  • Visual discomfort is a common problem in three-dimensional videos. Among the methods to overcome visual discomfort presented in current research, disparity adjustment methods provide little guidance in determining the condition for disparity control. We propose a diaprity adjustment based on the characteristics of disparity distribution on visual comfort, where the visual comfort level is used as the adjustment paramter, in parallax barrier type auto-stereoscopic 3D display. In this paper, we use the horizontal image shift method for disparity adjustment to enhance visual comfort. The speeded-up robust feature is used to estimate the disparity distribution of 3D sequences, and the required amount for disparity control is chosen based on the pre-defined characteristics of disparity distribution on visual comfort. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we used a 3D equipment. Subjective tests were conducted at the fixed optimal viewing distance. The results show that comfortable videos were generated based on the proposed disparity adjustment method.

  • Background: Clinical manifestations of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) vary along the course of nerve damage. Nerve conduction studies (NCS) have been suggested as a way to confirm diagnoses of DPN, but the results have limited utility for evaluating clinical phenotypes. The current perception threshold (CPT) is a complementary method for diagnosing DPN and assessing DPN symptoms. We compared NCS variables according to clinical phenotypes determined by CPT measurements. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who underwent both NCS and CPT tests using a neurometer. CPT grades were used to determine the clinical phenotypes of DPN: normoesthesia (0 to 1.66), hyperesthesia (1.67 to 6.62), and hypoesthesia/anesthesia (6.63 to 12.0). The Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument (MNSI) was used to determine a subjective symptom score. DPN was diagnosed based on both patient symptoms (MNSI score ${\geq}3$) and abnormal NCS results. Results: A total of 202 patients (117 men and 85 women) were included in the final analysis. The average age was 62.6 years, and 71 patients (35.1%) were diagnosed with DPN. The CPT variables correlated with MNSI scores and NCS variables in patients with diabetes. Linear regression analyses indicated that hypoesthesia was associated with significantly lower summed velocities and sural amplitudes and velocities, and higher summed latencies, than normoesthesia. Sural amplitude was significantly lower in patients with hyperesthesia than in patients with normoesthesia. Conclusion: NCS variables differed among patients with diabetes according to clinical phenotypes based on CPT and decreased sural nerve velocities was associated with hyperesthesia.

  • Wind tunnel testing technique has been established as a powerful experimental method for predicting wind-induced loads on high-rise buildings. Accurate assessment of the design wind load combinations for tall buildings on the basis of wind tunnel tests is an extremely important and complicated issue. The traditional design practice for determining wind load combinations relies partly on subjective judgments and lacks a systematic and reliable method of evaluating critical load cases. This paper presents a novel optimization-based framework for determining wind tunnel derived load cases for the structural design of wind sensitive tall buildings. The peak factor is used to predict the expected maximum resultant responses from the correlated three-dimensional wind loads measured at each wind angle. An optimized convex hull is further developed to serve as the design envelope in which the peak values of the resultant responses at any azimuth angle are enclosed to represent the critical wind load cases. Furthermore, the appropriate number of load cases used for design purposes can be predicted based on a set of Pareto solutions. One 30-story building example is used to illustrate the effectiveness and practical application of the proposed optimization-based technique for the evaluation of peak resultant wind-induced load cases.

  • From the recent, an big issue of the internet attack is DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service). Some government agencies and companies will buy Anti-DDoS SW for protect their their network system form DDoS attack. But We don't have any objective valuation standard of Anti-DDoS SW. So When you try to buy an Anti-DDoS SW, you can get only subjective Anti-DDoS SW information which from Anti-DDoS SW vender. Anti-DDoS SW market is getting bigger, so market needs objective valuation standard of Anti-DDoS SW for a fair evaluation. In this paper, we describe a part of Anti-DDoS SW performance tests in valuation standard of Anti-DDoS SW.

  • Purpose: Various absorbable anti-adhesion agents have been used to prevent postoperative synechia formation after endonasal surgery. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-adhesion effects of HyFence and Mediclore after endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) compared to a mixed solution of hyaluronic acid and sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Guardix-Sol). Methods: In this retrospective study, endonasal DCR and silicone tube intubation were performed on 198 eyes of 151 patients. Three different anti-adhesion adjuvants were applied to the osteotomy site in the nasal cavity after standard endonasal DCR procedures. The subjects were classified into three respective groups: group A (71 eyes, Guardix-Sol 1.5 g), group B (89 eyes, HyFence 1.5 mL), and group C (38 eyes, Mediclore 1 cc). The three groups were evaluated by asking patients about subjective symptoms and by performing lacrimal irrigation tests and endoscopic examinations. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in age, sex, timing of tube removal, or follow-up period among the three groups. There were no statistically significant differences in success rates among the three groups (p = 0.990, 91.5% [65 / 71], 92.1% [82 / 89], and 92.1% [35 / 38], respectively). Conclusions: HyFence and Mediclore are safe and effective adjunctive modalities following endonasal DCR compared to Guardix-Sol. Therefore, these agents can be considered good alternatives to Guardix-Sol to increase the success rate of endonasal DCR in treating patients with poor prognosis.

