A Comparative Analysis on the Death Toll and the Number of Cremators Using E-Haneul Funeral Information System and Cremation Rate in the Whole Nation Metropolitan Cities

  • In the study, we show the six metropolitan cities, Incheon Metropolitan City had the highest annual average rate(3.2%) of the death toll, from 2011 to 2018, and the overall annual average rise rate was 2.6%. Also, the annual average rise rate of the number of cremators using E-Haneul funeral information system, Gwangju Metropolitan City had the highest rate(7.6%) and the overall annual average rise rate was 5.6%. The annual average rise rate of the cremation rate, Gwangju Metropolitan City had the highest rate(2.8%) and the overall annual average rise rate was 1.9%. Focusing on the actual state shown in the results of this study above, the policy measures for improving the efficiency of supply & demand policy of funeral facilities in six metropolitan cities in the whole nation could be suggested as follows. First, expanding the supply of cremation facilitiesin consideration of the installation period of cremation facilities. Second, given the increase in the number of cremators using E-Haneul Funeral Information System, it is necessary to expand the infrastructure for meeting the demand of using funeral facilities, such as enshrinement facilities of ash and natural burial sites. Third, in such metropolitan cities, it is difficult to resolve a conflict of location with local residents who recognize cremation facilities as unpleasant facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to devise and implement a plan for improving local residents awareness of cremation facilities and resolving the conflict of location in diversified ways. Fourth, it is predicated that Busan and Daegu Metropolitan City will face a lack of supply of cremation facilities in a short time due to the increased demand for them. Therefore, in order to meet the demand for cremation, it is necessary to construct more cremation furnaces in current cremation facilities or to jointly use and expand cremation facilities with their neighboring local government.

A Study on Prediction of Land Use Demand in Seongnam-city Using System Dynamics (시스템 다이내믹스 기법을 활용한 성남시 토지이용수요 예측에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to predict the land use demand of Seongnam-city using system dynamics and to simulate the effect of changes in family structure and land use density adjustment policy on land use demand. This study attempted to construct causal loop diagrams and an analysis model. The changes in land use demand over time were predicted through simulation results. As a result of the analysis, as of 2035, an additional supply of 2.08 km2 for residential land and 1.36 km2 for commercial land is required. Additionally, the current supply area of industrial land can meet the demand. Three policy experiments were conducted by changing the variable values in the basic model. In the first policy experiment, it was found that when the number of household members decreased sharply compared to the basic model, up to 7.99 km2 of additional residential land were required. In the second policy experiment, if the apartment floor area ratio was raised from 200% to 300%, it was possible to meet the demand for residential land with the current supply area of Seongnam-city. In the third policy experiment, it was found that even if the average number of floors in the commercial area was raised from four to five and the building-to-land ratio in the commercial area was raised from 80% to 85%, the demand for commercial land exceeded the supply area of the commercial area in Seongnam-city. This study is meaningful in that it proposes a new analytical model for land use demand prediction using system dynamics, and empirically analyzes the model by applying the actual urban planning status and statistics of Seongnam-city.

  • The objective of this research is to construct and build a software platform to enable collaboration among enterprise headquarters, product designers, software engineers, manufacturing plants, and suppliers which are located at different remote locations via internet. In specific, agent technology is adopted as a software vehicle to automate demand as a software vehicle to automate demand and supply process in the internet environment. Agents are programs that act an behalf of their human users to perform laborious tasks such as information locating, accessing, filtering, integrating, adapting and resolving inconsistencies. Global competition is forcing the present day industry to produce high quality product more fast and inexpensively. In Korea, most labor-intensive industries have moved to China and other Asian countries for cost reduction. The need for fast information exchange has increased among the remote locations for the cooperation and coordination. In this research, a virtual global manufacturing system will be constructed that distributes production schedule among remote places, acts as a bridge between the headquarters and manufacturing plants, distributes tasks and collates different solutions between demand and supply using agent. The external communication protocol takes HTML format, internal message handling requires SGML for document exchange, and KQML for agent implementation. The expected benefits will be : reduced cost of real-time information exchange, realization of global manufacturing environment, the maximum utilization of internet for the enterprise data exchange.

  • Bus service is easily adjusted to accommodate the changed demand. Despite the flexibility of that, its relocation should overcome the following problems: first, Bus line rearrangement should consider the balance between the demand and the supply to enhance the transit equity among the users scattered around the area that supply against demand imbalances. Second, the existing demand analysed is to crude since the demand was analysed based on TAZ. mainly based on the Dong unit. Utilization of the GWR and GIS-T data can resolve the problem. In this paper, the limitation of the conventional transit demand analysis model is overcome by deploying the GWR model which identifies the transit demand based on the geographic relation between the service location and those of the users. GWR model considers the spatial effect of the bus demand in accordance with the distance to the each bus stops using SCD(Smart Card Data) and BIS(Bus Information System). This demand map was then superimposes with the existing bus route which identified the areas where the balance between demand and supply is severly skewed. since the analysis was computed with SCD and BIS at every bus stops. the shortage and surplus of bus service of entire study area could computed. Further. based on this computational result and considering the entire bus service capacity data. Bus routes optimization from the oversupplied areas to the undersupplied area was illustrated thus this study clearly compared the benefits the GIS.

