The Development of a Dormitory Management System Using the Ubiquitous and Automation Technology (유비쿼터스와 자동화 기술을 이용한 기숙사 관리 시스템 개발)

  • Today the use of RFID is extended in medical. circulation market, manufacture, security field, etc. Besides, the book-lending and the attendance management system are on an increasing trend in the use of RFID The developed dormitory management system is composed of a support program, a room management program, a manager program, and a mobile program etc.. In the support program a student(or a manager) can see his(or all member's) entrance and exit history. The room management program decides whether a student can enter the dormitory or not and manages the use of the power after or inquiring a RFID's input tag information into database server. The manager program is able to input and modify a room state and the fixtures information in the room required to operate the room management program, to set up and retrieve a student's entrance and exit information and a room state information. The mobile program enables a manager to check student's identity whether he is in or out, and the manager can know the personal information of being out in detail.

  • The purpose of this study is the development of SPMP(Student Portfolio Management Program) to aid performance of student program outcomes related to program educational objectives. SPMP is developed to manage accreditation conditions, student materials, academic results through system database and to provide synthetic data for engineering education through statistical process. There are three functions to construct SPMP. First, the function of student information management is organized on various input data related to academic program, resume, etc. Second, the function of accreditation condition management is identified by the evaluation of program outcomes, subject grades, etc. Third, the function of course work data management is made by the operation of the academic reports and productions. The result of this study is expected to effectively provide constructive directions for continuous management in accreditation of engineering education and to support student portfolio for submission in required application.

Case Study on a Revised Career Fair at a Medical School Based on the Career Planning Process Model (진로계획과정모형에 기반한 충남대학교 의과대학 진로박람회 개선 사례)

  • Medical students' career choices hold significant importance at both individual and national levels. Therefore, Chungnam National University College of Medicine aimed to systematize its revised career fair in 2022, basing its efforts on a career planning process model. Chungnam National University College of Medicine sought to formalize the design process by utilizing the ADDIE model (analysis design, development, implementation, evaluation model) in developing programs for the career fair program. Throughout the entire process, the student support center and student council actively collaborated, striving to incorporate students' requests and opinions. They designed and developed a program for all stages of the career planning process. However, a new stage ("review & ref lection") was added to the existing 4-phase model, creating a transformed framework where this stage interacts with the original 4 phases. Each stage involved portfolios, career aptitude tests, career-related lectures, posters with introductory information about majors, and booths for each major. The revised career fair attracted double the expected participants (N=589). The program evaluation survey showed overall positive responses (N=135). Additionally, some factors in the Specialty Indecision Scale showed significant differences between before and after the career fair. The success of the newly developed career fair at Chungnam National University College of Medicine can be attributed to its systematic framework and the active involvement of students throughout the process. However, for aspects with long-term implications, such as "understand yourself " and "choose your specialty," there may be a need for supplementary programs.

Design and Implementation of a Web-based Programming Class Support System (웹기반 프로그래밍 언어 강의 지원 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a web-based programming class support system to help a lecturer to teach a programming language to students effectively. The proposed system is composed of a error analysis step and a verification step. The error analysis step checks whether there are compile time errors or run time errors in each student's submitted program. Given some errors, the system provides helpful feedback for the student to fix the errors. On the contrary, the system provides quick feedback after checking the source code style, comments, and plagiarism in the submitted program. As soon as the student submits the program, the student can see the check results. According to the result of utilizing the proposed system in a C programming language class, students tend to submit program assignments actively.

Effects of Software Education Program for the Education Welfare Priority Support Students on Learning Motivation, Self-efficacy and Goal Orientation

  • In this paper, we propose a Software Education Program for the Education Welfare Priority Support students. Elementary school students of education welfare priority support programs has low school satisfaction level and course maturity. Also, they have various problem such as relatively large digital divide when compared to general student. To solve such problem, we designed, developed, and applied a software education program on education welfare priority support program's elementary school students to analyze its effect on their learning motivation, self-efficacy, and goal orientation. Software education program followed the main stages of ADDIE model and was designed into experience Sharing, Requirements analysis, Sharing, Grouping, and Organizing. 20 of 6th graders in education welfare priority support programs were chosen as subject for software education program. The effectiveness has been analyzed through pre, and pro test. As a result of the analysis, we found that the developed software education program has meaningful effect on Learning Motivation, Self-efficacy, and Goal Orientation of education welfare priority support program's elementary students.

