One field identified by an inverse method is one of multiple candidate solutions those are independently obtained through a specific estimation technique. While averaging of optimized fields can provide a better description of the spatial feature of an unknown field, it deteriorates the flow and transport characteristics of the optimized fields. As a result, the averaged field is not suited for modeling aquifer performances. Based on genetic algorithm, an optimal field synthesis technique is developed, which combines diversely optimized fields into a refined group of fields. Each field in the population is paired, and a sub-region of each field is exchanged by crossover operation to create a group of synthesized fields of enhanced modeling capability. The population of the fields is evolved till the synthesized fields become sufficiently similar. Applications of the optimal field synthesis to synthetic cases indicate that the objective functions of the fields assessing the modeling capabilities are further reduced after the optimal field synthesis. The identified fields from various inverse techniques may yield a range of modeling results under varied flow situations. The uncertainty is narrowed down through the optimal field synthesis and the associated modeling results converge on that of the reference field. The developed inverse modeling facilitates the construction of a reliable simulation model and hence trustworthy predictions of the future performances.

Stink bug, Canthecona furcellatta (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is an important predator of silkworm larvae. Nymphs and adult attack the early stage silkworm larvae and causes about 10-15 per cent loss to silk industry. Synthetic organic pesticides has tremendous impact on minimizing the pest population but repeated and frequent use has created problems of residual toxicity, development of resistance to insecticides, pest resurgence and out break, phyto-toxicity and hazards to non target species and beneficial organism. Silkworms are very sensitive to pesticides; therefore, attempt has made to control the bug population through introduction of its native natural enemies in the silkworm-rearing field. Biological control has tremendous scope in sericulture because it is eco-friendly in nature and non-harmful farmers. Native natural enemies have been screened. Psix striaticeps, Trissolcus spp. and Telenomus spp. have been recorded as the most potential parasitoid against pentatomid bug. Life cycle, sex ratio and other various attributes of the par-asitoids have been recorded. The parasitization potential of the parasitoid is very high and they have the ability to discriminate between parasitized and unpar-asitized host. Mass propopagation technique under laboratory condition has been standaydized.
In the process of crossbreeding, the linkage disequilibria between the quantitative trait loci (QTL) and their linked markers were reduced gradually with increasing generations. To study the potential of QTL mapping using the crossbred population, we presented a mixed effect model that treated the mean allelic value of the different founder populations as the fixed effect and the allelic deviation from the population mean as random effect. It was assumed that there were fifty QTLs having effect on the trait variation, the population mean and variance were divided to each QTL in founder generation in our model. Only the additive effect was considered in this model for simulation. Six schemes (S1-S6) of crossbreeding were studied. The selection index was used to evaluate the synthetic breeding value of two traits of the individual in the scheme of S2, S4 and S6, and the individuals with high selection index were chosen as the parents of the next generation. Random selection was used in the scheme of S1, S3 and S5. In this study, we premised a QTL explained 40% of the genetic variance was located in a region of 20 cM by the linkage analysis previously. The log likelihood ratio (log LR) was calculated to determine the presence of a QTL at the particular chromosomal position in each of the generations from the fourth to twentieth. The profiles of log LR and the number of the highest log LR located in the region of 5, 10 and 20 cM were compared between different generations and schemes. The profiles and the correct number reduced gradually with the generations increasing in the schemes of S2, S4 and S6, but both of them increased in the schemes of S1, S3 and S5. From the results, we concluded that the crossbreeding population undergoing random selection was suitable for improving the resolution of QTL mapping. Even experiencing index selection, there was still enough variation existing within the crossbred population before the fourteenth generation that could be used to refine the location of QTL in the chromosome region.
These studies were conducted to investigate the development of chemical resistance in two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch) through alternate selection for a given period of time with four acaricides including ethion of organophophours compound, dicofol of organo-chlorine compound, cyhexatin of organo-tin compound, and biphenthrin of synthetic pyrethroid compound; and to examine multiple-resistance among the acaricides to the selected populations. The development levels of chemical resistance in the two-spotted spider mite were greatly varied under alternate selection with the different chemical-group combination of four acaricides. Resistant levels of the ethion/dicofol-selected population at 13th-13th generation showed 49.4-fold resistance to ethion and 18.1-fold to dicofol; the ethion/cyhexatin-selected population at 9th-9th generation exhibited 28.1-fold to ethion and 5-fold to cyhexatin; the ethion/biphenthrin-selectd population at 10th-10th generation revealed 39.8-fold to ethion and 19.2-fold to biphenthrin. However, the dicofol/cyhexatin-selected population at 9th-9th generation showed 11.3-fold to dicofol and 4.9-fold to cyhexatin, and the dicofol/biphenthrin-selected population at 12th-12th generation exhibited 11.2-fold to dicofol and 9.4- fold to biphenthrin, while the cyhexatin/biphenthrin-selected population at 9th-9th generation revealed 3.7-fold to cyhexatin and 7.7-fold to biphenthrin. In case of alternate selection, the ehtion/dicofol-selected population revealed moderate multiple-resistance level to biphenthrin. The ethion/cyhexatin-selected and the ethion/biphenthrin-selected populations showed low mutiple-resistance level to biphenthrin and dicofol, respectively. However, the dicofol/cyhexatin-selected, the dicofol/biphenthrin-selected and the cyhexatin/biphenthrin-selected populations exhibited high multiple-resistance level to ethion.

