플랜트 부품용 상용 발수코팅의 고온 환경 고장 특성 비교 분석 (Failure Analysis of Commercial Water-Repellent Coatings for High Temperature Plant)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate failure characteristic and mechanism of four commercial water-repellent coatings for elevated temperature machinery applications. Method: Thermal degradation was performed for up to 64 thermal cycles. 1 cycle consists of 15 minute holding at 523K under 300rpm revolution and 15 minute-natural cooling. Contact angle was measured and microstructure of the coating layer was observed by using a scanning electron microscope. Results: Four kinds of commercial repellent coating showed hydrophobic or super-hydrophobic property implying that all coatings are suitable for room temperature application. Contact angle of three kinds of commercial coatings decreased rapidly after thermal exposure, while only one specimen having hydrophobic surface showed extremely slow degradation. Conclusion: Observed decrease in contact angle of the coatings were attributed to formation of macro-sized pores and disappearance of micro-protrusion during thermal exposure. Optimum water-repellent coating needs to be selected under the consideration of initial contact angle as sell as service temperature.

  • Nylon fabric was grafted for the purpose of the development of detergency against the hemoglobin as a protein soil. By free-radical producing chemical initiator systems the graft using acrylic acid(AA) as a hydrophilic vinyl monomer was performed to change surface energies in the presence of ammonium persulfate(APS) as an initiator and then acrylic acid grafted Nylon was treated with NaOH solution. The surface morphology for Nylon-g-NaAA with changing graft rate were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) The properties of the Nylon such as diameter tenacity elongation contact angle and the hemoglobin removal were also investigated. The diameter of grafted Nylon fiber increased as the graft ratio increased. The tenacity of grafted Nylon also increased with increasing graft ratio up to 15% The elongation however decreased gradually according to graft, The contact angle decreased after graft and alkaline treatment. The amount of hemoglobin on the grafted Nylon increased in proportion to the graft ratio. Hemoglobin was easily removed from grafted Nylon while it was difficult to be removed from ungrafted Nylon. The detergency of hemoglobin for grafted Nylon decreased when the graft ratio exceeded 15% The removal of hemoglobin increased markedly with increasing hemoglobin content and revolution speed. Therefore the removal of hemoglobin was improved due to graft and alkaline treatment.

대형 차량용 유압식 리타더의 유동 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis Study on the Fluid Flow Characteristics of Hydraulic Retarder for Heavy Vehicles)

  • This study examined the fluid flow characteristics of a hydraulic retarder adapted as an auxiliary brake for heavy vehicles. The commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software STAR-CCM+ was used to investigate the torque performance and flow characteristics of the hydraulic retarder. The numerical results showed that the pressure distribution was higher near the inner wall surface of the rotor and stator. The pressure of the working fluid increased in the radial direction of the rotor and stator. The variation in the fluid velocity intensity showed a similar trend to that of the fluid pressure, but the maximum velocity appeared near the outer wall surface of the rotor and stator interface. The numerical results showed that increasing the revolution speed of the retarder greatly increased the rate of torque generation.

  • Drilling is a crucial process that takes up a significant amount of weight during machining operations. In addition, drill tip-type tools and related operations have been developed for manufacturing industries to achieve economic efficiency. In this study, SM45C carbon steel, widely used for machine structures, was utilized as the working material after quenching and tempering. Insert-tip types of carbide tools, such as TiN and TiAlN, were used as tool materials. Drilling conditions such as the spindle revolution, feed rate, step of cut, and tool diameter were used to measure roughness, roundness, and straightness using the orthogonal array table statistical method. The surface roughness, roundness, and straightness characteristics based on the conditions were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the spindle speed and feed rate were the main factors influencing carbide insert-tip drilling under the same conditions as the experimental conditions.

  • 이 논문의 목적은 LPG 자동차의 전자제어에 대한 요소의 하나인 액추에이터에 대한 고장사례를 찾아 분석하고 연구하는 것이다. 차량의 연료를 저장하는 봄 내부의 LPG 긴급 차단 솔레노이드 밸브의 필터가 막혀 연료의 공급이 간헐적으로 차단되는 현상이 발생되어 엔진이 작동하는 동안 엔진의 초기시동불량이나 가속이 되지 않는 것을 확인하였다. 엔진 컨트럴 릴레이 부위의 접점부가 가공불량이나 조립불량에 의해 완전한 면접촉이 되지않아 접촉저항이 발생되어 초기 시동을 걸었을 때 시동이 걸렸으나 재시동을 걸 때 시동이 걸리지 않는 현상을 확인하였다. 공회전 조절장치의 내부에 카본이 퇴적되어 액추에이터가 고착되어 흡입공기의 공급이 감소되어 자동차의 시동이 걸려 공회전 상태일 때 엔진의 회전수가 규정 범위를 벗어나 상승과 하락을 반복하는 불안정 상태를 확인하였다.

Buckling of thick deep laminated composite shell of revolution under follower forces

  • Laminated composite shells are commonly used in various engineering applications including aerospace and marine structures. In this paper, using semi-analytical finite strip method, the buckling behavior of laminated composite deep as well as thick shells of revolution under follower forces which remain normal to the shell is investigated. The stiffness caused by pressure is calculated for the follower forces subjected to external fibers in thick shells. The shell is divided into several closed strips with alignment of their nodal lines in the circumferential direction. The governing equations are derived based on first-order shear deformation theory which accounts for through thickness-shear flexibility. Displacements and rotations in the middle surface of shell are approximated by combining polynomial functions in the meridional direction as well as truncated Fourier series with an appropriate number of harmonic terms in the circumferential direction. The load stiffness matrix which accounts for variation of loads direction will be derived for each strip of the shell. Assembling of these matrices results in global load stiffness matrix which may be un-symmetric. Upon forming linear elastic stiffness matrix called constitutive stiffness matrix, geometric stiffness matrix and load stiffness matrix, the required elements for the second step analysis which is an eigenvalue problem are provided. In this study, different parameter effects are investigated including shell geometry, material properties, and different boundary conditions. Afterwards, the outcomes are compared with other researches. By considering the results of this article, it can be concluded that the deformation-dependent pressure assumption can entail to decrease the calculated buckling load in shells. This characteristic is studied for different examples.

