  • In a route plan, the route selection is a complicated problem to consider the spatial distribution and influence through overall related data and objective analysis on the social, economic and technical condition. The developed system in this study was compared and estimated by deciding a practical section for its validity and efficiency. Using Geographic Information System (GIS), the various information required for route selections in database was constructed, the characteristics of subject area by executing three-dimensional terrain analysis was grasped effectively, and the control point through buffering, overlay and location operation was extracted. An optimum route was selected by calculating the sum of alternatives to the sub-criteria weight, and from this result, there is a difference between real route and proposed route according to the prioritization of decision criteria based on the importance. This research could be constructed and applied geospatial information to the reasonable route plan and an optimum route selection efficiently using GIS. Therefore, the applications are presented by applying Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to the decision-making of information needed in route selection.

  • For estimating discharge and pollution loads into the Yeongsan lake, a conceptual watershed model HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program - Fortran) was applied to the Yeongsan River Basin. Various spatial data set including DEM, watershed boundaries and land uses were used to set up the model for the Yeongsan River Basin that was divided into 45 sub-basins. The model was calibrated and validated for the river discharges, SS, BOD, TN and TP concentrations against the data observed in 2011 at several monitoring stations. The simulation results show good agreement with the observed water flows($R^2$ = 0.46 - 0.97, NSE = 0.70 - 0.96). The simulated concentrations of SS, BOD, TN and TP are also in good agreement with the observed. The total freshwater discharge to the Yeongsan lake is estimated $2,406{\times}10^6m^3/year$ which the Jiseok and Hwangryoung stream contribute as much as 19%, 17% respectively. It is estimated that the total discharges to the Youngsan lake is SS 152,327 ton/year, BOD 15,721 ton/year, TN 10,071 ton/year, TP 563 ton/year. Both water and pollution loads are high in summer, particularly in July, when the monsoon season arrives at the Korean peninsula.

  • This paper introduces the high density discrete wavelet transform using quincunx sampling, which is a discrete wavelet transformation that combines the high density discrete transformation and non-separable processing method, each of which has its own characteristics and advantages. The high density discrete wavelet transformation is one that expands an N point signal to M transform coefficients with M > N. The high density discrete wavelet transformation is a new set of dyadic wavelet transformation with two generators. The construction provides a higher sampling in both time and frequency. This new transform is approximately shift-invariant and has intermediate scales. In two dimensions, this transform outperforms the standard discrete wavelet transformation in terms of shift-invariant. Although the transformation utilizes more wavelets, sampling rates are high costs and some lack a dominant spatial orientation, which prevents them from being able to isolate those directions. A solution to this problem is a non separable method. The quincunx lattice is a non-separable sampling method in image processing. It treats the different directions more homogeneously than the separable two dimensional schemes. Proposed wavelet transformation can generate sub-images of multiple degrees rotated versions. Therefore, This method services good performance in image processing fields.

  • Short ($\tau$=40 $mutextrm{s}$) and high-voltage ($U_{sub}$=2~8 kV) negative substrate bias pulses were used to assist pulsed magnetron sputtering DLC films deposition. Space- and time-resolved probe measurements of the plasma characteristics have been performed. It was shown that in case of high-voltage substrate bias spatial non-uniformity of the magnetron discharge plasma density greatly affected DLC deposition process. By Raman spectroscopy it was found that maximum percentage of s $p^3$-bonded carbon atoms (40 ~ 50%) in the coating was attained at energy $E_{c}$ ~700 eV per deposited carbon atom. Despite rather low diamond-like phase content these coatings are characterized by good adhesion due to ion mixing promoted by high acceleration voltage. Short duration of the bias pulses is also important to prevent electric breakdowns of insulating DLC film during its growth.wth.

  • This paper proposes an approach of automatically identifying the center of fiducial marks using radiometric and geometric characteristics of those marks existing on aerial photographs. Candidate region surrounding a mark, based on radiometric strategy, is determined by producing a bi-level image and by applying morphological operations. Based on geometric strategy, the central location of a mark is determined by applying ${\bigtriangledown}^G$ filtering and symmetry-enhancement filtering, and by finding peak location of symmetry. Evaluation with respect to 66 cases of sub-images containing a fiducial mark showed that the central location of the mark is determined up to around one pixel difference whit it is compared to a manual inspection.

  • The landscape design was presented to a design for the theme park in Honseong. The site is located in Janchuk-li Unha-meon Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do and an area of about $1,594,001m^2$. This landscape design set the several main criteria as follows: an identity of GayanCheon's Picked Shrimps theme park, a cultural and tourist place for people, efficiency of landuse, and an environment friendly design. This GyanCheon's Picked Shrimps theme park is a multiple place for enjoying, resting, learning, and playing. An identity of this park was expressed by introducing the ocean scenery into park area which was devided 5 sub-spaces: a Place of the ocean King, an Entrance space for a Theme park, a Clock tower plaza, a Shrimp village, and a Distribution complex. Each space has the Theme about "shrimp" and is carefully connected with each other in terms of spatial sequence. By introducing diverse gathering and symbolical spaces for many kinds of events, the site could function as a cultural and tourist place of the Hongsung-gun.

  • We have performed cosmological hydrodynamic simulations that include the effects of radiative heating/cooling, star formation, feedback by supernova explosions, and metallicity evolution. Our simulations cover a cubic box of a side length 4 Mpc/h with 130 million particles. The mass of each particle is $3.4{\times}10^4M_{\odot}$, thus sub-galactic mini-halos can be resolved with more than hundred particles. Our simulation follows the whole formation process of the mini-halos (M< $10^7M_{\odot}$) around dwarf galaxies. We discuss various properties of the mini halos such as mass function, specific frequency, baryon-to-dark matter ratio, metallicity, spatial distribution, and orbit eccentricity distribution as functions of redshift and host galaxy mass. We also discuss how the formation and evolution of the mini halos are affected by the epoch of the reionization.

  • Rolling-sliding, cyclic contact of wheel and rail progressively alters the microstructure of the contacting steels, eventually leading to micro-scale crack initiation, wear and macro-scale crack growth in the railhead. Relating the microstructural changes to subsequent wear and cracking is being accomplished through modelling at three spatial scales: (i) bulk material (ii) multi-grain and (iii) sub-grain. The models incorporate detailed information from metallurgical examinations of used rails and tested rail material. The initial 2-dimensional models representing the rail material are being further developed into 3-dimensional models. Modelling is taking account of thermal effects, and traffic patterns to which the rails are exposed.

  • Direct numerical and large eddy simulations of transitional flows around studs installed on flat plate and bulbous bow have been performed to investigate an effectiveness of turbulence stimulators on laminar-to-turbulence transition at a very low speed. The flow velocity was determined to be 0.366m/s corresponding to 4 knots of full-scale ship speed when the objective ship was Kriso container ship. The spatial evolution of skin friction coefficient disclosed that a fully development of turbulence was observed behind the second stud installed on flat plate while a rapid transition from laminar to turbulence gave rise to the fully development of turbulence behind the first stud installed on bulbous bow. A comparison of streamwise mean velocity profiles showed that the viscous sublayer and log-layer were in good agreement with previous results although the friction velocity of Smagrosinsky sub-grid scale model was about 10% larger than that of direct numerical simulation. While the turbulence intensities of bulbous bow was similar to those of flat plate in inner region, larger intensities of turbulence were observed in outer region of bulbous bow than those of flat plate.
