서울시 소방구급차(消防救急車)서비스 수요(需要) 결정요인(決定要因) (Determinants of the Demand for Public Ambulance Calls in a Metropolitan Area)

  • Purpose : This study was to analyze the demand for emergency ambulance service and to characterize the factors associated with the demand. Method : The basis for the model was from the actual demand for public emergency ambulance and socioeconomic and geographic characteristics. Multiple regression analyses were done for the related characteristics of public ambulance service. Result : The model explained total demand with a high degree of accuracy : the coefficient of determination($R^2=0.96$). For the regression, the set of variables indicative of low socioeconomic status were all significant. It showed the inappropriate use of public ambulance system. Public ambulance demand increased in higher housing density, low income, male unemployment and female labor force. Conclusion : The demand for public ambulances appeared to be highly predictable, using a simple linear model employing socioeconomic variables, quality of service variables, and land use variables. Low-income families tended, to use the public ambulance system more often than higher income. Area having elderly people or children also made many calls. Estimated demand calls were stable and had a tendency to be similar incident types.

Call Admission Control Based on Adaptive Bandwidth Allocation for Wireless Networks

  • Provisioning of quality of service (QoS) is a key issue in any multi-media system. However, in wireless systems, supporting QoS requirements of different traffic types is a more challenging problem due to the need to simultaneously minimize two performance metrics - the probability of dropping a handover call and the probability of blocking a new call. Since QoS requirements are not as stringent for non-real-time traffic, as opposed to real-time traffic, more calls can be accommodated by releasing some bandwidth from the already admitted non-real-time traffic calls. If the released bandwidth that is used to handle handover calls is larger than the released bandwidth that is used for new calls, then the resulting probability of dropping a handover call is smaller than the probability of blocking a new call. In this paper, we propose an efficient call admission control algorithm that relies on adaptive multi-level bandwidth-allocation scheme for non-realtime calls. The scheme allows reduction of the call dropping probability, along with an increase in the bandwidth utilization. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme is capable of attaining negligible handover call dropping probability without sacrificing bandwidth utilization.

Overload Detection and Control for Switching Systems using Fuzzy Rules

  • In most switching system, the processing unit is designed to work efficiently even at relatively high loads, but when the offered traffic exceeds a particular level, the rate of completed calls can fall drastically. A single call handled by the switching system consists of a sequence of events or messages that has to be processed by the control unit. The control unit is not only incapable of handling all of the offered calls, but also its call handling capability can drop as the offered load increases. The real time available for call processing is a critical resource that requires careful management. Therefore, the overloading of this resource must be detected by a subscriber in the from of a dial tone delay or an uncompleted call which is either blocked or mishandled. The subscriber may respond by either dialing prematurely or by re-attempting a call. This action can further escalate the processors load, which is spent for uncompleted calls. Unless a proper control is used, the switching system can finally break down. In this paper, we paper, we propose a fuzzy overload detection and control method for switching systems, which can by generating fuzzy rules via fuzzy aggregation networks. Simulation results involving a switching system is given.

  • 컴퓨터 네트워크의 확대 및 인터넷 이용의 급격한 증가에 따라 네트워크 서비스 품질의 보장과 네트워크의 관리가 어려울 뿐만 아니라 네트워크 보안의 취약성으로 인하여 해킹 및 정보유출 등의 위협에 노출되어 있다. 특히 시스템 침입의 보안 위협에 대한 능동적인 대처 및 침입 이후에 동일하거나 유사한 유형의 사건 발생에 대해 실시간에 대응하는 것이 중요하므로 침임 탐지 시스템에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 호출을 이용하여 이상 침입 탐지 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위해, 특징 선택과 가변 길이 데이터를 고정 길이 학습 패턴으로 변환 생성하는 문제를 해결하기 위한 사운덱스 알고리즘을 적용한 신경망 학습을 통하여 이상 침입 탐지의 연구를 하고자 한다. 즉, 가변 길이의 순차적인 시스템 호출 데이터를 사운덱스 알고리즘에 의한 고정 길이의 행위 패턴을 생성하여 역전파 알고리즘에 의해 신경망 학습을 수행하였다. 역전파 신경망 기법을 UNM의 Sendmail Data Set을 이용하여 시스템 호출의 이상 탐지에 적용하여 성능을 검증하였다.

