합성천연가스의 조성변화에 따른 확산화염 연소특성 (Characteristics of Non-premixed Synthetic Natural Gas-Air Flame with Variation in Fuel Compositions)

  • 석탄을 개질한 합성천연가스의 조성에 변화가 있을 경우 화염의 연소특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 동축 공기 합성천연가스 확산화염을 구현하여 연료조성에 따른 화염안정성과 화염구조, 분광특성, 온도분포를 실험적인 방법으로 연구하는 것이다. 각 화염의 분광특성을 관찰하기 위하여 분광기를 사용하였으며 연소장 내 온도측정을 위하여 K 형 열전대를 사용하였다. 연료 분사기 출구속도는 $u_F$ =5~40 m/s 사이에서 조절하였고 공기 분사기 출구속도는 $u_A$ =0~0.43 m/s 사이에서 조절하였다. 연소 동특성에 대한 실험을 통해 합성천연가스에 수소 성분이 증가하면 화염안정화 영역이 증가하고 부상화염 높이가 낮아져 화염길이가 짧아지는 것을 알 수 있었다.

SATELLITE SAR OBSERVATION OF SOLITARY INTERNAL WAVE OCCURRENCE IN THE NORTHERN SOUTH CHINA SEA

  • Satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images from 1995 to 2001 and field measurements of sea surface wind, sea state, and vertical stratification are used for statistical analyses of internal wave (IW) occurrence and SAR imaging conditions in the northern South China Sea (NSCS). Latitudinal distribution of IW packets shows that 22% of IW packets distributed in the east of $118^{\circ}E$ and 78% of IW packets in the west of $118^{\circ}E$. The yearly distribution of IW occurrence frequencies reveals an interannual variability. The monthly SAR-observed IW occurrence frequencies show that the high frequencies are distributed from April to July and reach a peak in June. The low occurrence frequencies are distributed in winter from December to February of next year. These statistical features are explained by solitary wave dynamics.

Flow Actuation by DC Surface Discharge Plasma Actuator in Different Discharge Modes

  • Aerodynamic flow control phenomena were investigated with a low-current DC surface discharge plasma actuator. The plasma actuator was found to operate in three different discharge modes with similar discharge currents of about 1 mA or less. Stable continuous DC discharge without audible noise was obtained at higher ballast resistances and lower discharge currents. However, even with continuous DC power input, a low-frequency self-pulsed discharge was obtained at lower ballast resistances, and a high-frequency self-pulsed discharge was obtained at higher set-point currents and higher ballast resistances, both with audible noise. The Schlieren image reveals that the low-frequency self-pulsed mode produces a synthetic jet-like flow implying that a gas heating effect plays a role, even though the discharge current is small. The high-frequency self-pulsed mode produces pulsed jets in a tangent direction, and the continuous DC mode produces a steady straight pressure wave. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) images reveal that the induced flow field by the low-frequency self-pulsed mode has flow propagating in the radial direction and centered between the electrodes. The high-frequency self-pulsed mode and continuous DC mode produce flow from the anode to the cathode. The perturbed region downstream of the cathode is larger in the high-frequency self-pulsed mode with similar maximum speeds.

Spatio temporal analysis of land subsidence due to declining groundwater levels in arid region of Pakistan using Sentinel-1 SAR imegery

  • In this paper we showed the application of European Space Agency's C-band Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery to identify land subsidence in a heavily groundwater pumping area. We used the repeat pass satellite interferometry method in combination with persistent scattering (PS) interferometric technique to generate and analyze twenty-eight interferograms for the period October 2014 to November 2016. The interferometry results show that land subsidence is more pronounced in the urban areas. Excessive groundwater pumping in the study area is believed to be the main reason for land subsidence. The results are compared with the subsidence rate measured by GPS as reported in other studies and with the mean change in total water storage field of GRACE solutions provided by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) and the Center for Space Research (CSR). The comparison shows persistently decreasing trends during the period of study. A strong reliance of the trend of land subsidence on the temporal decline in total water storage proposes that much of the land subsidence can be attributed to heavy pumping of the groundwater.

