2018년에 발행된 반려동물 관련 산업 규모 추정 및 전망에 관한 논문에 따르면 2015년 기준 우리나라 반려동물 보유 가구중 26.9%가 30대 1인 가구이며, 부부로만 구성된 1세대 가구인 것이 확인되었다. 1인가구와 맞벌이 부부가 사회적으로 증가한 것과 관련하여, 반려동물이 원하지 않는 방치 시간의 급증과 훈련시간 부족이 문제가 된다고 판단된다. 본 논문은 레고마인드스톰을 이용한 반려동물의 훈련 및 관리를 위한 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 제품 개발을 진행하였다. 레고마인드 스톰은 다양한 센서를 구비하였고, 쉬운 조립 및 비주얼 스크립팅을 통한 간단한 프로그래밍으로 반려동물을 훈련하거나 케어하는 장비를 제작 할 수 있다. 또한 자체 모듈화가 잘 되어있어, 새로운 장비로 전환 또한 쉬울 것으로 예상한다. 이 연구를 통해 반려동물시장 확대가 활발해지는 때 반려동물의 훈련과 관리에 도움이 되길 기대한다.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to critically review the recent discourse on single-person households (SPH) that appeared in Korean newspapers. Specifically, we analyzed articles in five major daily newspapers, which are representative of the media in Korean society, and examined the types of titles, subjects, and contents of articles in which SPH were mentioned. Method: For this purpose, 538 articles on SPH or "living alone" that appeared in the five major Korean newspapers during 2011-2017 were analyzed using content analysis methods. Results: Our analysis revealed eight major topics(living arrangement and household characteristics; financial instruments; food, clothing, and housing culture; policy; welfare; relationships; safety; values and attitudes). The results show that there is a surge of articles portraying neutral images of SPH in Korean newspapers, thereby emphasizing the recent growth in the number of SPH and the information relating to this population group. Although negative images of SPH continue to exist in the discourse, in recent times we found these attitudes to have become less prevalent compared to neutral images or even positive discourse. We also found that the discourse on these topics and arguments can be divided into four themes-the diversity of SPHs, the solo economy for single households, safety issues, and social relationships. Conclusions: Theoretical and policy implications on family studies relating to SPH are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to analyze factors affecting US beef consumption intention in the future, to identify the causes of US beef import growth and to derive implications and strategies for domestic beef producers. Since the KORUS FTA was signed in 2012, US beef imports in 2017 totaled 379,064 tons, an annual increase of 3.5 percent. US beef imports have been steadily increasing due to cuts in FTA tariffs and changes in consumer preferences. The data used in this study utilized a sample of 3,290 grocery purchasers from the Korea Rural Economic Institute's 2016 Food Consumption Behavior Survey. The analytical method used the Ordered Logit Model to analyze what factors influence a consumer's subjective evaluation. As a result, the major factors affecting US beef consumption intention in the future are price, taste and safety. In particular, it has to do with the recent surge in U.S. imports of good-tasting chilled meat. Because chilled meat does not differentiate the market from Hanwoo beef produced in Korea, it is necessary to have differentiated taste and low price through cost reduction. By age and family group, people aged 30 - 40 years and single-person households are the main consumption group. As a result of this study, it is necessary to establish marketing strategies for producers such as rational pricing, safety, taste promotion, and small-scale sales to extend the demand for Hanwoo beef in the younger generation to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic beef market.

최근 1인 가구의 급증에 따라 고독사가 중요한 사회 문제로 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고독사 위험에 노출된 사회적 약자들을 보호하기 위하여 RFID를 활용한 적응형 모니터링 시스템을 개발한다. 개발된 시스템은 웨어러블 RFID 태그, 주거지 내 부착된 RFID 리더기, 사용자 모니터링 앱으로 구성된다. 개발된 시스템은 웨어러블 태그를 지닌 사용자가 리더기가 부착된 장소에 머무는 시간을 측정하고, 적응적으로 결정된 임계치를 초과할 때 보호자에게 긴급 알림을 전송한다. 아두이노를 기반으로 거주지를 모델링한 프로토타입을 구현함으로써 설계된 시스템의 효용성을 검증하였다.
