Emotion Recognition using Short-Term Multi-Physiological Signals

  • Technology for emotion recognition is an essential part of human personality analysis. To define human personality characteristics, the existing method used the survey method. However, there are many cases where communication cannot make without considering emotions. Hence, emotional recognition technology is an essential element for communication but has also been adopted in many other fields. A person's emotions are revealed in various ways, typically including facial, speech, and biometric responses. Therefore, various methods can recognize emotions, e.g., images, voice signals, and physiological signals. Physiological signals are measured with biological sensors and analyzed to identify emotions. This study employed two sensor types. First, the existing method, the binary arousal-valence method, was subdivided into four levels to classify emotions in more detail. Then, based on the current techniques classified as High/Low, the model was further subdivided into multi-levels. Finally, signal characteristics were extracted using a 1-D Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and classified sixteen feelings. Although CNN was used to learn images in 2D, sensor data in 1D was used as the input in this paper. Finally, the proposed emotional recognition system was evaluated by measuring actual sensors.

위암 한의표준임상진료지침 개발을 위한 한의사 인식조사 (A Survey on Korean Medicine Doctors' Recognition for Developing Korean Medicine Clinical Practice Guidelines for Gastric Cancer)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to provide data for the development of Korean medicine (KM) clinical practice guidelines (CPG) for gastric cancer (GC) by identifying the awareness and knowledge needs of KM doctors (KMD) through an online survey. Methods: A survey questionnaire was produced by referring to the previous recognition survey studies for clinical KMDs. The survey questionnaire was composed of questions regarding the current status of clinical care for GC, the knowledge level of clinicians about GC, and other details that clinicians use during practice. The survey was conducted from September 20 to October 22, 2021. An online survey was conducted with 195 KMDs from the Society of Korean Medicine and the Korean Association of Traditional Oncology of KM. Results: A total of 195 respondents participated in the online survey regarding the current status of GC treatment. Of this number, 10.3% of the respondents specialize in GC, but even if they do not currently specialize in GC, they are more likely to treat patients with GC in the future. In terms of the specifics of KM treatment, there was a demand for information on comprehensive KM treatment methods, such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and chuna, as well as on analyzing the effectiveness of combined treatment with chemotherapy and radiation. Conclusion: In this study, we were able to understand the clinical KMDs' perception of GC, knowledge level, and requirements in the CPG. The results of this study will provide the basic data for the development of CPG for GC.

A Study on the Development Direction and Cognition of Viral Video

  • 바이럴 영상광고는 광고 및 영화산업에서 특정제품이나 개봉전 영화에 대한 사전 홍보 목적으로 활용되고 있으며, 투자 대비 많은 효과를 내고 있다. 향후 발전 방향을 예측해 보려면 바이럴 영상 인식에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 광고나 영화를 가장 많이 접하는 연령층인 20대 대학생 118명에 대한 바이럴 영상 설문조사를 하였다. 이를 통해 바이럴 영상에 대한 인지 여부, 기억에 남는 바이럴 영상, 만족도, 메시지 전파여부, 전파 방식, 바이럴 영상에 대한 긍정도, 향후 발전 예상, 희망하는 바이럴 영상 유형 등에 대한 설문을 실시하였다. 이 결과 바이럴 영상 인지도는 16.7%로 나타났고, 가장 기억에 남는 바이럴 영상으로 "겨울왕국" 영화의 "Let it Go" 영상이 설문조사 결과 69.1%로 나타났다. 바이럴 영상에 대한 만족도는 31.2%로 높지 않았으며, 바이럴영상을 시청한 후 타인에게 메시지를 전달한 경우는 73.5%로 높게 나타났다. 바이럴 영상에 대한 부정적 의견은 13.7%로 낮게 나타났으며, 바이럴 영상 분야가 64.5%는 "발전할 것이다"라고 답하였고, 6.7%는 "발전하지 못할 것이다"라고 답하였다.

