  • This paper presents active-clamp class-E high frequency resonant inverter with single-stage. The proposed circuit is integrated active-clamp class-E circuit to boost converter with the function of power factor correction. Boost converter is operated in positive and negative half cycle respectively at line frequency(60Hz), Such a operating in discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) of boost converter performs high power factor. By adding active-clamp circuit in class-E inverter, main switch of inverter part is operated not only ZVS(Zero Voltage Switch) but also reduced the switching voltage stress of main switch. This paper shows that simulation result using Psim 4.1 prove the validity of theoretical analysis. This proposed inverter will be able to be practically used as a power supply in various fields as induction heating applications, DC-DC converter etc.

  • This paper describes four switch three-phase Z-source rectifier with improved switching characteristics. This configuration has some advantages switching loss and optimal drive circuit. The rectifier has buck-boost function by shoot-through state. Also, the rectifier has the advantage of decreasing inrush current in start-up and transient states. In order to reduce harmonics PWM modulation technique with a variable index has been suggested. Four switch three-phase Z-source rectifier with improved switching characteristics can output stable DC voltage at the same time decreasing the system's harmonic current. And also the paper presents an application of DCC method in Z-source rectifier. Principles and dynamics of the system are discussed in detail. After having viewed the results we can confirm that the proposed method is eligible and efficient.

  • In this paper, a double scotch yoke mechanism for moving simultaneously the fixed contact and moving contact of a gas circuit brake, is proposed and designed to improve the breaking characteristics of the circuit breaker. Firstly, the design parameters of the scotch yoke are kinematically determined from the desired design condition of the circuit breaker. Next, the stroke curve of the moving contact is designed by considering the design parameter and the specified opening characteristics of electric contacts. Based on the scotch yoke and stroke curve, the dynamics of the electric contacts is analyzed using ADAMS model of switch mechanism.

  • Hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling controller is composed of a PD control and a fuzzy control for taking the advantage of each scheme. The key structure of the hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme is so called a switch which calculates weighting values between the fuzzy controller and the PD controller. However, due to the requirement of the switch , the hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme needs extra fuzzy logic processing, thus the structure is complicated. and requires more calculation time. To eliminate the drawbacks, a new hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme is proposed in this paper. In the proposed scheme, the membership function, for calculating of weithting value, and the input and output membership functions are combined. Thus the proposed hybrid scheme does not require switch for calculation of weighting value, and as a result, the calculation time is faster and the structure is more simple than the existing hybrid controller. Computer simulation results for an inverted pendulum model under Pole-Placement PID controller, fuzzy gain scheduling controller, existing hybrid controller , and proposed hybrid controller are compared to demonstrate the good property of the proposed hybrid controller.

  • Accelerated life test models and procedure are developed to assess the reliability of Door switch. The main function of door switch is to operate bulb lamp and fan motor. The accelerated life test method and test equipments are developed using the relationship between stresses and life characteristics of the products. Using the developed accelerated life test method, the parameters of the ALT model and life time distribution are estimated and the reliability of the Door S/W at use condition if assessed. The proposed accelerated life test method and procedure may be extended and applied to testing similar kinds of products to reduce test time and costs of the tests remarkably.

  • In this paper, we describe multifunction switch using micro-controller. Nowadays adaptation of automation technology in home and factory is increased rapidly. Utilization of computer is inevitable for implementation of home and factory automation. Accordingly interface technology between user and computer is needed. We present multifunction switch, which provides interface technology for implementation of automation system. And we can use this independently because micro-controller is loaded in this switch. Consequently we can apply this technology simply to the home and factory automation system using sequence control. Also we can apply this technology to various kinds of automation system independently and complexly.

  • This is a report of successful conversion arterial switch operation for failed Sunning procedure in transposition of the great arteries(TGA) with ventricular septal defect(VSD). A 15 month-male patient was admitted due to intractable congestive heart failure after Sunning operation was done at the age of 8 months. Angiography revealed marked dysfunction of the morphologic right ventricle with tricuspid regurgitation and residual VSD. The pulmonary ventricle 1 systemic ventricle pressure ratio' of 75/85 at catheter study enabled us to do the take down of denning repair, patch closure of VSD and arterial switch without pulmonary artery banding. After the operation, the baby showed good growth with normal ventricular function.

  • This paper investigates the failure of a car with a 2.5-liter CRDi engine of the Hyundai Company. The failure is caused by intermittent poor acceleration while driving. To analyze the cause, we investigated the air intake volume, the fuel injection, and the air-fuel ratio, which were determined to be normal. The brake switch signal error was discovered while analyzing the function that limits the output of the engine. While investigating the cause, we discovered the corrosion of the pins on the connector of the brake switch. We determined that it was generated by soapy water flowing in the solar film. Therefore, the cause of the failure was the brake switch signal errors. Additionally, we determined that ECM was the normal fail-safe mode that implemented the override device for safety during normal acceleration. Based on these results, further solar film experiments must be conducted to fully elucidate the causes.
