SPECTROSCOPIC OBSERVATION OF THE SOLAR ACTIVE REGIONS IN HeI 10830 ${\AA}$ LINE

  • Here we report the results from spectroscopic observations of soloar active regions in the HeI 10830 ${\AA}$ line at the German Vacuum Tower Telescope(VTT) in Tenerife during the August 199:3 International EFR(Emerging Flux Region) Campaign. Four active regions in various stages of their evolution, i.e., NOAA7558, 7560, 7561, and 7562, were ovserved on 10 August 1993. From the observed HeI 10830 ${\AA}$ spectra in these active regions, spectroscopic quantities such as equivalent width(EW), doppler shift, doppler width, etc., were derived(see Figure l(a)) and the correlation between them were studied(see Figure l(b)). Our main results are as follows: (I)In NOAA7562, which is a young and evolving EFR, the EW is large, while it is small around a simple and roundish spot of NOAA7558. (2)In these active regions, redshift in the 10830 line is dominant when the EW is larger. (3)As the doppler width increases, the line tends to shift redward. (4)When the EW is smaller, it seems to exist another component which have dynamic characteristics different from the redshifting component. In NOAA7560 and NOAA7561, regions which have several small spots, the values of the EW are intermediate. Results (2) and (3) may suggest the possible existence of downflow above active regions, if the HeI 10830 ${\AA}$line is formed in the upper chromopshere, and it is consistent with the earlyer result from the SMM extreme-ultraviolet observation by Klimchuk(1987, Astrophys.   • Mankind has had various medical treatments and theories as the result of steady researches about many diseases. Medical science has something to do with religions closely. That is, he tries to solve the problem connected with his life through medicine, while he tries to overcome the fear of death through the religion. Also I have tried to establish the relations between Oriental medicine. This research shows that the relation between Taoism and medical morals(醫德). The results of this research are following. The moral consciousness in medicine is the one of great traditions in Oriental medicine which comes to the front by Sun-Si-Miao(孫思邈). That is influenced by the ethical view that a moral act influences the long and the short of life. ${\ulcorner}$Tai-Ping-Jing(太平經)${\lrcorner}$ says that man enjoys longevity if he tends his parents with filial piety and then is aware of the principle of heaven and earth. Sun-Si-Miao teaches in Da-Yi-Jing-Cheng(大醫精誠) that 'Treat the patient impartially', 'Don't weigh the merits when treating the patient', 'Avoid the use of animal medicines as you can.', 'As a man sows, so he shall reap.', Don't be jealous and don't be proud.', which are closely related to main principles about act and taboo suggested in ${\ulcorner}$Bao-Piao-Zi(抱朴子)${\lrcorner}$

  • $Sun{\sim}Si{\sim}Miao$(孫思邈) is known to everybody as a great medical doctor. He has written two famus books. Those are the $Qian{\sim}Jin{\sim}Yao{\sim}Fang$(${\ll}$千金要方${\gg}$) and the $Qian{\sim}Jin{\sim}Yi{\sim}Fang$(${\ll}$千金翼方${\gg}$). He said that woman's disease differ from man's disease, we must care of woman carefully. And he has written seven parts of the books on gynecology. He has introduced reason of woman' disease and method of medical treatment variously. Also he has introduced a method of making cosmetics and beauty treatment. So We summarized pediatrics theory in two books and decomposed reason of disease and method of medical treatment. Also I compared with $Xiao{\sim}Pin{\sim}Fang$(${\ll}$小品方${\gg}$) In conclusion, I have known that $Sun{\sim}Si{\sim}Miao's$ gynecology is consist of useful and various substance.

DESIGNING A SMALL-SIZED ENGINEERING MODEL OF SOLAR EUV TELESCOPE FOR A KOREAN SATELLITE (인공위성 탑재용 소형 극자외선 태양망원경 공학 모형 설계)

  • For the research of solar EUV (extreme ultraviolet) radiation, we have designed a small-sifted engineering model of solar EUV telescope, which is suitable for a Korean satellite. The EUV sole. telescope was designed to observe the sun at $584.3AA$(He I) and $629.7AA$(OV) The optical system is an f/8 Ritchey-Chr rien, and the effective diameter and focal length are 80mm and 640mm, respectively. The He I and 0V filters are loaded in a filter wheel. In the detection part, the MCP (Microchannel Plate) type is Z-stack, and the channel-to-diameter radio is 40:1. MCP and CCD are connected by fiber optic taper. A commercial optical design software is used for the analysis of the optical system design.