Recognition of Designer's role between Designers and Non-designers

  • General recognition on the role of a designer has differently changed according to the age and region respectively. This research has clarified general recognition on a designer's role among a designer, experts that designers mainly perform co-work and an ordinary people in a period when the design identity is more confused than any other time. The results of this research are as follows. First, the 13 definitions on a role of a designer in a company were identified through field interview survey by presidents and practical responsible persons in design-specialized companies. Second, it was proved whether there is a difference in recognition on a role of a designer between designers and non-designers. Third, this research divided a group of non-designers into two groups such as a design job-related group mainly performing co-work with designer, and an ordinary people's group that doesn't major design. After that, this research found out the most sympathizing definition on a role of a designer at a company in three groups divided into a designer's group, a design job-related group and an ordinary people's group. The awareness on the role of designer was more objectively regulated three-dimensionally in all aspects of a designers group and a non-designers group. In addition, the findings of recognition difference of each group on a designer's role will help comprehensive understanding on each experts group and an ordinary people. The findings of the research will help in performing co-work of designers and non-designers in design decisionmaking based on understanding of this recognition.

일부지역 대학생의 식품위생 안전실태 및 행동인식 조사 (Survey on Actual Status and Recognition of Food Safety among Undergraduate Students)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to find out the actual status and recognition of food safety among undergraduates in some areas and verified the results. Method: 328 undergraduate students at two colleges in J-city, J-province were chosen and data were collected from May 10 to June 20, 2008 and analyzed. For data analysis, SPSS 12.0 Version was utilized. Results: Of the students surveyed 66.8% had experienced food poisoning. Of the students who had experienced food poisoning, 57.1% were treated after food poisoning. 75.6% of the students surveyed said that food safety recognition on food distribution was insufficient. The relationship between expectation and satisfaction of food safety was positive(r=.575, p<.01). Recognition scale of food hygiene behavior was 1.32 points on average. And recognition scale of personal hygiene was 1.24 points and recognition of food management related-hygiene was 1.39 points.

  • 현대사회에서 재난의 잠재력이 커질수록 재난을 대비하고 대응하는 국가의 체계를 보다 효율적으로 개선하고 강화하기 위하여 재난관리담당부서에서 근무하는 공무원을 대상으로 설문을 받아 분석하였다. 이 연구에서 알아보고자 한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 재난관리 기관 간 협력관계, 둘째, 재난관련법 제정 및 재난전담부서의 필요성 셋째, 재난관리 상황적 변수에 대한 인식으로 재난관리 상황요인에 대한 전반적 인식, 재난유형에 대한 전반적 인식, 재난규모에 따른 발생가능성에 대한 인식, 넷째, 재난관리의 구조적 변수에 대한 인식으로 재난관리에 대한 소방방재청, 유관기관, 지방자치단체의 인식 차이, 예방-대비-대응-복구단계의 혼선에 대한 인식에 대한 연구이다.

중학교 가정과 학습내용에 대한 예비중학생과 학부모의 인식 (Recognition of Contents in Home Economics Subject among Pre-middle School Students and Their Parents)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the recognition degrees of contents in Home Economics textbook for middle school students among pre-middle school students and their parents. It is for developing better Home Economics textbook. Three objectives of this study were ; 1) To find the recognition degrees of the fact that Home Economics subject is supposed to utilize for not only girls, but boys students in middle schools in 1996 among pre-middle school students and their parents. 2) To find the degrees of necessity in each field of Home Economics subject among pre-middle school students and their parents. 3) To find the differences in recognition degrees of understandings, attitudes, and sills of Home Economics subject between pre-middle school students and their parents. Questionnaire survey method was utilized to 1,205 sixth grade students and their parents in Pusan. The results of this study as follows; 1) It was low that the recognition degrees of the fact that Home Economics subject is supposed to utilize for both girls and boys in middle school among both pre-middle school students and their parents. This result implies that it is important to important to disseminate the curriculum change in Home Economics practice to the public. 2) It was high that the recognition degree of necessity in each field of Home Economics subject among pre-middle school students and their parents. The recognition degree were different according to sociodemographic factors. That is , $\circled1$the recognition degrees of students were lower than their parents; $\circled2$ the recognition degrees of parents who have high education were higher than those who have low education ; $\circled3$ the recognition degree of an environmental field was highest. 3) There were little differences between pre-middle school students and their parents in the recognition degrees of understandings, attitudes, and skills of Home Economics subjects: The recognition degrees of girls fathers showed higher scores than boys fathers those of in understandings and skills of Home Economics subject. The recognition degrees of girls fathers showed higher scores than those of girls in attitudes of Home Economics subject.

