Inspection of the Diagnosis Report for Life Assessment of Engine Generator (내연발전기 건전성 판정을 위한 종합 진단결과 고찰)

  • This paper presents evaluating procedure for engine generator operated over 13 years which are usually installed at the island and therefore, isolated to the main distribution line. To decide continual operation of the generator, their diagnosis results should guarantee safety running. So the determination of criteria for continual usage or replacement is essential for economical and reliable maintenance. We present all the courses of evaluating the condition which includes the processes from acquiring basic data to comprehensive determination of generators. All the test was applied to serial number 3 generator in Jodo Engine Power Plant.

Assessment of Rotor Winding Insulation Condition for Gas Turbine Generators (가스터빈 발전기 회전자 권선의 절연상태 평가)

  • Several off-line diagnostic tests which include the insulation resistance(IR), polarization index(PI), low-voltage AC, and recurrent surge oscillograph(RSO) tests were performed to assess the condition of generator rotor windings. The low-voltage AC and the RSO tests were performed on the gas turbine generator rotor winding to detect shorted turns. Before intentionally applying artificial shorted faults, it was confirmed by the low voltage AC and the RSO tests that the winding was in sound condition. For simulated shorted rotor winding turns, the RSO test detected the fault in the winding. The RSO test was capable of identifying the number and pole location of the shorted turns for a number of simulated shorted coils.

  • The proper installation of SPD and the evaluation of the SPD protection distance are basic steps for the effective protection measures of apparatus against surges within a structure. A novel method for installing SPD on the conventional distribution board without any modification was proposed and it's effectiveness was evaluated by experiments. Also, the transient overvoltage occurred across the power line from the SPD to the load was simulated with EMTP software to see how different the protection distances affecting the magnitude of the transient overvoltage. As evaluated, the effective protection method of apparatus against surges, coordinated SPD protection system is suggested as a proper measure to protect within the apartment.

  • This paper analyses the transient phenomena against single line to ground fault and lightning surge between Korea and Japan on underground power cable systems. For analysis, find proper earthing resistance of neutral grounding system adopted in Japan. This paper is expected to contribute the establishment of proper protection methods against transients on underground power cable systems.

  • EMTP 프로그램으로 뇌써지 발생시 가공송전선로 등가모델 구현을 위한 필수적인 요소들과 비선형 요소들을 시간영역에서 해석이 가능하다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 EMTP를 이용하여 전력전송이 이루어지는 가공 송전 선로 등가모델을 구현하고 전송선로의 길이와 굵기, 뇌격전류의 크기를 변화시켜가면서 시뮬레이션을 통해 자료를 얻는다. 이 과정으로 얻어진 결과는 송전계통의 설계에 사용되어 안정적인 전력 전송에 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • This paper describes the transient phenomena considering transformer model in combined distribution systems with power cables. To evaluate the overvoltage, the change of transformer model and system structure are considered. Transformer parameters calculated by BCTRAN of EMTP are considered to evaluate surge generation in underground distribution systems when underground distribution system has various parameters. It is evaluated that overvoltage value increases and decreases according to the structure of system. However it is confirmed that there is not much effect to overvoltage as transformer is operated in distribution line.

  • Herein the surge-heave-pitch motion of a ship in harbor has been analyzed within the framework of linear potential theory. The ship is assumed to be slender and moored at an arbitrary position in a rectangular harbor with a constant depth. The coast line is assumed to be straight. The ship and harbor responses to incident long waves are represented in terms of Green's function, which is the solution of tole Helmholtz equation satisfying necessary boundary conditions. An integral equation is obtained from matching condition between harbor and ocean solutions, and it is replaced by an equivalent variational form. Numerical results sallow that the ship motion can be highly amplified at the frequencies, where the harbor is resonated by the incident wave. At the resonant frequencies, the added mass for vertical motions becomes negative and the damping forte changes abruptly.

  • In recent the on-line partial discharge (PD) measurement using sensors, such as EMC, SSC, RTD and RFCT, as an indicator of stator winding insulation condition has been developed. RFCT sensor was placed arounding a grounding lead of surge capacitor to detecting PD. Trend of PD magnitude/phase angle/pulse number over time are useful parameter to diagnosis aging state. We have developed Radio Frequency Current Transformer(RFCT) sensor which is suitable for PD diagnostic measurement in 6.6kV rotating machines. In this paper, we describe the characteristics of RFCT sensor, such as frequency and PD magnitude using 6.6 kV model stator winding in Lab.
