The purpose of this study was to design the ideal student uniform for improving the university image which is related to ideal PR (Public Relations). The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, as for the matter of UIP(University Identity Program), the uniform must transfer the university image. Using the UIP symbol color, the uniform is harmonious with university environment, and should be properly expressed visual image of the university. Secondly, the symbol which expressed the tradition and the spirit of the university was the very important factor to transfer its unique university identity and image of the university in the uniform design. The symbol which comes from the character or textile prints of the university symbolic flower or animals should transfer the consistent and unique design of university identity. Thirdly, the uniform has to be designed considering of the fashion trend as well as the essential factors for the uniform, considering such as functional, beautiful, symbolic aspects. In designing the uniform, fashion trend should be considered to combine the students and the uniform users to be one. As mentioned above, the uniform design which is suggested on this study should be helpful for the improvement of the university status and the reinforcement of the university PR.

Purpose - This study is an empirical study on the relationship of Thai consumers' attitude toward Korean Wave with the visit intention of Korean restaurants and a mediation effect of consumption value of Korean restaurants. Design/Methodology/Approach - Data were collected using a structured questionnaire of 245 Thai consumers and the hypotheses presented were verified by regression analysis and structural equation models. Findings - As a result of the empirical analysis, it was found that the higher the attractiveness and favorableness of Thai consumers for K-Wave, the higher the intention to visit Korean restaurants, and the Korean Wave attitude have a positive effect on the functional and symbolic values of Korean restaurants. In particular, the important result that can be presented in this study is that the better the attitude toward K-Wave, the higher the consumption value (functional/symbolic value) of Korean restaurants and the symbolic value plays a significant mediating effect on the relationship of the attitude of K-Wave and visiting intention, while the effect of functional value is not verified. Research Implication or Originality - These results means that in order to lead Thai consumers to a Korean restaurant using K-Wave, a strategy to make Thai ones perceive symbolic value of a Korean restaurant higher would be more effective. The main strategic implication of this study is that a high-end positioning strategy with a high symbolism, which make Korean restaurant as a suitable place as a means to show off one's value (or self) or as a means to show off one's social status (or role) to Thai consumers, will be relatively effective.

A disassembility assessment has mostly depend on the subjective decision making from the qualitative element. The work of disassembly is already classified with given disassemble points from the symbolic chart method. It is not useful in the practical assessment because it is not specified. The new method of design for disassembility assessment(DFDA) is practical to introduce the fuzzy number as the conversion of quantitative element from qualitative. It is appled to air-cleaner of passenger-vehicle for the usefulness.

We propose a new category of hybrid multi-layer neural networks with hetero nodes such as Fuzzy Set based Polynomial Neurons (FSPNs) and Polynomial Neurons (PNs). These networks are based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron. We develop a comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization and genetic algorithms, in particular. The augmented genetically optimized HFPNN (namely gHFPNN) results in a structurally optimized structure and comes with a higher level of flexibility in comparison to the one we encounter in the conventional HFPNN. The GA-based design procedure being applied at each layer of HFPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes (FPNs or PNs) available within the HFPNN. In the sequel, two general optimization mechanisms are explored. First, the structural optimization is realized via GAs whereas the ensuing detailed parametric optimization is carried out in the setting of a standard least square method-based learning. The performance of the gHFPNNs quantified through experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarks-synthetic and experimental data already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling.

Korean traditional wedding ceremony was conducted with some regular procedure and there were used some Gyubang crafts for wedding ceremony. But perhaps there has not been systematic information about them. Nowadays there is common the western style wedding ceremony instead of traditional style in Korea. So the decrease in the use of them have being appeared. Purposes of this study are to organize the resources about them systematically data of Gyubang crafts used traditional wedding ceremony, and to investigate characteristics of them for propose some idea of application them in the life of today. The results are as follows : Gyubang crafts used traditional wedding ceremony can be separated roughly into four types in use : wrapping clothes, cloth bags, ornaments and items related to sewing. They were apt to be traditionality, symbolic meaning and shamanism, and were superior in aesthetic sense, the effect of decoration and technical skill than other Gyubang crafts. There'll be some follow-up studies on ideas for preserving and appling in modern life.

This article deals with a proportional analysis of Cologne Cathedral with regard to the medieval tradition of geometry and figurate numbers that were commonly used in the medieval period. It first outlines symbolic and geometric notions of the geometry and numbers during the medieval period, and then, interprets the proportional design of the plan and section of the cathedral in analogy with the notion. It concludes that the proportional design of the cathedral was not quite arbitrary but carefully designed for the systematic and symbolic quality of the medieval aesthetic tradition.

The Landscape drawing is used as main media in landscape design process like the language in daily life for human. Designers input many intentions and meaningful words in design process through landscape drawing. The common purpose of landscape drawing is to represent reality effectively, even though it has variable visual forms and materiality. The representation in landscape drawing in metaphorical as well as visual and functional. But current tendency is inclined to use landscape drawing in a functional aspect for visual representation and the landscape drawing is utilized straight-forwardly rather than metaphorically for clear communication. Such recognition on landscape drawing results from the difficulty to accept the symbolic aspect of the drawing. The difficulty makes the utilization and the interpretation of landscape drawing stay at conventional level in following visible factors. For the sake of solving the difficulty this study considers landscape drawing as the text that contains readable objects and symbolic words. This study presents layer-methods for reading a landscape drawing as a text; situational and contextural reading, iconological reading and reading the subject of drawing.

The purpose of this study is to express display space according to a way of symbols' meanings, to apply and study the way that systemizes, specifies and objectifies the approaches to designs when the space is expressed. The study will present applicable characteristics in expressing the display space by analyzing visitors' symbolic nature prior to the specification of space expression. The study way is to analyze the definition, structure, system, characteristic and meaning-applied ways of the symbols through symbolic theoretical considerations, to show communication's accessibility applying the symbol-produced ways to the relationship between the conception and the components in expressing the exhibition space and finally to present the way to express the exhibition space through the symbols' meaning-produced ways.
