Method: The sample consisted of 208 elderly and data was collected from November 18 to December 21, 2002. The instrument of this study was a structured questionnaire including health promoting behaviors, self-efficacy, family support, general characteristics. Analysis of the data was done by use of descriptive statistics, t or F, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Stepwise multiple regression. Results: 1. The general characteristics related to health promoting behavior were gender, family structure, education level and monthly pocket money. 2. The general characteristics related to self efficacy were gender, age, family structure, education level, religion and monthly pocket money. 3. The general characteristics did not affect family support. 4. Health promoting behavior score was the highest in the interpersonal support (2.72) and in order was nutrition(2.65), stress management(2.31), self actualization(2.30), exercise(2.05), health responsibility(1.86). 5. There was a significantly high correlation between health promoting behavior and self efficacy(r= .605, p= .000), and family support(r= .500, p= .000) and between self-efficacy and family support were correlated relatively high(r= .498, p= .000) 6. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of health promotion behavior in elderly was self-efficacy (39.6%). A combination of self-efficacy, family support, monthly pocket money, education level and present illness status explained 48.5% of the variance for health promoting behavior. In conclusion, the results of this study showed that self-efficacy and family support are very important variables in explaining the health promoting behaviors in elderly. Therefore, these variables should be considered in nursing intervention development and education, especially, self-efficacy improving programs that considered exercise and health responsibility are expected to effect the health promoting behavior in elderly.

The results of the study are as follows. First, career barriers perceived by college students showed a significant positive correlation with career decision self - efficacy and career preparation behavior(-), and career decision efficacy showed a statistically significant correlation with career preparation behavior(+). Second, as a result of linear regression analysis to examine the effect of career barriers on career preparation behavior, lack of self - clarification, lack of job information, and lack of recognition of need were subordinate factors of career barriers. Third, as a result of linear regression analysis to examine the effect of career decision - making self - efficacy on career preparation behavior, goal setting and job information, which are sub - factors of career decision self - efficacy, were analyzed. Fourth, mediating effects of career decision self - efficacy on career barriers and career preparation behavior were analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. The forty-two diabetic children participating in this study were selected from outpatients. he period of data collection was August 8 to December 9, 1994. Collected data were analyzed by means of chi-square test, t-test, Pearson correlation using SPSS/P $C^+. The result are summarized as follows : 1. The mean score of perceived self-efficacy was 3. 21 that of sick-role behavioral compliance 3.17. 2. Perceived self-efficacy and sick-role behavioral compliance had a positive correlation which was statistically significant(r=0.77, p<0.001). 3. There were statistically significant difference in perceived self-efficacy according to age(p<0. 01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet(p<0.001). 4. There were statistically significant difference in sick-role behavioral compliance according to age (p<0.01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet (p<0.001). These results suggest that perceived self-efficacy is an important variable in the compliance of diabetic children. Nursing intervention needs to be directed at promoting perceived self-efficacy to maintain sickrole behavioral compliance for diabetic children. The instruments had used for this study were the self-efficacy, the life event checklist, and Family APGAR. The data were analyzed using frequency, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Result: Pearson correlation analysis revealed that there were negative correlations between the self-efficacy and the stress. However, in case of the subjects who recorded higher scores at self-efficacy they showed higher scores at family function. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that powerful predictors of adolescent's self-efficacy were family function and relations of schoolmate. Conclusion: From these results, we can find that the family function and relations of schoolmate were actual factors theta affected the self-efficacy of adolescents. Accordingly, affirmative emotion in family, harmonic communication among family members and sharing housekeeping works is recommended as a useful method in order to enhance the family function, and then the self-efficacy of adolescence will be increased.

The data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation and hierarchical multiple regression methods. Result : University students' self-efficacy has significantly positive impact on creative thinking ability(p<.001) with 26.4% of the variance and creative disposition(p<.001) with 48.9%. Creative thinking ability as well as the disposition related to creativity that university students possessed were significantly influenced by efficacy on self-control and efficacy on taking difficult tasks.
