수확기 동상해 피해가 '부유' 단감의 저장 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Freeze Injury by Weather on Quality of 'Fuyu' Sweet Persimmon at Harvest and Subsequent Storage)

  • 단감은 수확 전 저온에 노출되는 경우가 종종 발생하며, 저온에 노출된 단감은 수확 후 저장 품질이 저하될 우려가 있다. 본 연구는 수확시기별 단감 과원의 기온이 '부유' 단감의 저장 품질에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 10월 중순에서 11월 중순 사이에 단감 과원의 기온변화를 관찰한 결과, 단감의 동상해를 유발하는 온도의 $-2.1^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온이 과수원에 5회 내습하였으며, 그 중 11월 19일 $-5.4^{\circ}C$로써 수확기 중 가장 낮은 기온을 기록하였다. $0^{\circ}C$의 저장고에서 150일 저장하는 동안, 세 처리구 중 3차 수확단감은 1, 2차와 비교하여 지속적으로 높은 a값을 유지하였지만 L값과 경도는 감소함에 따라서 이는 동상해 피해 증상으로 인한 품질저하로 판단된다. 반면에, 1차 수확단감은 저장기간 중 a값의 증가와 높은 경도를 일정하게 유지하여 수확 후 저장 중 후숙에 의한 변화로 보였다. 또한, 유리당 함량 변화에서 1, 2차 수확단감은 fructose, glucose 및 sucrose 모두 비슷한 수준을 유지하는 반면에 3차 수확단감은 fructose와 glucose 증가 및 sucrose 감소하는 경향을 보여주었다. 결론적으로, 기온저하가 급작스럽게 발생할 수 있는 11월 중순은 수확 및 저장 과실 품질 저하를 유도할 수 있어 적합하지 않는 시기이므로, 이 시기 전에 수확을 완료할 수 있도록 수확시기를 결정하는 것이 적합한 것으로 사료된다.

Development of a Rapid Molecular Detection Marker for Colletotrichum species with AFLP

  • Sweet persimmons have been increasingly cultivated in the southern part of Korea. However, anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum species is one of the major hindrances in cultivation and productions. In this study, we used polymerase chain reaction(PCR) to detect Colletotrichum species with the AFLP(amplified fragment length polymorphism) method. In AFLP, we used E3(5'-GACTGCGTACCAATTCTA-3') and M1(5'-GATGAGTCCTGAGTAACAG-3') primer combination and, as a result, 262 bp segment was observed in Colletotrichum species only. Specific PCR primers were designed from the sequence data and used to detect the presence of the fungus in genomic DNA isolated from symptomless sweet persimmon plants. Based on sequence data for specific segments, Co.B1(5'-GAGAGAGTAGAATTGCGCTG-3') and Co.B2(5'-CTACCATTCTTCTA GGTGGG-3') were designed to detect Colletotrichum species. The 220 bp segment was observed in Colletotrichum species only, but not in other fungal and bacterial isolates.

  • A research on agricultural automation is a main issues to overcome the shortage of labor in Korea. A sweet persimmon farmers need much time and labors for classifying profitable sweet persimmon and ill profitable products. In this paper, we propose a mixed two-step synthetic neural network model for efficiently classifying sweet persimmon images. In this model, we suggested a surface direction classification model and a quality screening model which constructed from image data sets. Also we studied Class Activation Mapping(CAM) for visualization to easily inspect the quality of the classified products. The proposed mixed two-step model showed high performance compared to the simple binary classification model and the multi-class classification model, and it was possible to easily identify the weak parts of the classification in a dataset.

  • We developed a new antibacterial material, a non-woven fabric, a sulfur solution, and a new adhesive system to manufacture a new type of functional hybrid corrugated board in previous studies. Based on experimental data, the prototypes of functional hybrid corrugated boards were manufactured and their physical properties and functionalities, including antibacterial property and the freshness maintenance of sweet persimmon, were measured in this study. The functional hybrid corrugated board could be manufactured in the actual process with linerboards, non-woven fabrics, and other materials without any troubles, and was strong enough to be used as a packaging box for agricultural products. The antibacterial property of the hybrid corrugated board showed a value high enough to eliminate bacteria, which could deteriorate the sweet persimmons. Based on appearance observations, weight loss and firmness measurements, the freshness of sweet persimmons in the functional hybrid corrugated board was maintained better than it was in the conventional corrugated board.

Differences in Tree Growth and Nutrient Absorption of Persimmon (Diospyros kaki) and Date Plum (D. lotus) Seedlings

  • D. kaki and D. lotus are used as rootstocks for astringent persimmons in Korea but characteristics of their seedlings have not been determined. In this experiment, their seeds were sown in 3-L pots on April 18 and the seedlings were grown until October 24. Growth and nutrient absorption were compared at the end of the season after destructively harvesting the seedlings. Seedling growth of D. lotus was much faster than that of D. kaki in terms of total stem length, stem diameter, and number of leaves. However, chlorophyll value and specific leaf weight were higher in D. kaki than in D. lotus. Dry weight of D. lotus was 3.6- and 3.7-fold higher than that of D. kaki in above-ground parts and the root, respectively. D. kaki seedlings were characterized by higher concentrations of N, P, K, Ca, and Mg in the leaves, stem, or the root. However, total contents of the elements were 1.8- to 3.7-fold higher in a D. lotus seedling due to its greater dry weight. Since D. lotus seedlings absorbed more inorganic elements on a tree basis and grew more vigorously than D. kaki seedlings, the level of fertilization for astringent persimmons should be adjusted depending on rootstocks to maintain the trees at the optimum vigor.