Generation of He I 1083 nm Images from SDO/AIA 19.3 and 30.4 nm Images by Deep Learning

  • In this study, we generate He I 1083 nm images from Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO)/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) images using a novel deep learning method (pix2pixHD) based on conditional Generative Adversarial Networks (cGAN). He I 1083 nm images from National Solar Observatory (NSO)/Synoptic Optical Long-term Investigations of the Sun (SOLIS) are used as target data. We make three models: single input SDO/AIA 19.3 nm image for Model I, single input 30.4 nm image for Model II, and double input (19.3 and 30.4 nm) images for Model III. We use data from 2010 October to 2015 July except for June and December for training and the remaining one for test. Major results of our study are as follows. First, the models successfully generate He I 1083 nm images with high correlations. Second, the model with two input images shows better results than those with one input image in terms of metrics such as correlation coefficient (CC) and root mean squared error (RMSE). CC and RMSE between real and AI-generated ones for the model III with 4 by 4 binnings are 0.84 and 11.80, respectively. Third, AI-generated images show well observational features such as active regions, filaments, and coronal holes. This work is meaningful in that our model can produce He I 1083 nm images with higher cadence without data gaps, which would be useful for studying the time evolution of chromosphere and coronal holes.

An investigation of the Photospheric and Chromospheric Layers of Sunspots

  • The most powerful technique for deducing the magnetic structure of the Sun is spectro-polarimetry. Detailed measurements of the polarization signal of the spectral lines (Stokes vector) allow us to infer the physical conditions in the solar atmosphere prevailing during the line formation. Inversion codes are the main tool to extract this information from the Stokes spectra. This study will focus on measurements of the chromospheric He I 1083.0 nm triplet and the photospheric Si I 1082.7 nm line. A spectropolarimetric data set of sunspots, obtained with the German Vacuum Tower Telescope (VTT) at the Teide observatory on Tenerife, is analyzed using an inversion technique. We will introduce the German Vacuum Tower Telescope and the inversion code HeLix, and will show data sets that are analyzed by HeLix.

A Cytotoxic Constituent from Sophora flavescens

  • A cytotoxic constituent was isolated by bioassay-guided procedure from the roots of Sophora flavescens Aiton (Leguminosae). The constituent was identified as sophoraflavanone G (I) by means of chemical methods and in comparsion with spectral data of standard compound. The $ED_50$ values of constituent I were 0.78, 1.57, 2.14 and $8.59{\mu}g/ml$ against A549, HeLa, K562 and L1210 cell lines, respectively. Constituent I exhibited highly cytotoxic activities against A549, K562 and HeLa cells, but showed a mild activity $$(ED_50 value, 5{\mu}g/ml)$$ against L1210 cells. Among the tested cell lines, A549 cells were the most sensitive to constituent I.

  • Sting (Gordon Sumner) is a British musician and singer-songwriter. He was the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for the new wave rock band 'The Police' from 1977 to 1984, before launching a solo career in 1985. With his stylish and sophisticated sensibility and musical spectra, he achieved 100 million album sales. In this thesis, after he disbanded the group THE POLICE, his career as a solo artist with his wide variety of musical colors has been acknowledged for his reputation over more than 30 years. Therefore, I analyze 'Sting' of music included in 'Straight To My Heart' and 'Be Still My Beating Heart' in. Songs in indicate that the drum part the tunes that there is in a record doesn't break away from the basic way of music. The role of the whole rhythm division through the various percussions or can see a synthesizer than the role as the cord musical instrument that there are lots of tunes placing a great deal of weight on the role as the rhythmic musical instrument more. The unique instrument-based rhythm of the early Sting and role dispensation create a unique sound that is quite different from what the musician subsequently recorded. The feature and rhythmic characteristic, which is the arrangement that appeared outstandingly in this record, I am trying to explain about the way in which I lead the basic flow of the tune through the rhythm division of the other musical instruments which I split that is, the drum beat and break away from a rhythm from the divided general way and include a percussion.

The effect of mushroom components on the proliferation of HeLa cell line in vitro

  • In order to find out nutritional effects of Korean edible mushrooms on the multiplication of tissue cells, the alcohol extracts and acid bydrolysates of eleven species of mushrooms were added to Earle's ESS. A comparison of the respective multiplications of HeLa cells in this solution and in control solution of TC=199. Yielded the following result: The alcohol extracts and acid hydrolysates of a Coprinus comatur, Agaricus campestris, Agaricus bisporus, Lentinus edodes, Tricholoma matsutake, Pleurotus ostretus, Ramaria botrytis and Pholiota nameko influenced favorably the maintenance of the normal form and monolayer of HeLa cells. The growth curves of HeLa cells in the cultures containing, respectively, the alcohol extracts and acid hydrolysates of these eight mushrooms showed that five species, i.e., Coprinus comatus, Agaricus compestris, Agaricus bisporus, Lentinus edodes and Tricholoma matsutake effected an excellent multiplication and that the other three species were less effective than those five species. As to the effects on the cell multiplication, no marked difference was observed between the alcohol extracts and the acid hydrolysates of the mushrooms tested.
