemistry suitable to modify PFPE structures, and through the examination of the properties of PFPE derivatives thus produced from the viewpoint of a cosmetic formulator.(omitted)

  • A taxonomical examination of water mites collected at 2 localities in Chindo Island resulted in that they were composed of the following 7 species in 6 families and 6 genera: Hydrodroma despiciens despiciens (Miiller), Sperchonopsis verrucosa verrucosa (Protz), Torrenticola (Torrenticola) nipponica (Enami), Hygrobates (Hygrobates) longipalpis (Hermann), Unionicola (Unionicola) crassipes minor (Soar), Aturus glaberus Kim and Chung, and Bharatalbia (Japonalbia) ibarakiensis Imamura. Of these 4 taxa, Hydrodroma despiciens despiciens, Torrenticola nipponica, Hygrobates longipalpis, and Bharatalbia ibarakiensis were reported for the first time from Korea. A discussion about some facts deduced from the species composition and their distributions was also made.