경기도 소방재난본부에 소속된 두 구급대의 출동수요 분석 (An Analysis of Call Demands of Two Squads In Kyonggi Provincial fire and Disaster Headquarters)

  • The purposes of this research which was conducted by surveying lost/added unit hours reports, unit hour demand analysis worksheets from prehospital care reports of two squads in Kyonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters for 20 weeks (January 1, 2002 - May 20, 2002) are to get Unit Hour Utilizations. Call Demands such as Unit Hour Demand, Simple Average Demand, High Average Demand, Peak Average Demand, the High Actual Demand. The conclusions from this analysis were summarized as follows: (1) By revealing Unit Hour Produced 3223.9, Call Volume 964, Unit Hour Utilization 0.299 at the Squad A and Unit Hour Produced 3328.4, Call Volume 901, Unit Hour Utilization 0.271 at the Squad B induced Korean Squads to chance identification, definition, direction of Unit Hour Utilization. (2) By revealing Simple Average Demand 7.4 on Monday Tuesday, High Average Demand 9.6 on Tuesday Friday. Peak Average Demand 11.5 on Tuesday, the High Actual Demand 12 on Tuesday Wednesday at the Squad A and Simple Average Demand 6.8 on Sunday, High Average Demand 10.4 on Monday, Peak Average Demand 11.5 on Monday, the High Actual Demand 13 on Monday at the Squad B enabled Korean Squads to utilize System Status Management. (3) The Maximum Calls per Unit Hour were 115 for 23:00~23:59, the Minimum Calls per Unit Hour were 46 for 05:00~05:49 in two squads. The Maximum Calls per Unit Hour were 7.4 on Tuesday Saturday, the Minimum Calls per Unit Hour were 6.1 on Thursday at the Squad A. The Maximum Calls per Unit Hour were 7.3 on Monday Saturday, the Minimum Calls per Unit Hour were 5.6 on Thursday at the Squad B. (4) Analyzing demand for EMTs in the optimum emergency medical service of Korea, we have been able to utilize this Unit Hour Utilization in company with the established estimation methods such as international comparisons or the number of ambulances for scientific reasonable estimation. (5) These Call Demands which were limited to the demand time in this study will make us expect some following studies including demand time, demand time, demand map for Strategic Deployment.

외래 및 퇴원환아 부모의 전화상담과 간호중재의 내용분석 (Content Analysis of the Nursing Interventions and Telephone Calls to the Pediatric Nursing Unit)

  • A descriptive study was conducted to describe the content of nursing interventions and incoming telephone calls from the parents whose child was discharged to home or who has planned immunization during the period from March 15, 1995 to November 30, 1995. Detailed notes on 145 telephone calls and 243 nursing interventions were recorded by head nurses on pediatiric nursing units were entered to data collection and content analysis. The results of the study are as follows : 1. Six analysis categories for the records on incoming telephone calls were identified judgement-dependence, dependent -coping, self-initiated coping, support, adjustment and intermediation need. 2. Five analytic categories for the records on telephone interventions were identified : guidance, mediation, facilitating self -care abilities, support, instrumental use. 3. Problems related to physical signs and symptoms, medication, immunization, and vital signs were most often cited as concerns by parents and caregivers. 4. Instruction, suggestion, provision knowledge and information, reassurance related to physical problems, medication, immunization and clinic visits were most often used as an nursing interventions by head nurses on pediatric nursing units. In spite of the fact that the telephone calls were initiated by the parents, dependency of parents during the telephone calls was remarkable. The dependency of parents on judgement and decision making of the pediatric nurses should be understood in terms of the psychosocial content as well as cultural characteristics. Therefore, it is suppested that telephone interventions focus on facilitating the self-care ability of the parents whose children have chronic conditions. The results of this study will be useful as an essential reference in providing effective for children and their families after discharged from the hospital. The results can also be used as reliable data for extended pediatric nursing service in the health care delivery system as well as for the development of telephone intervention service program in responding to the current health care environment.

