Factors Affecting User Adoption of E-Payment Services Available in Mobile Wallets in Saudi Arabia

  • Mobile wallets have been in continuous demand and developed over the past few years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several studies have examined user intentions and perspectives. This study develops a conceptual model combining behavioral factors with the technology acceptance model (TAM). The goal is to identify key factors that influence user's intention to adopt mobile payments. This study uses the TAM and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) models with additional factors. The additional factors are security, trust, facilitating conditions, and lifestyle compatibility. The study analyzes the results of a survey of 394 Saudi citizens conducted via an online survey. The results indicate that user attitudes and intentions are positively influenced by all of the factors. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, lifestyle compatibility, and facilitating conditions are direct predictors of user behavior in accepting mobile wallet payments. This study provides an empirical contribution to the literature on mobile payment acceptance on the effect of perceived usefulness and lifestyle compatibility. The results demonstrate that about 26% of the respondents started using mobile wallet services because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Smart tolling, which improved the drawbacks of the existing high-pass system, was developed and built through the Smart Highway R & D project in 2007. In order to successfully introduce and spread Smart Tolling, it is need to analyze factors that affected by intent to use. This study conducted research based on literature studies and empirical studies, and developed a research model to analyze factors affecting the users' intention of smart tolling system based on technology acceptance model (TAM) and value based acceptance model. The main variables of the research model are service characteristics (convenience, reliability), technical characteristics (flexibility, stability), environmental characteristics (switching cost, effectiveness of policy) and intention to use. To test the hypotheses set in this study, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis were performed using the SPSS 22.0 program statistical package and AMOSS 18.0. The convenience and reliability presented by service characteristics did not affect the intention to use of smart tolling service.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 모바일 인터넷의 실제 사용만족도에 영향을 미치는 잠재변수들을 탐색하고, 요인들 간의 복합적인 영향관계를 추정하는 것이다. 종속변수인 모바일 인터넷 사용만족도와 독립변수들 간의 관계적 유의성을 검증하기 위해서 DeLone과 McLean의 연구로부터 정보 품질, 시스템 품질, 서비스 품질을 재정의 하였고, 보안성이나 요금과 같은 새로운 변수들을 추가하였다. 최근까지 정보기술이나 서비스의 사용성에 관한 대다수 연구들은 기술수용모델(Technology Acceptance Model, TAM)을 채택하는 경향을 보였으며, 또한 모바일 인터넷에 특화된 심층적인 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 모바일 인터넷 분야의 고유적 특성에 적합한 연구모형을 개발하였고, 비중 있게 다루지 않았던 보안성, 요금특성이라는 변수의 유의성을 검증하였다는데 의미가 있다. 이를 위해, 435개의 표본 서베이를 통한 실증적 분석을 수행하였고, 다중회귀분석과 구조방정식 모형분석을 통해 변수 간 상호관련성을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 정보 품질, 시스템 품질, 서비스 품질 요금특성, 보안성에 대한 유의성이 검증되었다.

Factors Influencing the Reuse of Mobile Payment Services in Retail

  • Purpose: This study tests the suitability of a new technology acceptance model for a mobile payment system by checking how statistically significant the change is from the UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) and UTAUT 2 models. Research, Data, and Methodology: We surveyed 250 students at Incheon University who are using the mobile payment system. The analysis was conducted on 243 valid questionnaires. The survey was conducted for one month in October 2018. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and hierarchical regression analysis was applied. Results: Using hierarchical regression analysis, this study confirmed whether the newly added hedonic motivation, switching cost, and perceived risk variables in the UTAUT2 model are good explanatory variables. Mobile payment usage experience was found to have a moderating effect on mobile payment reuse intention. According to the analysis, the UTAUT2 model brought about more influential change than the variables of the UTAUT model. Conclusions: This study found that consumers' psychological factors added in the UTAUT2 model greatly influenced the reuse intention for mobile payment. As an implication of this study, mobile payment providers need to develop strategies that could meet hedonic motivation, switching cost and perceived risk for their customers.

마스터데이터관리 이해도가 국방 마스터데이터관리시스템 수용에 미치는 사용자 집단별 차이 분석 (The Effect of MDM Understanding on MDM Acceptances : A Cross-COI Study on Military and Non-military Users)

  • It has been found that users' characteristics are important variables that explain information systems adoption. These user groups, which are called COIs (Community Of Interests), might show different behaviors to each other to the same information system. We study differences in MDM (master data management) system adoption between military users and SI developers using TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). In case of military users, the perceived usefulness of an MDM system does not have impacts on intention to use an MDM system. Only the ease of use of an MDM system has impacts on intention to use an MDM system. However, in case of SI developers, both the perceived usefulness and the ease of use of an MDM system have impacts on intention to use an MDM system, which are similar to findings in previous studies. These results might be interpreted that users do not pay much attention to the usefulness in adopting a new information system in a centralized organization. They are obligated to use an information system whether it is useful or not. Thus the ease of use has more impacts on users than the usefulness.