  • Supply chain management(SCM) helps firms in integrating their business by collaborating with other value chain partners to meet the unpredictable demand of the end user. Agility is the fundamental characteristic of a supply chain needed for survival in turbulent and volatile markets, which are becoming norms as product life cycles shorten and environmental forces create additional uncertainty resulting in higher risk in the supply chain management. Literature reviews reveals various factors that could affect the agility. The objective of this study is to derive interdependence, partnership, quality of information, joint problem solving, modelize the mutual influential relationship between them, and look into the influential relationship influencing the agility. To test the proposed model, we used a data set generated from survey. Date analysis was conducted using 122 respondents. We used structural equation model (SEM) implemented in partial least square(PLS). The results of this study can be summarized as follows. Interdependence had a significant impact on partnership. Partnership had a significant impact on quality of information and joint problem solving. Quality of information had a significant impact on joint problem solving. Quality of information and joint problem solving had a significant impact on agility. This study diagnoses that Inter-organizational relationship characteristics are important for supply chain agility. Inter-organizational relationship characteristics are considered as an essential factor for supply chain agility.

  • Hydrogen energy is an eco-friendly energy that produces heat and electricity with high energy efficiency and does not emit harmful substances such as greenhouse gases and fine dust. In particular, smart hydrogen energy is an economical, sustainable, and safe future smart hydrogen energy service, which means a service that stably operates based on 'data' by digitally integrating hydrogen energy infrastructure. In this paper, in order to implement a data-based hydrogen charging station demand forecasting model, three hydrogen charging stations (Chuncheon, Sokcho, Pyeongchang) installed in Gangwon-do were selected, supply and demand data of hydrogen charging stations were secured, and 7 machine learning and deep learning algorithms were used. was selected to learn a model with a total of 27 types of input data (weather data + demand for hydrogen charging stations), and the model was evaluated with root mean square error (RMSE). Through this, this paper proposes a machine learning-based hydrogen charging station energy demand prediction model for optimal hydrogen energy supply and demand.

The Impact of COVID 19 on the Meat Supply Chain in the USA: A Review

  • The COVID 19 pandemic resulted in a considerable influence on the world economy. Being a big sector of the economy, the food supply chain struggled. The meat supply chain was most notably affected as every part of the supply chain from farm to shelf was closely inter-related. With the closure of businesses and restaurants the demand for at home food from grocery stores increased. Meat production facilities were impacted when the virus spread to the workers causing facilities to close or line speeds to slow. The combination of these two issues, in turn, led to there being less meat on the shelves. With less meat animals being harvested, there was less demand for livestock leading to farmers having an excess in slaughter ready animals. The decreased demand for livestock led to economic issues as money was lost in multiple sections of the supply chain. Aside from the economy and supply chain issues, other issues include concerns over the safety of meat products due to decreased safety protocols to increase line speed. Additionally, concerns of animal welfare with the excess of animals being culled were raised due to decreased capacity in processing facilities. While this review paper mainly focuses on characterizing the impact of COVID 19 on the meat supply chain in the USA, the compiled information should be able to provide practical insights to the meat/food industry across the globe to develop potential mitigating strategies against the COVID 19 and/or any similar pandemic incidences in the future.

A Study on the Using State of Cremation Facilities in Each Jurisdiction Area and Outside of the Jurisdiction Area Targeting Users of Online Cremation Reservation Service in Funeral Information System in the Capital Area

  • On the basis of 2017, the cremation rate in capital area was 89.0% which was much higher than the national average cremation rate(84.6%). Due to the short supply of cremation facilities in accordance with the increased number of cremation cases every year, the demand for cremation from the residents outside of the jurisdiction area with no cremation facilities was increased, so that the residents in the jurisdiction area had difficulties in using the Online Cremation Reservation Service in Funeral Information System. Thus, this study aims to make suggestions for policies as follows.First, on the basis of 2017, the demand-supply rate of cremation facilities in Gyeonggi-do was 139.4%, which means that the demand for cremation largely exceeds the ability to supply cremation. Therefore, first, in the level of Gyeonggi-do, the expanded supply of cremation facilities should be induced by carrying forward policies such as financial support to the basic local governments installing cremation facilities and expansion of incentives support to the residents of regions attracting cremation facilities. Second, it would be necessary for the central government to expansively conduct the support standard price and government subsidy rate(70%) for the new construction of cremation facilities and the establishment of cremation furnaces. Third, there should be some policies to decrease the inflow of residents outside of the jurisdiction area by raising the fee for using cremation facilities outside of the jurisdiction area of Seoul Metropolitan City and also expanding the application of a sliding scale of cremation hours.

  • The telecommunication technology in the 21st century has come up to the standard which could transmit various spatial information by means of on-line and the printing technology using computers has been on a par with presswork in quality. In addition, map users also would like to get various spatial information through on-line directly or indirectly. None the less, the supply system of national base map in our country has maintained the off-line sales method. It is owing to this reason that the nation's supply system has shown a high degree of inefficiency from the viewpoint of the inventory control, rapidity, and economical efficiency as compared with the on-line sales system in the developed countries.   • To supply the materials the right time, and the right place, it is required some information maintenance system to manage this procedure effectively. In this paper, we represent the standard products classification for EMU and the materials maintenance information system to manage the parts used EMU maintenance efficiently. The standard material classification is matched to G2B code made by the Supply Administration. The implemented material information system can perform various functions such as the inquiry of the number of stocks, the demand of the materials, and etc.