  • This study investigated the risk factors of hypertension among individuals under and over 65 years of age. A total of 6,152 participants were analyzed using the 6th Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging. The collected data were analyzed by Chi-square tests and logistic regression using SPSS 23. The results showed that the subjective health status, diabetes, heart disease, and degree of obesity according to BMI were risk factors affecting hypertension in individuals both under and over age 65. In adults under age 65, chronic lung disease, digestive disease, and drinking were risk factors affecting hypertension. In elderly over age 65, region, arthritis and rheumatic disease, smoking, and cognitive function were risk factors affecting hypertension. There is a need for chronic disease management in Korea due to rapid aging. In particular, it is important to analyze for effective management age-related risk factors affecting steadily increasing hypertension with age. Therefore, it is necessary to manage chronic disease management through social welfare improvement and welfare plans for the elderly, as well as personal management.

  • The rapid development of information and communication technology has made it for people to pirate digital contents easily and quickly. Although many studies have investigated the underlying factors that lead to an individual engaging in digital piracy, few studies have provided holistic and integrative view on this issue. Therefore, this study attempts to build integrative research model based on theory of planned behavior (TPB), norm activation model (NAM), and habit. For this purpose, this study develops nine hypotheses that explain the relationship between attitude, personal norm, habit, and behavioral intention, and tests them with survey data collected from 337 participants. The results of this study show that attitude, perceived behavioral control, personal norm, and habit have impact on behavioral intention of digital piracy while subjective norm does not affect behavioral intention. This study contributes to expand existing studies by identifying the relationship between attitude, personal norm, habit and behavioral intention.

  • Objective: To correlate CT parameters on detector-based dual-energy CT enterography (DECTE) with Crohn's disease activity index (CDAI) and externally validate quantitative CT parameters. Materials and Methods: Thirty-nine patients with CD were retrospectively enrolled. Two radiologists reviewed DECTE images by consensus for qualitative and quantitative CT features. CT attenuation and iodine concentration for the diseased bowel were also measured. Univariate statistical tests were used to evaluate whether there was a significant difference in CTE features between remission and active groups, on the basis of the CDAI score. Pearson's correlation test and multiple linear regression analyses were used to assess the correlation between quantitative CT parameters and CDAI. For external validation, an additional 33 consecutive patients were recruited. The correlation and concordance rate were calculated between real and estimated CDAI. Results: There were significant differences between remission and active groups in the bowel enhancement pattern, subjective degree of enhancement, mesenteric fat infiltration, comb sign, and obstruction (p < 0.05). Significant correlations were found between CDAI and quantitative CT parameters, including number of lesions (correlation coefficient, r = 0.573), bowel wall thickness (r = 0.477), iodine concentration (r = 0.744), and relative degree of enhancement (r = 0.541; p < 0.05). Iodine concentration remained the sole independent variable associated with CDAI in multivariate analysis (p = 0.001). The linear regression equation for CDAI (y) and iodine concentration (x) was y = 53.549x + 55.111. For validation patients, a significant correlation (r = 0.925; p < 0.001) and high concordance rate (87.9%, 29/33) were observed between real and estimated CDAIs. Conclusion: Iodine concentration, measured on detector-based DECTE, represents a convenient and reproducible biomarker to monitor disease activity in CD.

  • This study identifies possible determinants that may have influences on the switching behavior from the current payment system of credit or check cards to the easy payment service based on push-pulling-mooring model. And this research empirically tests how those determinants affect switching intention to the easy payment service. The moderating effect of policy expectation is also taken into account. The findings show switching intention to the easy payment service is influenced by the followings: dissatisfaction with the current payment system as a pushing factor, perceived easy of use and trust in easy payment service as pulling factors, and affective/cognitive inertia and unfavorable subjective norm as mooring factors. The results also show that moderating effect of policy expectation exists in the relationship between perceived ubiquitousness and switching intention.

  • The fashion industry is creating innovative business models using artificial intelligence. To efficiently utilize artificial intelligence (AI), fashion data must be classified. Until now, such data have been classified focusing only on the objective properties of fashion products. Their subjective attributes, such as fashion brand sensibilities, are holistic and heuristic intuitions created by a combination of design elements. This study aims to improve the performance of collaborative filtering in the fashion industry by extracting fashion brand sensibility using computer vision technology. The image data set of fashion brand sensibility consists of high-end fashion brand photos that share sensibilities and communicate well in fashion. About 26,000 fashion photos of 11 high-end fashion brand sensibility labels have been collected from the 16FW to 21SS runway and 50 years of US Vogue magazines beginning from 1971. We use EfficientNet-B1 to establish the main architecture and fine-tune the network with ImageNet-ILSVRC. After training fashion brand sensibilities through deep learning, the proposed model achieved an F-1 score of 74% on accuracy tests. Furthermore, as a result of comparing AI machine and human experts, the proposed model is expected to be expanded to mass fashion brands.
