  • Driverless Train Control System has been recently introduced and commercialized in Korea. It is expected that the vehicle with driverless operation system will be used in new lines such as Sinbundang line soon. Therefore it is necessary to change the system operation and conception of the existing train operation system and the necessity of driverless vehicle monitoring system meeting a new paradigm is rising. In order to dispel concerning about safety issues caused by driverless train operation, the importance to establish vehicle error detection, useful fault diagnosis and rapid action plans is higher than ever. For this, efficient and higher level of vehicle supervision & control system should be essentially supported. In this study, remote driverless vehicle monitoring system using by radio communication is suggested to be used for monitoring and controlling important parts of the vehicle and diagnose and take quick actions when vehicles are in trouble at control tower at real time.

  • The strengthened regulations for atmospheric emissions from ships like MARPOL Annex VI have caused a necessity of new, alternative power system in ships for the low pollutant emissions and the high energy efficiency. This paper attempts to investigate the configuration of SOFC system for LNG tanker taking into account the safety and to analyze the influence of design parameters on the system performance. The simulation results provide the basic data for the design and efficiency improvement of SOFC system and indicate the guidelines for the safe system operation.

  • The maintenance CALS system for car of urban transit is a part of standardization and development of urban transit system, and We have been performed the establishment of maintenance CALS system from 2001 to 2005. These 2D and 3D configuration management system are utilized in a variety of CALS system for user's convenience and safety in maintenance. In this paper, the 2D and 3D configuration system will be discussed for necessity and possibility. This system include RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability and safety) of the vehicles shall be enhanced in the future.

  • To keep an enterprise's competitiveness on the condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously In not only in production and maintenance but also in related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for preventing industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique are studied by using of the knowledge-based system under the real-time computer-operating environment and using fuzzy linguistic variable. This computer system based knowledge-based diagnosis can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert system about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robots, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility all the time. Therefore, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety when we use this system.

  • The Tactical Data Link System is a standardized communication link to exchange and interface positional, situational information, command and control in real time. It has been evaluated that this Link would play an important role for tactical interoperability, situation awareness, and execution of joint operations in the future war. But considering the rapidly changing war situations, even though being admitted the necessity of the Tactical Data Link System of Army helicopter, one of superpowers in the Army, substantially we don't still have any concrete concept to build it. Therefore, this work presents how to embody the Tactical Data Link System through computer-aided system engineering on the base of Tactical Data Link System operating concept analysis of helicopters-ground units.

  • This paper deals with dynamic characteristics of automated guideway transit vehicle with rubber tires. Several models for guideway system of LRT(Light Rail Transit) have been Proposed because of the necessity of guideway system for LRT with rubber tires on exclusive rail unlike steel tires. Here, steering system and bogie system are investigated to compare with dynamic characteristics. On selecting guideway system, the way of vehicle operation should be considered and simultaneously the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle must be evaluated with respect to each guideway. The results show that stability is essential for vehicle with steering system, and that single-axle bogie system gives the good stability, though it is necessary to reduce the guide-wheel force

  • By successful establishment of SCM(Supply Chain Management) System they should make the supply chains speedy and combine production information system with the outcome system and thus they reinforce the competition of the production system of local enterprises in accordance with the rapid decision making This study is to develop the most appropriate production system models through the reflection of JIT system in the SCM which is the necessity of the times and its importance.   • The researches on the direct drive system, which directly transfers axle load of the traction motor to wheels, have been developed as a next generation drive system in Japan and Europe. As a result of excluding couplings and gear units, the direct drive system has advantages on the bogie mount space to be smaller sized, lower noisy, more efficient and less weighted than the conventional drive system - indirect drive system. Since the simplification of the direct drive system design depends on the design of the traction motors, the researches on the direct drive system with focusing on the traction motors get started. The advantages/disadvantages of direct drive system, types, structures, cooling systems and interfaces of the traction motors are presented on this paper. Furthermore, the development of other countries on the electric equipments of the next generation railway vehicles are discussed and the necessity & requirement for developing new concepts of traction motors are assured.

  • Recently, necessity and usage of the teleoperation have been increased in various fields from industrial automation to home application. Also, the internet is considered as a strong candidate far the transmission media of signals. However, it has an irregular transmission time delay and causes critical problems such as instability and poor performance. This paper presents a practical internet teleoperation system with a streaming buffer system which makes a variable time delay fixed. Validity of the proposed system is demonstrated by implementing the embedded system on a HILS(hardware in the loop system) which models a two-wheel mobile robot.