The protection of silkworm and its host plants from various kinds of pests parasite and predator is a chronic problem in sericulture. Silkworms and its primary food plants are heavily damaged by large number of pest. The major pests of primary tasar food plants (Terminalia arjuna and Terminalia tomentosa) are the gall insect (Trioza fletcheri minor). Various species of aphids (Eutrichosiphum sp.) have been recorded to damage oak tasar food plants whereas muga silkworm host plants (Machilus bombycina and Litsaea polyantha) are generally attacked by stem bores (Zeuzera multistrigata). Castor (Ricinus communis) is one of the primary host plant of eri silkworm and extensive damage is caused by the castor white fly (Trialeurodes ricini). Insects pests are major enemies of silkworms. Parasites (Blepharipa zebina, Exorista bombycis, Apateles glomeratus), predators (Canthecona furcellata, Sycanus collaris, Hierodulla bipapilla), wasps (Vespa orientalix) and ants (Oecophylla smargdina) continues to cause damage to silk industry. It is estimated that the losses due to parasites and predators are to an extent of 15-20 percent and varies from crop to crop. The complexities in the behaviour and life cycle of pest population existing in semi ecosystem warrant a special attention for their effective management specially in changing scenario for our modern sericulture. Though use of synthetic insecticides has provided us with effective control of almost all major pests and predators, yet their undesirable side effects limit their continued use. Biological control is one of the most important method which can be used to control the pests, parasites and predators population in sericulture. Various potential parasitoids, which can be utilized as an agent of biological control in sericulture have been screened. The natural enemies of the uzi fly (E. bombycis and B. zebina ) are already present in the nature. Nesolynx thymus, Trichria sp., Splangia endius, Dirhinus sp., Trichopria sp., Trichomalopsis apanteloctena and Pediobius sp. are the major parasitoids effective against uzi fly pupa. The scelionid Psix striaticeps and Trissolcus sp. are the Potential egg Parasitoids against stink bug (Canthecona furcellata). Various other native natural potential parasitoids have been screened and suitable strategies have been developed to check the population of pest insect in sericulture.
This study was carried out to build up new synthetic egg Production lines which had sex linked gene for feather color sexing and had also superior combining ability for producing the best commercial chicks. In order to make autosexing layer line, the commercial layers which had Z$^{s}$ Z$^{s}$ and Z$^{s}$ W were mated. Among progeny, the chicks which had homozygote of silver gene and non-silver gene were selected for making dam and sire lines. Afterwards the closed flock breeding method was utilized to improve general performances of the each line. The performances of egg production in synthetic line were 161 day for age at sexual maturity, 219 eggs for total egg number to 60 weeks of age, 84% for hen-day egg production and 619 for average egg weight. There was no difference in egg production between new synthetic lines and imported breeds. In the analysis of genetic trends, the estimates of genetic parameter in the autosexing lines were similar to those of the general population of layer breeders. This results indicated the consistency of genetic variation from this selection.
I will present a new approach to constrain galaxy physical parameters from the combined interpretation of stellar and nebular emission in wide ranges of observations. This approach relies on a comprehensive library of synthetic spectra, assembled using state-of-the-art models of star formation and chemical enrichment histories, stellar population synthesis, nebular emission and attenuation by dust. We focus on the constraints set by 5-band photometry and low- and medium-resolution spectroscopy at optical rest wavelengths on a few physical parameters characterizing the stars and interstellar medium. Since these parameters cannot be known a priori for any galaxy sample, we assess the accuracy to which they can be retrieved by simulating 'pseudo-observations' using models with known parameters. We find that the combined analysis of stellar and nebular emission in low-resolution (50A FWHM) galaxy spectra provides valuable constraints on all physical parameters. The approach can be extended to the analysis of any type of observation and during this talk i will present some applications to observed galaxies up to redshift 1.5.
Cadimium ion-resistant microorganism was isolated from the sludge of wastewater. The physiological, morphological and other cultural data showed that this strain belonged to Citrobacter freudii. A clearcut distinction of growth among nutrient broth, typtic soy broth and synthetic medium was demonstrated. The resistant cells showed only slight mutagenic action. During the growth of bacterial population in resting state, the organisms reduced the initial level of resistance to cadmium ions when they were not kept in contact with cadmium ions in bacteral multiplication. And cadmium ion-resistant and cadmium ion-sensitive strain were found to show equal, lower or higher sensitivity to other heave metals.

Small area estimation had been studied using data-based methods such as Direct, Indirect, Synthetic methods. However recently, model-based such as based on regression or time series estimation methods are applied to the study. In this paper we investigate a model-data based small area estimation which takes into account the spatial relation among the areas. The Economic Active Population Survey in 2001 are used for analysis and the results from the model based and model-data based estimation are compared with using MSE(Mean squared error), MAE(Mean absolute error) and MB(Mean bias).
The scale and the extent of a aging of population of a rural are more serious than those of a urban in China. However, the welfare policy and the service for the aged in the rural are inferior. China established the different systems of social welfare policy for the city and the rural and has administered it since the china was established. Owing to an open-door policy(opening of a reform) the gap between the two got more deeply distinguished. Accordingly. the striking difference is shown in a living environment and a quality of life of the cities and the rural. I made clear the difference of services for the aged in the rural and the urban examining daily lives, medical industry, recreation systems and so on and analyzing their sources. In addition, I proposed the ways to establish synthetic social welfare policy of the urban and the rural.
