To achieve this purpose, this study examined the effects of familism on consciousness for supporting parents of the undergraduates, analyzed the differences of it. For this, the subjects were 711 undergraduates living in Kwangju. Statistical analysis used were one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple regression. Results were as follows. 1) The male undergraduates’familism level was higher than that of females. But there was no significant difference in their consciousness for supporting parents related to sex. 2) The familism showed signigicant differences by grade, major, and household income. Parent supporting consciousness of the subjects showed significant differences by age, grade, and major. 3) The differences between familism and parents supporting consciousness were significant. The higher the undergraduates’familism was, the higher the undergraduates’consciousness for supporting parent was. In particular, for male, familism was shown to be the most important factor predicting their consciousness for supporting parents.

The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. Teenagers' living with their grandparents said that get much help from their grandparents 2. The teenagers' consciousness of supporting their parents when they grow old varied according to sex : i.e. male students said that children should bear the cost of supporting their old parents. 3. A cultural model can change as times go by within one ethnic group. For example, a strong familism has existed for a long time throughout a history of Korea, but it is, just like most social values, now in the midst of a rapid change. Accordingly, Koreans' belief about family values and responsibility for supporting their old parents are changing, too. Especially, supporting parents was one of the highly-estimated traditional values, but it seems to no longer exist. However, one's own rearing experience might be a moderator of association of his or her familism with the ebbing value. Therefore, we aim to address the following research question: What is the relations among college student's familism, their own rearing experiences, and their beliefs about supporting old parents. A total of 155 college students participated in this study. Data were analyzed by SPSS. T-test and ANOVA were used for data analysis. The findings are that college students' beliefs in supporting parents are significantly influenced by their familism and rearing experiences: Those with a strong familism and warm rearing experience have solid beliefs in supporting parents.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how parents' income, goal, expectancy, and value affect their parents' child supporting behavior, and to understand the behavior of parents supporting their children of elite athletes. For this, the influence relations of parental supporting cost/time according to income, children's achievement level, parents' sports parenting objective, achievement expectancy, and task value were analyzed through simple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the study, income and identity objective had an effect on supporting time. Income affected the supporting cost. Achievement expectancy had a moderating effect of income on supporting cost, and usefulness value had a moderating effect on income and relational objective. It is significant that it provided a quantitative basis for understanding parents' child supporting behavior.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the supporting-attitude type of the eldest son and his wife living seperately from his parents. This research focused on the various degree of intergenerational solidarity between the eldest son and his wife and his parents. For this study, the supporting-attitude types were classified into 4 types: these combine 2 types of residence (living together with the parents or living seperately from the parents) with 2 types of financial support (with with-out financial support0. The concept of intergenerational solidarity, comprises three elements: objective solidarity, subjective solidarity (attachment and conflict), and consensual solidarity (filial obligation). The subjects of this study were 166 couples living seperately from son's parents in Seoul city. The data were analyzed by multiple discriminant analyses, one way ANOVA's, and the paired t-test. The results of this study are as follows; 1. Although the majority of the eldest sons live now away from the parents home, they expect to eventually live together with and support their parents financially. The majority of the wives, however, do not want to live together with their husbands' parents even though expecting to support them financially. 2. According to the discriminant analyses, the supporting-attitude types of the eldest sons were discriminated by attachment and conflict, and those of their wives by conflict and obligation. 3. There were significant difference between supporting-attitude types in terms of intergenerational solidarity. In general, the couples expecting to live together with the parents reported a higher degree of attachment, a stronger sense of obligation, and a lower degree of conflict than the couples expecting to live seperately from the parents. 4. Significant differences between the husbands and the wives were found in attachment, obligation, and conflict. While the husbands showed higher attachment and obligation than their wives, the wives showed higher conflict than the husbands. No significant difference, however, was found between the couples in objective solidarity.
In spite of the previous research that had been emphasizing the importance of parents' assistance for revealing genius and achievement of their children, there was not enough information about how to drive the parents participation and support. Not considering "what and why" about the supporting of parents of gifted students, it was vaguely generalized that the education from the supporting parents was important. However, this situation will have a possibility of missing out on more important things of gifted children's parental support. Therefore, this research will deal with a variety of effective ways to clarify what the parents can do to support their gifted children and the problems that are related to those ways. Furthermore, by suggesting some of the ways that can complement the system of current parental support, it will set up fundamental ways to help the supporting parents.
The purpose of this study was to establish strategies that support multi-cultural children' development and adaptation in day care centers. The subjects were 61 young children, 49 parents from multi-cultural family and 550 Korean young children. The instruments utilized were the Sukemune-Hiew Resilience Test for parents and the Danaka Deveopment Test for children. The statistical instruments used were the t-test and the Pearson product correlation coefficients. Our results indicated that : (1) In the case five or six years old children from multi-cultural families, language development lagged behind that of Korean children. (2) Social support systems were insufficient for parents of multi-cultural families. Our cnclusions suggest that establishing strategies is necessary for not only supporting the linguistic development of children from multi-cultural families, but strategies aimed at supporting their parents in day care centers need to be developed.

The major findings in this study are as follows; 1) Degree of consciousness in supporting married-teachers' aged parents was 3.98 on a scale of 0-5.0. The significant variables affecting the results were sex, living-distance, and familism. 2) Degree of behavior in supporting married-teachers' aged parents was 3.07 on a scale of 0-4.0.
