  • Recently, a lossless non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) implementation has been proposed. Such lossless NOMA without SIC is achieved via correlated superposition coding (SC), in comparison with conventional independent SC. However, only high-correlated SC was investigated in the lossless non-SIC NOMA implementation. Thus, this paper investigates low-correlated SC, especially a lossless interval, owing to low-correlation between signals. First, for the low-correlated SC scheme, we derive the closed-form expressions for the two roots with which the lossless interval is defined. Then, simulations demonstrate that the lossless interval of low-correlated SC NOMA is enlarged, with a degraded middle interval, compared to that of high-correlated SC NOMA. Moreover, we also show that such tendency becomes stronger as the value of the correlation coefficient varies. As a result, the proposed low-correlated SC scheme could be considered as a promising correlated SC scheme, with the enlarged lossless interval in NOMA toward the future sixth-generation (6G) ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC).

  • An improved optimal weights based on parallel interference cancellation algorithm has been proposed to cancel for interference induced by multi-user access satellite to ground uplink system. Due to differences in elevation relative motion between the user and the satellite, as well as access between users, resulting in multi-user access interference (Multi-user Access Interference, MUI), which significantly degrade system performance when multi-user access. By steepest gradient method, it obtained based on the MMSE criterion, parallel interference cancellation adjust optimal weights to obtain the maximum SINR. Compared to traditional parallel interference cancellation (Parallel Interference Cancellation, PIC) algorithm or serial interference cancellation ( Successive interference Cancellation, SIC), the accuracy of which is not high and too many complex iterations, we establish the multi-user access to the satellite to ground up link system to demonstrate that the improved WPIC algorithm could be provided with high accuracy and relatively low number of iterations.

  • In the uplink of OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) based M-WiMAX(Mobile-Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) system, linear phase shift is caused by signals transmitted from multiuser with different delay time and thus, MAI (Multiple Access Interference) occurs. MAI degrades the performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation in the uplink. Therefore, in this paper, we propose ranging algorithm, applying SIC (Successive Interference Cancellation) to the conventional ranging algorithm, to minimize MAI and to improve ranging performance. The proposed ranging algorithm is verified through the Monte Carlo simulation, which shows the improved performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation compared to the conventional algorithms. Through compared with random access of the 3GPP LTE, we can know limit of ranging performance.

  • In this paper, an effective repeat-back jamming (RBJ) mitigation scheme known assuccessive repeat-back jamming cancellation (SRC) is proposed for the utilization of the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm which is used to mitigate the near-far effect and the multiple-access interference for code division multiple-access communication systems. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo-random noise (C-PRN) signal from the estimated major parameters of RBJ signals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the root mean squared (RMS) code tracking errors are shown according to the standard deviation of the parameter estimation errors of an RBJ signal, and using the well-known major parameters estimation schemes with a C-PRN signal through Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • NOMA (Non-orthogonal multiple access) system is the most promising multiple access technology to satisfy the requirements of the spectral efficiency and the performance of 5G cellular systems. NOMA system simultaneously serves multiple users in the power domain, and adapts SIC (Successive interference cancellation) at the receivers to cancel the interference from multiple users. Since in a realistic wireless fading channel the perfect SIC is impossible, the study of the effect of the imperfect SIC to a NOMA system is necessary. This paper considers a cooperative NOMA system with SIC error, and the performance of the system is analytically derived. And the optimum power allocation to minimize the system performance is obtained. When the transmit power is fixed, the distances between a base station and the relay is considered for different SIC errors. The derived analytical results are verified through Monte Carlo simulation, and the results are perfectly matched.

  • In this paper, we propose a low complexity bilateral search SIC for OFDM in fast time-varying channels. Due to the possibility of error propagation in SIC, symbol detection ordering within the block of symbols has a significant effect on the overall performance. In this paper, the first symbol to be detected is determined based on CSEP values, and then the next symbol to be detected is selected according to the updated CSEP while bilaterally searching from the boundary of the detected symbol group. Through computer simulations, we show that the proposed method has performance improvements with almost the same computation complexity over the conventional methods in the high SNR region. It has a performance approaching the MFB, known as the performance upper bound, within 2dB at the BER of $10^{-5}$.