포텐셜 유동에 의한 프로펠러-WIG선의 상호작용 및 성능해석 (Analysis of Propeller-WIG Interaction and Performance in Potential Flow)

  • 프로펠러-WIG(Wing in Ground Effect)선의 상호작용 및 성능을 포텐셜 유동에 의해 해석하였다. 프로펠러는 보오텍스 격자법(VLM)을 사용하였고 WIG선은 포텐셜 기저 패널법을 사용하여 각 경계조건을 만족시키면서 반복계산을 통하여 상호작용 및 성능을 해석하였다. 자유수면은 강체로 가정하여 경상법을 사용하였다. 프로펠러-WIG의 상호작용 및 성능을 해석하기에 앞서 발표된 실험결과와 계산결과가 있는 MP101 프로펠러와 MR-21 타의 상호작용 및 성능해석을 수행하여 개발된 프로그램의 정도를 검증하였다. 프로펠러-WIG선의 상호작용해석은 프로펠러의 부착위치, 직경 및 회전수의 변화에 따른 비행고도 높이 변화에 대한 양력 및 피치모멘트를 계산하여 비교하였다. 날개 앞에 부착된 프로펠러는 WIG선의 양력을 급격히 향상시키며 정적안정성을 향상시킴을 알았다. 따라서 적절한 프로펠러의 크기, 부착위치 및 회전수의 선택이 PARWIG선의 성능향상을 위해 필수적임을 알았다.

  • 4차 산업 혁명으로 해양산업은 해사 관련 기술 및 시스템, 특히 선원의 역할에 상당한 변화가 생길 것으로 예상됩니다. 특히, 자율운항선박(MASS)은 인적과실에 의한 안전사고의 예방과 해상 작업 환경의 개선을 위하여 개발되고 있습니다. IMO는 교육 및 훈련 분야를 포함한 모든 분야에서 MASS의 도입에 대한 준비작업을 하고 있습니다. 이에 반해 국내지정교육기관은 아직 MASS에 탑승할 선원을 육성하기 위한 자격기준이나 교육훈련에 대한 계획을 수립하지 못하고 있는 상황입니다. 따라서 본 논문은 MASS의 특성과 적용기술을 검토하고, AI, 빅 데이터, 사이버 보안 등 급변하는 기술 환경에 최적화될 수 있는 스마트 선원의 능력 및 교육 훈련에 대한 필요성을 제시하고자 한다.

자율운항선박 육상원격제어사 교육과정 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Curriculum for Shore Remote Control Officer in Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (MASS))

  • 4차 산업이 발전함에 따라 해상운송 분야에서도 자율운항선박의 연구가 진행되고 있다. 현재 2, 3단계의 자율운항선박이 운항을 하고 있으며 육상에서 원격조종의 장비로 감시하며 상황에 따라 운항에 개입하는 육상원격제어사가 이미 활용되고 있다. 하지만 이들의 교육과정이 국제적으로 정립되지 않아 부적격한 육상원격제어사에 의한 사고 위험성이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 육상원격제어사에 필요한 교육을 기존의 해기사 교육 중 육상원격제어사에게 필요한 교육과 원격제어환경에서 필요한 교육으로 구성하였고 효과적인 교육의 활용을 위해 비기술적 역량교육을 포함하였다. 이러한 교육과정은 신속하게 활용될 수 있으며 역량평가를 통한 해사안전에 부합하는 신규 육상원격제어사를 배출할 수 있다. 그리고 기존의 선원들도 육상원격제어사로 전직할 수 있는 교육을 제공할 수 있다.

DLC (ta-C) 후막코팅을 위한 트라이볼로지 코팅 연구 (Tribology Coating Study of Thick DLC (ta-C) Film)

  • In recent years, thick ta-C coating has attracted considerable interest owing to its existing and potential commercial importance in applications such as automobile accessories, drills, and gears. The thickness of the ta-C coating is an important parameter in these applications. However, the biggest problems are achieving efficient coating and uniformity over a large area with high-speed deposition. Feasibility is confirmed for the ta-C coating thickness of up to 9.0 µm (coating speed: 3.0 µm/h, fixed substrate) using a single FCVA cathode. The thickness was determined using multiple coating cycles that were controlled using substrate temperature and residual stresses. In the present research, we have designed a coating system using FCVA plasma and produced enhanced thick ta-C coating. The system uses a specialized magnetic field configuration with stabilized DC arc plasma discharge during deposition. To achieve quality that is acceptable for use in automobile accessories, the magnetic field, T-type filters, and 10 pieces of a multi-cathode are used to demonstrate the deposition of the thick ta-C coating. The results of coating performance indicate that uniformity is ±7.6 , deposited area is 400 mm, and the thickness of the ta-C coating is up to 5.0 µm (coating speed: 0.3 µm/h, revolution and rotation). The hardness of the coating ranges from 30 to 59 GPa, and the adhesion strength level (HF1) ranges from 20 to 60 N, depending on the ta-C coating.