전통시장의 기술수용이 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 증강현실(AR) 기술을 중심으로 (The Study on the Influence of Technology Acceptance in the Traditional Markets for Consumer Purchasing Intention: Based on Augmented Reality Technology)

  • Purpose - This study has been conducted based on the assumption that technology acceptance for the traditional markets introduce Augmented Reality Technology system into traditional markets in order to increase the influence on consumer purchasing intention. The Augmented Reality Technology system on this study has been carried out by a modeling study based on Davis(1989)'s Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Research design, data, and methodology - Before starting the research, we inquired previous researches and defined the basic concept for each research with applying some parts of them. By doing this, we were able to find out if the users had perceived ease of use and the feeling of usefulness for the technology acceptance in using traditional markets. As a result, we measured how efficiently those factors could have an influence on traditional market visit. Moreover, we analyzed the result with actual proofs, assuming that such a visiting intention would affect consumers purchasing intention Results - To summarize the results, first, we have found that the necessity for augmented reality technology for traditional markets and its convenience in use can have a positive effect on visiting traditional markets. Second, we have discovered that the feeling of easiness in use, technological usefulness, and its visiting intention for Augmented Reality Technology can positively influence on the users' purchasing intention. Conclusions - By taking advantage of the research results from this study, the technological acceptance for the traditional markets suggests not only a positive impact on the users' visiting traditional markets but also an influence on the users' purchasing intention for the goods that are sold in the traditional markets. The weak point of this study is that it did not have sufficient theoretical explanation for technological acceptance in traditional markets, and it also lacked theoretical research to apply Augmented Reality Technology to the distribution industry. In order to overcome these drawbacks, we have to conduct thoughtful empirical analysis and research. Lastly, we insist that we will have to carefully verify reliability for the questionnaire data collected by the Internet survey panels in the future.

음악추천시스템의 수용성에 개인감정과 상황이 미치는 영향 (Impact of Sentimental and Contextual Factors on the Acceptance of Music Recommender Systems)

  • 추천시스템은 정보기술의 발달에 따른 정보의 홍수 속에서 사용자의 요구 사항과 선호를 바탕으로 사용자와 공급자 양측의 이익을 위해 사용자가 합당한 제품을 선택하기 위한 개인화된 의사결정 지원수단이라고 할 수 있다. 지금까지의 추천시스템에 관한 연구가 주로 공급자의 입장에서 추천시스템의 개선에 관한 연구들이거나 추천시스템 평가에 관한 연구가 대부분이어서 본 논문에서는 수요자의 입장에서 개인감정과 상황이 음악추천시스템의 수용성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 수정된 TAM을 기반으로 하여 관련 선행연구를 통해 검증된 변수를 기반으로 도출된 잠재변수와 측정치를 바탕으로 연구모형을 설정하고 이를 측정하기 위해 설문조사를 실시하여 다층구조 (High-Order Construct) 구조방정식모형을 통해 이를 분석하였다. 연구결과 개인감정 중에서 내적흥미와 즐거움은 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 자기효능감은 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났고 개인상황에 있어서는 사회적영향과 시간적합성은 유의한영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 장소적합성은 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.

원전 터빈사이클 성능 데이터의 검증 모델에 의한 성능분석 기법의 개발 (Development of Performance Analysis Methodology for Nuclear Power Plant Turbine Cycle Using Validation Model of Performance Measurements)

  • Verification of measurements is required for precise evaluation of turbine cycle performance in nuclear power plant. We assumed that initial acceptance data and design data of the plant could provide correlation information between performance data. The data can be used as sample sets for the correct estimation model of measurement value. The modeling was done practically by using regression model based on plant design data, plant acceptance data and verified plant performance data of domestic nuclear power plant. We can construct more robust performance analysis system for an operation nuclear power plant with this validation scheme.

전자의무기록시스템의 수용요인 (The Acceptance Factors for Electronic Medical Record System)

  • 본 연구에서는 의료기관에서 진료의 질 향상을 위해 도입하고 있는 전자의무기록 (Electronic Medical Record : EMR)시스템의 수용 및 활용을 결정짓는 요인들을 분석하였다. 전자의무기록에 대한 기존 연구를 바탕으로 하여 측정변수와 요인들을 정의하였고, 현재 EMR시스템을 구축하여 운용하고 있는 종합병원으로 부터 수집된 데이터로 실증분석을 하였다. 요인들 사이의 상관관계를 분석하기 위하여 연구모델을 구축하였고, 이를 바탕으로 요인들 사이의 관계를 규정하는 가설을 설정하였고, 이 가설들을 구조방정식 (Structural Equation Model : SEM)을 통해서 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 의하면 EMR시스템의 수용 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인은 의료기관의 경영전략 이고, EMR시스템의 수용은 EMR시스템의 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판명되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 한국의 의료기관들이 EMR시스템을 구축하거나 운용하는데 있어서 중요한 참고자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

어플라이언스 시스템의 혁신특성과 품질이 채택의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Innovation Characteristics and Quality of Appliance Systems on Intention to Adopt)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to grasp the level of effects innovative features and quality of the appliance system on organizational performance and ultimately analyze the willingness of the IT staff to adopt an appliance system. Methods: The survey was conducted on 350 vendors' clients and partners who currently use an appliance system from March to May 2014. A total of 331 effective questionnaires were collected and analyzed using PASW18 and SmartPLS. Results: The results show that relative advantage, facilitating condition and trialability and quality factors all had an effect on organizational performance expectations. Further, when an appliance system is adopted, it was shown that cost and reliability emphasized by a vendor did not produce any significant effects on organizational performance expectations. Conclusion: This study is significant as it is the first to combine such models as Innovation Diffusion Theory, Information Systems Success Model, and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology with a new external variable. In addition, it illustrated how variables affect the adoption of an appliance system such as a new innovation system.