  • In the Internet of Thing (IoT) framework, massive machine-type communications (MMTC) have required large spectral efficiency. For this, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has emerged as an efficient solution. Recently, a non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) NOMA scheme has been implemented without loss. This lossless NOMA without SIC is achieved via correlated superposition coding (SC), in contrast to conventional independent SC. However, conventional minimum high-correlated SC for only 2-user NOMA schemes was investigated in the lossless 2-user non-SIC NOMA implementation. Thus, this paper investigates a 3-user low-correlated SC scheme, especially for an inflated achievable sum rate, with a design of 3-user low-correlated SC. First, we design the 3-user low-correlated SC scheme by taking the minimum sum rate between 3-user SIC NOMA and 3-user non-SIC NOMA, both with correlated SC. Then, simulations demonstrate that the low correlation in the direction of the first user's power allocation inflates the sum rate in the same direction, compared to that of conventional minimum high-correlated SC NOMA, and such inflation due to low correlation is also observed similarly, in the direction of the second user's power allocation. Moreover, we also show that the two low correlations of the first and second users inflates doubly in the both directions of the first and second users' power allocations. As a result, the proposed 3-user low-correlated SC could be considered as a promising scheme, with the inflated sum rate in the future fifth-generation (5G) NOMA networks.

  • In this paper, we propose and simulate an efficient interference cancellation scheme with an optimal ordering successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm for ultra wideband (UWB)/multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems in a wireless body area network (WBAN). When there are several wireless communication devices on a human body, multiple access interference (MAI) usually occurs. To mitigate the effect of MAI and achieve additional diversity gain, we utilize SIC with an optimal ordering algorithm. A zero correlation duration (ZCD) code with robust MAI capability is employed as a spread code for UWB systems in a multi-device WBAN environment. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of the bit error rate (BER). Simulation results confirm that the BER performance can be improved significantly if the proposed interference cancellation scheme and the ZCD code are jointly employed.

  • This paper drives the exact expression of bit error rate(BER) performance for successive interference cancellation(SIC) algorithm against multipath interference components in a high-speed downlink packet access(HSDPA) system of W-CDMA downlink and the BER performance is evaluated by numerical analysis. Numerical results showed that the average BER performance is rapidly saturated in terms of increasing the number of multipath and is revealed significant improvement for improvement Processing gain(PG). For example, the average BER Performance of the SIC algorithm is superior to the performance of conventional scheme by more than 7dB and 1.4dB for processing gain PG=54 and 128 under the two-path channel and average BER=$1.0{\times}10^{-3}$, respectively. This results also indicated that the average BER saturation is occurred at nearly one weight factor which is assigned to pilot and data channels. Likewise, the average BER performance is greatly degraded due to increasing the interference power in proportional to the number of multipath with increasing multicode K. And the smaller multipath fading channel gain is arrived later, the more the average BER performance is improved. The results of performance analysis in this paper indicated that the multipath interference cancellation is required to improve the BER performance in a HSDPA system under multicode for high-speed packet transmission, low spreading factor, and multipath fading channel.

  • Since a sufficient condition on the larger rate volume of 3-user correlated information sources (CIS)/non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) over independent information sources (IIS)/SIC NOMA has not been investigated, this paper analyzes such a sufficient condition. First, we demonstrates that the rate volume of 3-user CIS/SIC NOMA is the same as a portion of the rate volume of 3-user IIS/SIC NOMA. Then, by identifying a dominant rate region, we calculate the sufficient condition on the larger rate volume of 3-user CIS/non-SIC NOMA over 3-user IIS/SIC NOMA. We also show that with such condition, the rate volume of 3-user CIS/non-SIC NOMA can be larger than that of 3-user IIS/SIC NOMA.