얼굴인식 기술동향 (Face Recognition: A Survey)

  • 생체 인식은 개인의 고유한 생체 정보를 획득하여 개인 식별에 이용하는 기술로, 그중 얼굴 인식은 사용자의 편의성과 비강제성이라는 장점이 있는 응용기술로 평가 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 얼굴인식 기술동향을 살펴보고 얼굴 영역 추출, 특정 추출, 매칭을 포함한 시스템에 대해 논한다. 얼굴 영역 추출에는 얼굴 형판 정합 방법과 얼굴 요소의 검출에 의한 방법을, 특정 추출에서는 PCA 와 LDA 등의 방법을, 그리고 매칭을 통한 인증 단계에서는 최근접 분류기를 소개한다. 다양한 얼굴 인식 기법들이 제시됨에 따라 공인된 성능 평가 방법이 필요하게 되는데, 대용량 표준 얼굴 DE의 구축과 얼굴 인식 성능 평가 방법 개발의 필요성을 제시한다. 향후 얼굴인식 시스템에서는 조명, 자세, 표정의 변화를 어떻게 보정하여 인식 할 것인가 하는 것이 연구되어야 할 핵심 분야로서 3차원 얼굴 영상 복원 기술을 통한 해결방법을 살펴본다.

성남지역 학교 영양(교)사와 학부모의 친환경농산물에 대한 인지도 (Recognition of Environmentally-friendly Agricultural Products for School Foodservice of Nutrition Teachers and Parents in 2018 at Seongnam in Gyeonggi province)

  • Objectives: This study examined the nutrition teachers' and parents' recognition of environmentally-friendly agricultural products (EAPs) used in school foodservice. Methods: A questionnaire survey was given to 128 school foodservice nutrition teachers in Seongnam and 189 parents from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31, 2018 at Seongnam in Gyeonggi province. The survey included information on the recognition, satisfaction, and improvement of EAPs, and the results of the two groups were compared. Results: A comparison of the recognition of EAPs showed that nutrition teachers knew more about the EAPs and local government support in school foodservice than the parents. On the other hand, the parents were more aware than the nutrition teachers in that children have a higher affinity for EAPs than for general agricultural products in the school foodservice. A comparison of the level of satisfaction with the EAPs by nutrition teachers and parents revealed the nutrition teachers to be significantly more satisfied than parents in terms of the color, taste and nutrition of EAPs. Among the items that should be provided with EAPs, more than 50% of each group of nutrition teachers and parents answered that vegetables must be provided first. Some 70.9% of nutrition teachers and 84.5% of parents were aware of the certification standards of EAPs. The nutrition teachers had showed a slightly higher score than the parents in the certification system (3.51 vs. 3.25). In terms of improving the EAPs, 36.2% of nutrition teachers answered a reasonable price preferentially, whereas 56.4% of parents answered maintaining quality. In the expected effects of using EAPs, 57.9% of nutrition teachers answered an improvement of parents' satisfaction on the school foodservice. On the other hand, 38.0% of parents answered an improvement of children' satisfaction on school foodservice. Conclusions: Nutrition teachers and parents need to be educated on the certification systems that would enhance the trust in EAPs.
