Buildings are mostly under part load conditions causing an inefficient system operation in terms of energy consumption. It is critical to operate building air-conditioning system with a scientific or optimal manner which minimizes energy consumption and maintains thermal comfort by matching building sensible and latent loads. Little research has been performed in developing general methodologies for the optimal operation of air-conditioning system. Based on this research motivation, system simulation program was developed by adopting various equipment operating strategies which are energy efficient especially for humidity control in summer. A numerical optimization technique was utilized to search optimal solution for multi-independent variables and then linked to the developed system simulation model within a mam program. The main goal of the study is to provide a systematic framework and guideline for the optimal operation of air-conditioning system focusing on air-side. For given cooling loads and ambient outdoor conditions the optimal operating strategies of a commercial building are determined by minimizing a constrained objective function by a nonlinear programming technique. Desired space setpoint conditions were found through evaluating the trade-offs between comfort and system power consumption. The results show that supply airflow rate and compressor fraction play main roles in the optimization process. It was found that variable setpoint optimization technique could produce lower indoor humidity level demanding less power consumption which will be benefits for building applications of humidity problem.

In this paper, we try to improve the performance of the demand paging loader suggested to use the demand paging way that is not based on operating system. The demand paging switching strategy used in the existing operating system can know the recently used pages by running multi-processing. Then, based on it, some page switching strategies have been made for the recently used pages or the frequently demanded pages. However, the strategies based on operating system cannot be applied in single processing that is not based on operating system because any context switching never occur on the single processing. So, this paper is trying to suggest the demand paging switching strategies that can be applied in paging loader running in single process. In the Return-Prediction-Algorithm, we saw the improved performance in the program that the function call occurred frequently in a long distance. And then, in the Most-Frequently-Used-Page-Remain-Algorithm, we saw the improved performance in the program that the references frequently occurred for the particular pages. Likewise, it had an enormous effect on keeping the memory reduction performance by the demand paging and reducing the running time delay at the same time.
This paper gives an attempt to build a decision support tool linked with a simulation software called ARENA for evaluating and comparing the performance of the push and pull material driven strategies operating in the flow shop environment with a bottleneck resource as the shop's constraint. To be fair for such evaluation, the comparison must be made fairly under the optimal setting of both systems' operating parameters. In this study, an optimal-seeking heuristic algorithm, Genetic Algorithm (GA), is employed to suggest a systems' best design based on the economic consideration, which is the profit generated from the system. Results from the study have revealed interesting outcomes, letting us know the strength and weakness of the push and pull mechanisms as well as the effect of each operating parameter to the overall system's financial performance.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of various control strategies in commercial buildings which have been operated by the variable air volume (VAV) system. Two buildings in Seoul were chosen for the field study. The one (D building) combined by LonWorks has the constant airflow of supply fan and the proportional control of VAV units (damper type). The other (S building) combined by DDC has the PI control mode of the supply fan and the floating control of VAV units (venturi type). In estimating thermal comfort and energy performance through control modes of PI, PID, and CAV in the supply fan, we could identify several energy efficient operating control strategies for the VAV system.
This paper presents preventive and emergency control measures for on line transient stability (security) enhancement. For insecure operating state, generation rescheduling based on a real power generation shift factor (RPGSF) is proposed as a preventive control measure to bring the system back to secure operating state. For emergency operating state, two emergency control strategies namely generator shedding and load shedding have been developed. The proposed emergency control strategies are based on voltage magnitudes and rotor trajectories data available through Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) installed in the systems. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been investigated on IEEE-39 bus test system under different contingency and fault conditions and application results are presented.
Ministry of Environment developed ‘Emergency Response Information System (ERIS)’ in 2001, which is in operation. As a next step, currently National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) is being developed. The main difference among ERIS and NERIS is to enhance the system in the national level, including transportation of hazardous materials. This paper introduces concepts and methods applied to NERIS, especially HAZMAT, and the information system, operating strategies. Based on GIS and transportation-network data, the best route can be offered using Risk Analysis. Strategies for reporting and first-response information systems are also designed for emergencies in the paper.
The common Knowledge Management System has been constructed to increase the organization's competitiveness based on the objective of support on knowledge activities of individuals. But not many of cases have been success with constructing the magnificent concept of several of knowledge management. This case research is based on the constructed strategies, constructed concept and operating case on Knowledge Management System of Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries which was selected to the year 2004 outstanding operating organization among the government organization. This case research is suggesting that to have successful knowledge management, needs to have a reliable objective and goals prior to the abducting the Knowledge Management System and should establish the propulsion strategies that meets the organization and the culture. Also, it indicated that all the individuals should forward first in order to move organization and the system further more based of consider the constructed content, activity plan, evaluation and preview which the special feature of Knowledge Management System has.
The air supply system has a significant effect on the efficiency of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) systems. The performance and efficiency of automotive PEMFC systems are greatly influenced by their air supply system configurations. This study deals with the system simulation of automotive PEMFC systems using MATLAB/Simulink framework. In this study, a low-pressure operating PEMFC system adopting blower sub-module (turbo-blower) is modeled to investigate the effects of stack operating temperature and air stoichiometry on the parasitic power and efficiency of automotive PEMFC systems. In addition, the PEMFC net system efficiency and parasitic power of air supply system are mainly compared for the two types (low-pressure operating and high-pressure operating) of automotive PEMFC systems under the same net power conditions. It is suggested that the obtained results from this system approach can be applied for establishing the novel operating strategies for FC vehicles.

Recently, it is becoming the big issue internationally where the safety problem of the industrial product including the foodstuffs. The way is able to construct the trust of the consumer that the external specialized agency independently operating confirms what production process of the product keep a standard or a technical regulation. This is conformity assessment. In the many countries, agencies entrusted government authority do conformity assessment. Specially, 'certification' in one form of conformity assessment process is operating a certification system at the government and the non-government body in Korea. Also non-government certification is fixed by trusted system from consumer. He has to prepare a competitive power in liberalization time, so need the countermeasure urgently. This study purpose that develops strategy so as to activating of non-government certification system in gist of the origination called 'self-control.' I present activation strategies using SWOT/AHP analysis.
For the commercialization of fuel cell powered vehicle, it is highly important to improve the performance and efficiency of an automotive polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system. The performance and efficiency of PEMFC systems are significantly influenced by their operating conditions. Among these conditions, the system operating pressure is considered as the one of the main factors. In this study, to investigate the effects of operating pressure on the performance and efficiency of automotive PEMFC systems, two types of high-pressure operating PEMFC systems adopting two different compressors (i. e. different performance maps) are modeled by using MATLAB/Simulink environment. The PEMFC system efficiency and parasitic compressor power are mainly analyzed and compared for the two types of high-pressure operating PEMFC systems under the same system net power conditions. It is expected that this kind of study can contribute to provide basic insight into the operating strategies of high-pressure operating PEMFC systems for automotive use.
