QUASI HEMI-SLANT SUBMANIFOLDS OF COSYMPLECTIC MANIFOLDS

  • We introduce and study quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of almost contact metric manifolds (especially, cosymplectic manifolds) and validate its existence by providing some non-trivial examples. Necessary and sufficient conditions for integrability of distributions, which are involved in the definition of quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic manifolds, are obtained. Also, we investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic manifolds to be totally geodesic and study the geometry of foliations determined by the distributions.

A NOTE ON GCR-LIGHTLIKE WARPED PRODUCT SUBMANIFOLDS IN INDEFINITE KAEHLER MANIFOLDS

  • We prove the non-existence of warped product GCR-lightlike submanifolds of the type K × λ KT such that KT is a holomorphic submanifold and K is a totally real submanifold in an indefinite Kaehler manifold $\tilde{K}$. Further, the existence of GCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds of the type KT × λ K is obtained by establishing a characterization theorem in terms of the shape operator and the warping function in an indefinite Kaehler manifold. Consequently, we find some necessary and sufficient conditions for an isometrically immersed GCR-lightlike submanifold in an indefinite Kaehler manifold to be a GCR-lightlike warped product, in terms of the canonical structures f and ω. Moreover, we also derive a geometric estimate for the second fundamental form of GCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds, in terms of the Hessian of the warping function λ.

  • The main purpose of the present paper is to introduce a brief analysis on some properties of quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of Kenmotsu manifolds. After discussing the introduction and some preliminaries about the Kenmotsu manifold, we worked out some important results in the direction of integrability of the distributions of quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of Kenmotsu manifolds. Afterward, we investigate the conditions for quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of a Kenmotsu manifold to be totally geodesic and later we provide some non-trivial examples to validate the existence of such submanifolds.

  • In this paper, we study the curvature of locally symmetric or semi-symmetric half lightlike submanifolds M of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold $\bar{M}$, whose structure vector field is tangent to M. After that, we study the existence of the totally geodesic screen distribution of half lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kenmotsu manifolds with parallel co-screen distribution subject to the conditions: (1) M is locally symmetric, or (2) the lightlike transversal connection is flat.

  • We define a semi-symmetric metric connection in an almost r-paracontact Riemannian manifold and we consider submanifolds of an almost r-paracontact Riemannian manifold endowed with a semi-symmetric metric connection and obtain Gauss and Codazzi equations, Weingarten equation and curvature tensor for submanifolds of an almost r-paracontact Riemannian manifold endowed with a semi-symmetric metric connection.

  • In this paper, we study half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Kaehler manifold with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. First, we characterize the geometry of two types of half lightlike submanifolds of such an indefinite Kaehler manifold. Next, we investigate the geometry of half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite complex space form with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection.

  • In the previous paper we studied n-dimensional CR-submanifolds of (n-1) CR-dimension immersed in a complex projective space CP(sup)(n+p)/2, and especially determined such submanifolds under curvature conditions related to vertical direction; In the present article we determine such submanifolds under curvature conditions related to horizontal directions.

  • In this paper, we study the geometry of half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Sasakian manifold. There are several different types of half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Sasakian manifold according to the form of its structure vector field. We study two types of them here: tangential and ascreen half lightlike submanifolds.