이상 침입 탐지를 위한 베이지안 네트워크 기반의 정상행위 프로파일링 (Normal Behavior Profiling based on Bayesian Network for Anomaly Intrusion Detection)

  • 프로그램 행위 침입 탐지 기법은 데몬 프로그램이나 루트 권한으로 실행되는 프로그램이 발생시키는 시스템 호출들을 분석하고 프로파일을 구축하여 침입을 효과적으로 탐지한다 시스템 호출을 이용한 이상 탐지는 단지 그 프로세스가 이상(anomaly)임을 탐지할 뿐 그 프로세스에 의해 영향을 받는 여러 부분에 대해서는 탐지하지 못하는 문제점을 갖는다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하는 방법이 베이지안 확률값 이용하여 여러 프로세스의 시스템 호출간의 관계를 표현하고, 베이지안 네트워크를 이용한 어플리케이션의 행위 프로파일링에 의해 이상 탐지 정보를 제공한다. 본 논문은 여러 침입 탐지 모델들의 문제점들을 극복하면서 이상 침입 탐지를 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 베이지안 네트워크를 이용한 침입 탐지 방법을 제안한다 행위의 전후 관계를 이용한 정상 행위를 간결하게 프로파일링하며, 변형되거나 새로운 행위에 대해서도 탐지가 가능하다. 제안한 정상행위 프로파일링 기법을 UNM 데이터를 이용하여 시뮬레이션하였다.

멀티미디어 환경하의 계층구조 이동통신 시스템에서의 채널할당방법 (A Channel Allocation Method on Cellular Systems with Multimedia Traffic)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성호 및 데이타호를 동시에 서비스하는 계층구조를 가지는 CDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 트래픽 특성을 고려한 효율적인 채널 할당 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안된 채널할당 알고리듬은 신규호나 핸드오프호가 마이크로셀에 접속을 시도하고 만약 여유채널이 존재하지 않으면 상위계층인 매크로셀로 오버플로우(Overflow)되는 방식을 Birth-Death Process를 이용한 Stochastic Model로써 모델링한다. 특히, 이 모델에서는 핸드오프 전용채널을 두고 이 핸드오프 전용채널의 수에 따른 블록킹확률을 구한다. 이 결과를 이용하여 적정한 서비스품질(QoS)을 만족하는 핸드오프 전용채널의 수를 결정한다.

  • 셀룰러 네트워크 시스템에서 성능 품질을 평가하기 위한 가장 중요한 측정 기준 중의 하나는 평균 호 절단(average call drops)수이다. 따라서 사용자에게 만족할 만한 통신 품질을 제공받기 위해서는 사용자가 이동하더라도 서비스 중인 활성 호(active call)가 통신 도중에 절단되지 않고 성공적으로 수행 완료되도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 핸드오프는 임의의 기지국에서 또 다른 기지국으로 활성 호를 중계 할 때 끊기는 현상 없이 연결의 연속성을 보장하여 셀룰러 시스템의 신뢰성을 높이는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 게임 이론을 이용한 핸드오프 기법과 서비스품질 효용 함수(QoS utility function)를 제안하여 활성 호가 SIR(signal-to-interference ratio)이 높고 가용 채널 수가 많은 기지국으로 전달될 수 있도록 하였다.

채널의 출력제어를 통한 셀룰라 이동통신 시스템의 최적 설계 (Optimal design of mobile cellular communication systems by channel power control)

  • A major concern in a cellular mobile communication system is how to efficiently utilize the limited amount of frequencies. Various channel assignment methods and traffic sharing schemes have been proposed to improve system performance. However, these approaches suffer from complicated software and hardware requirements due to increased amount of traffic control In this paper, we propose a new method for improving system performance by controlling the powers of the set-up and voice channels of each cell site. We first show that the average number of blocked calls in a system is minimized when the traffic reates are made identical for all cell sites in a system. This result, together with the relationship between the channel powers and the service area, is used to determine the appropriate channel powers of each cell site. We also determine the upper limit on the channel power of each cell site considering co-channel interference and numerically show that the proposed method is effective in reducing the number of blocked calls without an excessive increase in the amount of system control.
