The seismic sequence which hit the Northern Italian territory in 2012 produced extensive damage to reinforced concrete (RC) precast buildings typically adopted as industrial facilities. The considered damaged buildings are constituted by one-storey precast structures with RC columns connected to the ground by means of isolated socket foundations. The roof structural layout is composed of pre-stressed RC beams supporting pre-stressed RC floor elements, both designed as simply supported beams. The observed damage pattern, already highlighted in previous earthquakes, is mainly related to insufficient connection strength and ductility or to the absence of mechanical devices, being the connections designed neglecting seismic loads or neglecting displacement and rotation compatibility between adjacent elements. Following the vulnerabilities emerged in past seismic events, the paper investigates the seismic performance of industrial facilities typical of the Italian territory. The European building code seismic assessment methodologies are presented and discussed, as well as the retrofit interventions required to achieve an appropriate level of seismic capacity. The assessment procedure and retrofit solutions are applied to a selected case study.

As the importance of non-functional requirements has increased, many researchers have become interested in the software development process for non-functional requirements including the notation, modeling, and assessment of non-functional requirements. However, the characteristics of non-functional requirements are so sophisticated and there are many topics which have not been solved until now. In order to address one of the unsolved problems, we propose a systematic software development process to support the management of non-functional requirements. The process consists of six steps, each of which is composed of detailed activities. Using the proposed process, the non-functional requirements can be managed and modeled more effectively and systematically than previous ones.

The objective of identifying the cause of inconsistency in determining priority of educational facility maintenance, any related factors were thoroughly identified and tested, to see if it has any effect on decision-making process in resource allocation for educational facilities. On the assumption that 'the more there are to be repaired/maintained and deferred, the higher the relevant cost will be, this will lead to a significant social loss. Accordingly, this study established a framework of determining resource allocation priority based on deferred maintenance and its related expenses. For doing so, it was required to determine relative ranking in terms of resource allocation within a pre-assigned school district, in consideration of the criticality of each deferred maintenance attribute/variable.

본 논문에서는 광대역 CDMA망에서 음성, 비디오, 데이터와 같은 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 다양한 서비스 특성에 적합한 액세스 제어 방법을 제안한다. 즉 서비스별로 다른 Eb/No 값을 이용함으로써 서비스의 BER을 조절하고 음성과 비디오의 전송률이 시간에 따라 변하는 특성을 이용하여 데이터의 전송률을 제어하는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 각 방법에 대한 시뮬레이션과 분석을 수행하였다. 성능 분석결과 제안된 액세스 방법을 사용할 경우 데이터에 대한 지연을 통해 전체적인 outage 발생확률을 감소시킴을 알 수 있었다.

Home-network gateway always powered on, while network data is not transferred. And the Power consumption of networked electric devices are greatly increased, to support higher speed data transfer. To reduce the power consumption of networked electric devices, some ideas were proposed. Such as ALR, Proxying, Subset-PHY. In this paper we propose a scheme to reduce power consumption of Home-Network Gateway. Proposed Home-network Gateway architecture consumes less than 1W in passive standby mode.

In smart cold chain, environment monitoring (for example temperature, humidity, and etc) is an important. Especially, because monitoring may be broken on passage, in order to success of cold chain management, it is important that seamless monitoring. To solve this problem, we implement mobile gateway supporting RFID and demonstrate using of RFID middleware emulator.

High voltage motors are the core equipment of electric generation facilities and need to guarantee stable operation. Therefore, keeping healthy state is of importance by means of insulation diagnosis periodically. However, if the diagnosis went through in the different circumstances such as temperature, humidity, and impedance applied to the test equipment, the trend analysis have no significance. This paper presents the experimental results supporting the importance of keeping the same conditions under insulation diagnosis.

The sustainable development of local communities is faced with limitation due to poor infrastructure and lack of cooperation among stake-holders. To overcome such circumstances and thus to ensure balanced development of the local communities, the central government is driving construction of innovative cities mainly through transfer of public institutions to local cities. In this study, to contribute to the development of plans for the future agropolis' associated with the transfer of public institutions, efficient organization mechanisms of the agropolis such as basic structure and spatial allocation was examined through analyses of advanced cases(Sophia Antipolis, St. Hyacinthe Science Part Food Valley, Stoneleigh Park) of foreign countries. The analyses showed that the organization of agropolis were consisted of three main components; 1) agricultural and food industry complex conducting R&D, 2) service facilities(information, trade, consulting and advertisement) supporting agricultural and food industries and rural enterprise center in charge of a variety of events including exhibition, rural experience, education, and contest, 3) silver facilities such as hospital and town providing medical service and residence. Based on the results, inventories of facilities which are necessary in 'the future agropolis' and their spatial allocation were suggested.

An episode of corona is a heterogeneity-caused electric discharge that occurs when electric fields are formed layer on layer and concentrated on an electrode. Electric wires built at the tip of 154kV private facilities use dead end clamp spawns corona from homogeneity caused by field concentration. Corona induces power loss, noise, insulator failure and more. In this research, we've studied the characteristics of coronas that take place in porcelain insulators and terminal electric wires of supporting hard wares (dead end clamp) that are set up as spares in the 154kV private facilities use hydroelectricity installations to support electric wires. Corona, which cannot be identified by regular methods, was measured utilizing UV image camera. As the result of measuring corona via UV image camera, we've confirmed that the depletion of insulators was accelerated following the wire end treatment method and validated the stress intensity of insulators at various lengths of bare wires caused by electric fields via FEMLAB. We have also proposed a new model for relieving homogeneity-caused field concentration, and after analyzing the proposed model via FEMLAB, we've confirmed that the concentration of field distribution was indeed reduced. Such results are exploited in installation of private facilities use equipments, maintenance of insulators and hard wares as well as safety enhancement, and are anticipated to be effectively utilized in corona prevention measures.

While Korean traditional culture considers it necessary that children support their parents, a new trend of silver support is expanding by the recent social change, the increase of women's working, and the reluctance to support the old people. However, the number of silver welfare facilities in Korea is short for the demand with limited selections of them. Based on the situation, the following results of the study what kind of policies Korea service for the old people in the USA where early stepped into the aging society: 1. provide specific and proper social-supporting service and facilities with charge or free for the old people to be able to select one of them, according to economic, physical and psychological situation of the old people; rather to prepare service and facilities for all the old people. 2. increasing community service support for the home-staying old people 3. the development of support program for the family of the old 4. the improvement of housing environment for the home-staying senior 5. prepare the housing alternatives for the senior would be home-like environment.
