Super Wi-Fi is a Wi-Fi-like service exploiting TV white space (WS) which is expected to achieve larger coverage than today's Wi-Fi thanks to its superior propagation characteristics. Super Wi-Fi has been materialized as an international standard, IEEE 802.11af, targeting indoor and outdoor applications, and is undergoing worldwide field tests. This paper demonstrates the true potential of indoor Super Wi-Fi, by experimentally comparing the signal propagation characteristics of Super Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi in the same indoor environment. Specifically, we measured the wall and floor attenuation factors and the path-loss distribution at 770MHz, 2.401 GHz, and 5.540 GHz, and predicted the downlink capacity of Wi-Fi and Super Wi-Fi. The experimental results have revealed that TVWS signals can penetrate up to two floors above and below, whereas Wi-Fi signals experience significant path loss even through a single floor. It has been also shown that Super Wi-Fi mitigates shaded regions of Wi-Fi by providing almost-homogeneous data rates within its coverage, performs comparable to Wi-Fi utilizing less bandwidth, and always achieves better spectral efficiency than Wi-Fi. The observed phenomena imply that Super Wi-Fi is suitable for indoor applications and has the potential of extending horizontal and vertical coverage of today's Wi-Fi.
There are constraints on truck weight, axle configurations and size imposed by departments of transportation around the globe due to structural capacity limitations of highway pavements and bridges. In spite of that, freight movers demand some vehicles that surpass the maximum size and legal weight limits to use the transportation network. Oversized trucks serve the purpose of spreading the load on the bridge; thus, reducing the load effect on the superstructure. For such vehicles, often a quick structural analysis of the existing bridges along the traveled route is needed to ensure that the structural capacity is not exceeded. For a wide vehicle having wheel gage larger than the standard 1830 mm, the girder distribution factors in the design specifications cannot be directly used to estimate the live load in the supporting girders. In this study, a simple approach that is based on finite element analysis is developed by modifying the AASHTO LRFD's girder distribution factors for slab-on-steel-girder bridges to overcome this problem. The proposed factors allow for determining the oversized vehicle bending moment and shear force effect in the individual girders as a function of the gage width characteristics. Findings of the study showed that the relationship between the girder distribution factor and gage width is more nonlinear in shear than in flexure. The proposed factors yield reasonable results compared with the finite element analysis with adequate level of conservatism.
Despite the second generation HTS tapes (2G HTS tape) have limits in critical current value, scientific and electric devices require more current density day after day. These requirements are realized by using different superconducting wires that consist of 2G HTS tapes designed in various combinations. Authors of this paper have developed the numerical model for estimation of total critical current in the superconducting wire and critical current in each 2G HTS tape placed in this superconducting wire. The current drop in six 2G HTS tapes having different constructions was analyzed. The result of this research is the decrease of critical current up to 25 % for the stack of tapes and up to 5 % for the parallel tapes in the same plane. In addition, what was also made is the estimation of the current distribution by length for six 25 m 2G HTS tapes in different constructions and determination of current deviation by length of the wire.
Purpose: Recent emergence of diverse businesses in the distribution industry has led small and medium-sized retailers and their distribution logistics centers to face difficulties. Transactions between companies are connected within a supply chain, and the companies have relationships in the form of a supplier and a buyer. Therefore, it is important to identify causes of problems among companies through supply chain and strategic partnerships, thus developing optimal management plans and maximizing performances of companies. This study proposes that sustainable supply chain management consists of product quality, price quality, distribution quality, and promotion quality based on stakeholder theory and resource-based view. This study examined the impacts of sustainable chain management factors on satisfaction and win-win cooperation. Research design, data, and methodology: In the proposed model, satisfaction plays a mediating role in the relationship between sustainable chain management and win-win cooperation. The data were collected from 245 owners who use small and medium-sized distribution logistics center and analyzed using 2SLS (two-stage least square) with SPSS 28.0. Exploratory factor analysis and correlation analysis were used to assess the validity and reliability of constructs. Results: The findings are as follows. In the case of the total and Nadeulgage samples, product, price, and distribution quality had a significant positive effect on satisfaction, but in the case of Neighborhood super, product and price quality have a significant positive effect on satisfaction. Satisfaction has a significant positive effect on win-win cooperation in the overall, Nadeulgage, and Neighborhood super. Satisfaction plays a partial or full mediating role in the case of total, Nadeulgage, Neighborhood super. Conclusions: This study emphasized the need for sustainable supply chain management of small and medium-sized distribution logistics centers by examining the relationship between small and medium-sized distribution logistics centers and chain stores. It was found that store satisfaction plays an important role in the win-win cooperation between small and medium-sized distribution logistics centers and chain stores. Small and medium-sized distribution logistics centers can maximize product quality, price quality, distribution quality, and promotion quality by understanding the effect of chain store-related satisfaction and win-win cooperation on chain stores.
It is important to operate the driving circuit under the optimal condition through precisely sensing the power consumption causing the temperature made mainly by the MOSFET (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) when a BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor operates. In this letter, a Super-junction (SJ) power TMOSFET (trench metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) with an ultra-low specific on-resistance of $0.96m{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ under the same break down voltage of 100 V is designed by using of the SILVACO TCAD 2D device simulator, Atlas, while the specific on-resistance of the traditional power MOSFET has tens of $m{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, which makes the higher power consumption. The SPICE simulation for measuring the power distribution of 25 cells for a chip is carried out, in which a unit cell is a SJ Power TMOSFET with resistor arrays. In addition, the power consumption for each unit cell of SJ Power TMOSFET, considering the number, pattern and position of bonding, is computed and the power distribution for an ANSYS model is obtained, and the SJ Power TMOSFET is designed to make the power of the chip distributed uniformly to guarantee it's reliability.
This paper presents a Current Distribution Control design for Paralleled Positive Output Elementary Super Lift Luo Converters (PPOESLLCs) operated in Continuous Conduction Mode using a Sliding Mode Controller (SMC). Manipulating the higher current requirement of the load through the paralleling of POESLLCs, results in a current inequality. This is mainly due to dissimilarities in the power semiconductor switches and circuit components used in POESLLCs, which may lead to converter failures. In order to balance the proper load current sharing and the load voltage regulation of PPOESLLCs, a SMC is developed. The SMC is designed for the inherently variable-structured of POESLLCs by using the state-space average based model. The static and dynamic performance of the developed controller with PPOESLLCs is validated for its robustness to perform over a wide range of operating conditions through both a laboratory prototype and MatLab/Simulink models, which are compared with a Proportional-Integral (PI) controller. Theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the developed SMC along with the complete design procedure.