구리입자/메타아라미드 수지 복합재료 도포 스테인리스 철판의 적외선 방사 특성 (Infrared Emissivity of Stainless Steel Coated with Composites of Copper Particle and m-Aramid Resin)

  • 항공기 엔진 배기노즐 표면으로부터 적외선 방사를 낮추기 위한 연구의 일환으로 스테인리스 스틸 표면을 구리입자/메타 아라미드 수지 복합재료로 도포하여 $320^{\circ}C$에서 적외선 방사율을 측정하였다. 일반적인 충전제 입자 바인더 합성수지의 경우 $300^{\circ}C$이전에서 대부분 열분해를 일으키지만 메타 아라미드 수지는 $320^{\circ}C$에서도 열안정성을 보여 구리입자 분산 내열성 매트릭스 수지로 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 첨가한 구리입자 함량은 부피기준으로 0 ~ 70% 까지 변화시켰다. 구리입자/메타아라미드 복합재료 수지로 도포된 시편은 $320^{\circ}C$에서 적외선 방사율 측정 실험 후에 접착력이 우수하였다. 그리고 구리입자 함량이 부피 기준으로 50%인 구리입자/메타 아라미드 수지를 도포함으로써 시편의 $320^{\circ}C$ 적외선 방사율을 0.6 까지 낮출 수 있었다.

디젤오염토양 복원 효율 증진을 위한 음이온/비이온 계면활성제 토양세척공정에 초음파 적용 영향 (The Effect of Ultrasound Application to Anionic/Non-ionic Surfactant Aided Soil-washing Process for Enhancing Diesel Contaminated Soils Remediation)

  • Ultrasound and Surfactant aided soil washing process has been shown to be an effective method to remove diesel from soils. The use of surfactants can improve the mobility of diesel in soil-water systems by increasing solubility of adsorbed diesel into surfactant micelles. However, a large amount of surfactant is required for treatment. In addition, synthetic surfactants, specially anionic, are more toxic and the surfactant wastewater is hard to treat by conventional wastewater treatments even by AOPs. Ultrasound improves desorption of the diesel adsorbed on to soil. The mechanisms are based on physical breakage of bonds by hot spot, directly impact onto soil particle surface, the fragmentation of long-chain hydrocarbons by micro-jet and microstreaming in the soil pores. The use of ultrasound as an enhancement method in both anionic and nonionic surfactant aided soil-washing processes were studied. And all experiments were examined proceeded under CMC surfactant concentration, frequency 35 khz, power 400 W, Soil-water ratio 1:3(wt%), particle size 0.24 ~ 2mm and initial diesel concentration. 20,000 mg/kg. Combination with ultrasound showed significant enhancements on all the processes. Especially, nonionic surfactant Triton-X100 with ultrasound showed remarkable enhancements and diesel removal rate enhanced by ultrasound helps desorpting of surfactant adsorbed onto soils which prevented decreasing surfactant activity.

  • Printed electronics using printing process has broadened in all respects such as electrics (lighting, batteries, solar cells etc) as well as electronics (OLED, LCD, E-paper, transistor etc). Copper is considered to be a promising alternative to silver for printed electronics, due to very high conductivity at a low price. However, Copper is easily oxidized, and its oxide is non-conductive. This is the highest hurdle for making copper inks, since the heat and humidity that occurs during ink making and printing simply accelerates the oxidation process. A variety of chemical treatments including organic capping agents and metallic coating have been used to slow this oxidation. We have established synthetic conditions of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) which are resistant to oxidation and average diameter of 20 to 50nm. Specific resistivity should be less than $4\;{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ when sintered at lower temperature than $250^{\circ}C$ to be able to apply to conductive patterns of FPCBs using ink-jet printing. Through this study, the parameters to control average diameter of CuNPs were found to be the introduction of additive agent, the feeding rate of reducing agent, and reaction temperature. The CuNPs with various average diameters (58, 40, 26, 20nm) could be synthesized by controlling these parameters. The dispersed solution of CuNPs with an average size of 20 nm was made with nonpolar solvent containing 3 wt% of binder, and then coated onto glass substrate. After sintering the coated substrates at $250^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes in nitrogen atmosphere, metallic copper film resulted in a specific resistivity of $4.2\;{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$.

