Viewpoint interpolation of face images using an ellipsoid model (타원체 MODEL을 사용한 얼굴 영상의 시점합성에 관한 연구)

  • To establish eye contact in video teleconferencing, it is necessary to synthesize a front view image by viewpoint interpolation. We can find the viewing direction of a user, and interpolate an image seen from that viewpoint, which will result in a face image observed from the front. There are two categories of previous research: image based method and model based method. The former is simple to calculate, however, it shows limited performance for complex objects. And the latter is robust to noise while it is computationally expensive. We propose to approximate face images as ellipses and match them to build an ellipsoid and then synthesize a new image from a given virtual camera position. We show that it is simple and robust from various experiments.

  • The brand power is getting more important in apartment market so that consumers are accustomed to ask first what the apartment brand is when they are considering to buy an apartment. Even so the brand name is the first factor which approaches to the consumer, message and image can be delivered to customers by visual factors. Since visual image can be effective to remind of customers brand image, construction business company should make portfolio to synthesize brand Image actively. This research investigate images of consistency in extenor and interior design according to the apartments brand. Used lexical meaning of the adjective used to discern standard to extract images, selected survey, and evaluated by step 1 to 5 using semantic differential method, SD. The collected cases are analyzed by using statistics software SPSS for windows release 11.0. This research provides conveyance of the vision image which fits to the brand Image and further design direction.

3D model for korean-japanese sign language image communication (한-일 수화 영상통신을 위한 3차원 모델)

  • In this paper we propose a method of representing emotional experessions and lip shapes for sign language communication using 3-dimensional model. At first we employ the action units (AU) of facial action coding system(FACS) to display all shapes. Then we define 11 basic lip shapes and sounding times of each components in a syllable in order to synthesize the lip shapes more precisely for korean characters. Experimental results show that the proposed method could be used efficiently for the sign language image communication between different languages.

  • In this paper we propose a new algorithm which extracts spatial arrangement information of texture elements in structural textures. In the proposed algorithm, by the use of projection information in several directions obtained from the texture image we can get two directions which determine the texture structure and the parallelogram grid which isolates texture elements. The isolated texture elements are analyzed and used to synthesize texture images. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method can extract proper spatial structure of the texture element even when the texture image is highly corrupted by additive noise.

  • Is discussed. A method to extract feature points and to synthesize human facial images In 3-Dmodel-based ceding system, faciai feature points are extracted automatically using some image processing techniques and the known knowledge for human face. A wire frame model matched to human face Is transformed according to the motion of point using the extracted feature points. The synthesized Image Is produced by mapping the texture of initial front view Image onto the trarnsformed wire frame. Experinent results show that the synthesitzed image appears with little unnaturalness.

Fitting to Panchromatic Image for Pansharpening Combining Point-Jacobian MAP Estimation

  • This study presents a pansharpening method, so called FitPAN, to synthesize multispectral images at a higher resolution by exploiting a high-resolution image acquired in panchromatic modality. FitPAN is a modified version of the quadratic programming approach proposed in (Lee, 2008), which is designed to generate synthesized multispectral images similar to the multispectral images that would have been observed by the corresponding sensor at the same high resolution. The proposed scheme aims at reconstructing the multispectral images at the higher resolution with as less spectral distortion as possible. This study also proposes a sharpening process to eliminate some distortions appeared in the fused image of the higher resolution. It employs the Point-Jacobian MAP iteration utilizing the contextual information of the original panchromatic image. In this study, the new method was applied to the IKONOS 1m panchromatic and 4m multispectral data, and the results were compared with them of several current approaches. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve significant improvement in both spectral and block distortion.

Low Resolution Infrared Image Deep Convolution Neural Network for Embedded System

  • In this paper, we propose reinforced VGG style network structure for low performance embedded system to classify low resolution infrared image. The combination of reinforced VGG style network structure and global average pooling makes lower computational complexity and higher accuracy. The proposed method classify the synthesize image which have 9 class 3,723,328ea images made from OKTAL-SE tool. The reinforced VGG style network structure composed of 4 filters on input and 16 filters on output from max pooling layer shows about 34% lower computational complexity and about 2.4% higher accuracy then the first parameter minimized network structure made for embedded system composed of 8 filters on input and 8 filters on output from max pooling layer. Finally we get 96.1% accuracy model. Additionally we confirmed the about 31% lower inference lead time in ported C code.

  • This paper proposes an omni-directional image generation algorithm with parametric image compensation. The algorithm generates an omni-directional image by transforming each planar image to the spherical image on spherical coordinate. Parametric image compensation method is presented in order to compensate vignetting and illumination distortions caused by properties of a camera system and lighting condition. The proposed algorithm can generates realistic and seamless omni-directional video and synthesize any point of view from the stitched omni-directional image on the spherical image. Experimental results show that the proposed omni-directional system with vignetting and illumination compensation is approximately $1{\sim}4dB$ better than that which does not consider the said effects.

Comparision of Irregular Quadtree Decomposition with Full-search Block Matching for Synthesizing Intermediate Images

  • To allow multiple viewers to see the correct perspective and to provide a singh1 viewer with motion parallax cues during head movement, more than two views arc needed. Since it is prohibitive to acquire, process, and transmit a continuum of views, it. would preferable to acquire only a minimal set of views and to synthesize intermediate images. This paper presents how to synthesize the intermediate images using irregular quadtree decomposition and compares the proposed methods with full-search block matching. The image at the middle viewpoint between both viewpoints is synthesized and yields a 32.8 ㏈ peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) which is 2.8 ㏈ high and has a running time 30% of that for conventional full-search block matching.

Exploring Self-image Congruity and Regret for IS Continuance based on the Expectation-Confirmation Model

  • In order to understand information system post-adoption phenomena, the expectation-confirmation model (ECM) was proposed. Past studies based on the ECM focus on a referent centered on the target IS being studied. The effect of this reference, captured through confirmation, has been strongly shown. However, the saliency of two additional reference effects, captured through self-image congruity and regret, has not been explored. In order to fill this knowledge gap, this paper attempts to develop a research model that extends the ECM by incorporating self-image congruity and regret as well as perceived enjoyment. For this extension, we synthesize the extant literature on continued IS use, self-image congruity, and regret. The analysis results tell us that self-image congruity plays a key role in forming two post-adoption beliefs, perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. It is also found that the absolute effect of regret on continuance intention is larger than those of other antecedents identified in IS. Overall, this study preliminarily confirms the saliency of self-image congruity and regret in post-adoption phenomena. Our study results is likely to help the IS community systematically address unexplored effects of self-image congruity and regret.