  • Pyebaek of Jeonju area based on the method prepared by late old madame Park, Bokja can be characterized as follows: First, vegetables which could be obtained locally constituted the main body of materials of Jeonju Pyebaek and animal foods used in Pyebaek were dried fishe for the most of times. In the pre-refrigerator era, the main reason behind the heavy uses of dried fish such as dried abalone or octopus instead of animal foods can be attributed to the easy availability of dried fish. In recent years, foods made of animal foods has been indispensible items. Second for the patterns and decorations of Pyebaek natural figures such as birds, flowers, butterflies, loaves and half moon were imitated in making of octopus cuttings, squid cuttings, Yakkwa, Hwajeon, Dried persimmons, Jeonbokssam, etc. Beef jerky, Yeotgangjeong were decorated beautifully with pine nuts, shredded dried dates and raisins. Many colors were used in various items of Jeonju Pyebaek such as Hwajeon, Songpyun, Saji. Finally, flavors of Jeonju Pyebaek are sweet and tasty of sesame oil.

Carrageenan을 이용한 포도 젤리와 몰드 샐러드 제조에 관한 연구 (Studies on Making Jelly and Mold Salad with Grape Extract)

  • This study attempted to examine the effect on sensory characteristics and physiochemical properties of Grape jelly in various volume of adding carrageenan. The pH of Grape extract was 3.98. The viscosity was increased and the turbidity was decreased according to the increase concentration Grape jelly. The sensory evaluation of Grape jelly was the best with the ratio 0.5% carrageenan. The sensory evaluation of Grape jelly mold salad showed that the most preferable jelly was the one made by 0.9% carrageenan and 40% fruits(apple, orange and sweet persimmons).

수출용 단감에 대한 Difenoconazole과 Thiamethoxam의 잔류특성 연구 (Residue Studies of Difenoconazole and Thiamethoxam during Cultivation of Sweet Persimmon for Export)

  • 국내 유망 수출 식품 중 잔류농약으로 인하여 수출 장애가 있는 식품을 대상으로 문제가 되는 농약에 대해 CAC 및 수출국의 농약잔류 허용기준 제안을 위한 작물잔류 시험을 수행하였다. 대상 작물은 수출용 단감이었고, difenoconazole과 thiamethoxam을 대상으로 시험을 수행하였다. Difenoconazole의 잔류량 범위는 0.2~0.56 mg/kg였고, thiamethoxam의 잔류량 범위는 0.08~0.28 mg/kg으로 두 약제 모두 수확 1일차 시료부터 MRL 농도 이하로 잔류량이 감소하였다. 따라서 안전사용기준에 따라 약제를 살포하고 수확한다면 국내에 설정된 MRL 기준을 충분히 만족시키는 것으로 확인되었다. Difenoconazole의 각 포장별 반감기는 각각 13.6, 19.4, 16.3일 이었고, thiamethoxam의 각 포장별 반감기는 각각 10.0, 15.3, 14.0일 이었다. Clothianidin의 잔류농도는 1개 지역에서 14, 28일 시료에서 검출되었으나, 농도는 0.03 mg/kg 이하였다.

  • This study was performed with 473 dwellers living in the cities, to study how purchasing intention was affected by the Korea important agricultural heritage system designation on Changwon sweet persimmon farming. This study identified the relationship between consumption value and purchase intention through Sheth's theory of consumption value. Functional, social, emotional, epistemic and symbolic values were all found to have a positive (+) effect on purchase intention, and among them, symbolic value properties were found to have the greatest impact. This study presents an important implication that emphasizing symbolism is most effective when establishing policies in the direction of promoting persimmon consumption in the Changwon area designated as Korea important agricultural heritage system.

단감의 박피가 영양성분 및 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Removed Peel from Sweet Persimmon on Nutritional Ingredients and Antioxidant Activities)

  • 단감의 이용성을 증대하기 위하여 전과와 과육을 각각 동결건조한 후 이화학적 특성 및 생리활성을 비교하였다. 섬유소, 비타민 C 및 무기물 함량은 전과에서 높았으나, 아미노산의 함량은 과육에서 약 1.4배 정도 높았다. 동결건조 된 단감의 물 및 에탄올 추출물 중 총 페놀화합물은 전과에서 유의적으로 높았으나, 플라보노이드 함량은 유의차가 없었다. 추출물의 농도를 달리하여 생리활성을 비교한 결과, 물추출물보다는 에탄올 추출물, 과육에 비해 전과에서 활성이 높았다. 특히, ABTS, NO 라디칼 소거능, 환원력 및 tyrosinase 저해활성은 모든 농도에서 전과가 과육에 비해 유의적으로 높았다. 따라서 단감 가공 시 전과의 이용은 섬유소 및 비타민 C의 섭취량뿐만 아니라 생리활성의 증가에도 유효할 것으로 예상되었다.