Comparison of Two Different Serum-free Media for In Vitro Culture of Bovine Embryos

  • The aim of the present study was to compare two different serum-free media, modified synthetic oviduct fluid (mSOF) and modified potassium simplex optimization medium (mKSOM) containing 20% RD (RPMI1640 + DMEM, 1:1 v/v) (RD-mKSOM), for in vitro culture (IVC) of bovine embryos. After in vitro maturation and fertilization, the presumptive zygotes were cultured in two different serum-free conditions for 7 days and 9 days to evaluate blastocyst formation and hatching, respectively. Serum supplemented conventional CR2 medium was used as control. After 7 day of culture, there was no significant difference in cleavage and blastocyst formation rates among three groups (mSOF, 59.3 and 30.1%; RD-mKSOM, 65.0 and 41.5%; control, 51.6 and 38.0%, respectively). Hatching rate was significantly higher in control (69.0%) than other experimental groups (mSOF, 22.0%; RD-mKSOM, 39.5%) (P<0.0001 and P<0.001, respectively). Although both serum-free conditions showed lower hatching rates than serum-added control, in serum-free groups, RD-mKSOM showed significantly higher hatching rate than mSOF (P<0.001). In addition, one-step using RD-mKSOM may facilitate IVC procedure than two-step culture system. In conclusion, the results indicate that one-step RD-mKSOM is more suitable defined culture system for IVC of bovine embryos than two-step mSOF.

제올라이트계 촉매의 기공구조 조절을 통한 항공유의 흡열량 향상 연구 (Improvement of Heat of Reaction of Jet Fuel Using Pore Structure Controlled Zeolite Catalyst)

  • 극초음속 비행체에서는 공기와의 마찰열과 엔진열의 증가로 기체 내부의 열적 부하가 발생한다. 이는 비행체 내부 구조물의 변형을 일으키고 오작동을 발생시킬 수 있다. 흡열연료는 액체 탄화수소 연료로써 흡열반응을 통해 열을 흡수할 수 있는 연료이다. 본 연구에서는 exo-tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene을 모델연료로써 선정하고 제올라이트 촉매의 금속담지를 통하여 흡열특성의 변화를 측정하는 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 상용촉매보다 우수한 흡열성능을 가지는 촉매를 확보하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 흡열량 향상에 미치는 촉매의 특성을 연구하는 것이다. 이 촉매는 상용촉매를 대체하여 exo-THDCP를 흡열연료로 사용하는 시스템에 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

SAR 원격탐사를 활용한 Galapagos Sierra Negra 화산의 최근 마그마 활동 추정 (Evaluation of Recent Magma Activity of Sierra Negra Volcano, Galapagos Using SAR Remote Sensing)

  • 화산체의 미세 지표변위 관측은 화산의 위험성과 분화 가능성을 평가하는데 중추적인 역할을 한다. 화산체 관측을 위해 고정 지상 관측 장비들을 이용할 경우 유지 관리가 어렵고 위험 및 비용 지출이 큰 반면, 인공위성을 이용한 원격탐사 기법은 저비용으로 정기적인 모니터링이 가능하다. 이 논문에서는 인공위성 합성개구레이더(Synthetic Aperture Radar; SAR) 간섭기법(Interferometric SAR; InSAR)을 Galapagos Sierra Negra 화산에 적용하여 2005년 화산분화 이전의 변형을 효과적으로 연구한 Chadwick et al.(2006)의 연구에 이어, 가장 최근에 이 화산체가 어떠한 화산활동을 하고 있는지를 최신 SAR 인공위성인 Sentinel-1자료를 이용하여 분화 전 마그마 활동을 분석하였다. 2017년 1월부터 2018년 1월까지의 descending mode Sentinel-1A SAR 영상을 취득하여 고정산란체 간섭기법(Persistent Scatter InSAR)을 적용하였으며, Mogi model을 통해 최근 마그마의 활동 깊이 및 팽창량을 추정하였다. 그 결과 2018년 6월 분화 이전의 화산체 활동 양상이 2005년 분화 이전의 활동 양상과 유사하다는 사실을 확인하였고, 활동 깊이와 팽창 반경을 추산해 내는 데 성공하였다. 본 연구 결과는 인공위성 SAR와 역산 기법을 통해 화산체의 활동 양상을 특징짓고 이를 통해 화산분화의 조기 모니터링 가능성을 제시하고 있다.