A Study on Perception Changes Before and After an LIS Student-Librarian Mentoring Program (예비사서-사서간 멘토링 프로그램 운영전후 인식변화연구)

  • Mentoring programs have proven highly successful in many industries, and therefore there is an increasing demand for such programs in other fields. Therefore, this study proposed to design and operate an LIS student-librarian mentoring program. To accomplish this, mentees were selected from the LIS students at K University, and mentors were selected by mentees from a pool of LIS workers. The mentoring program was then operated for three months, and all participants were surveyed before and after the program. As a result, first, it was revealed that the librarian mentoring program allowed mentees to enhance their understanding of the practical field, and help them to set career paths and goals. Second, participants insisted that six months is a more appropriate mentoring period, 2-3 hours per meeting is proper as a mentoring time, and considered that the information for mentors and mentees must be provided to each other before mentoring. Third, the intention to rejoin a mentoring program in the future was very high in both groups, but they insisted that the financial support, locational support, and providing sufficient information about mentoring program must be considered.

Needs Assessment of Applying Anger Management Program based on Professor-students Counseling Activity for University Students: Focus Group Interview in University Students (교수-학생 면담활동을 활용한 대학생의 분노관리 프로그램 운영에 대한 요구도 조사: 대학생 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the demand of applying an anger management program for university students, based on professor-student counseling activity. 2016, data was collected using five focus group interviews were recorded and transcribed. All interviews were recorded and transcribed, and data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. We extracted the following 9 categories across 3 main themes: 1) Views on applying an anger management program based on professor-student counseling activity: required or not required; 2) Competence of the professor: trust, counseling expertise, and receptive attitude; and 3) Effective program management plans: separation from the advisor or reducing the role of the advisor, program composition and contents, administrative support from the university, facilitating a supportive environment for counseling. In conclusion, enhancement can be achieved through an anger management program based on professor-student counseling activity by focusing efforts on increasing interactions between professors and students, and improving the counseling competence of professors. Additionally, administrative support from the university and steps to improve awareness in professors, students, and university authorities are necessary.

  • Purpose: This study was done to Identify the effects of a communication training program on communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Method: A communication training program was provided to student nurses who were selected as participants during a course of clinical practice. Of the students 23 were assigned to experimental group and 22 to the control group. The experimental part of the study was done with the experimental group during 6 week program course. The control group received only a communication theory course. Results: Communication and interpersonal relations scores on the post-test in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. Conclusion: This program allowed nursing students to advance their communication skills during their clinical trials. These are skills which are necessary for nursing practice. The study demonstrated that a group training program that can provide students with practical support by improving the personal relationship.

  • The evaluation of programs related to SW development often only provides the right answer of the student's program. The purpose of this study was to provide the baseline data about the contents of the program evaluation support the teacher's class and which part should be considered important in partial scoring. To accomplish the goal, we had two months of Python lessons for 90 middle school students in free-semester and analyzed 1185 source codes collected during the lessons. Result of analysis, many students made mistakes about syntax errors and teachers considered logic errors as important. Based on the result, it is necessary to reduce the student's syntax errors and teachers need to evaluate student's program with considering the importance of logical aspects and necessary to devise a partial scoring. This study has significance about consideration of program evaluation from the perspective of learning support and evaluation.

Factors Affecting Middle School Students' Smoking Behavior (중학생의 흡연행위에 영향을 주는 요인)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the relationship between stress perceived by middle school students and social support level and to investigate the factors affecting middle school students' smoking behavior. Method: The data was collected from four hundred and thirteen students of one boys' middle school and one girls' middle school. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.5 Win Program. Result: Smoking rate was higher in girls than boys. The factors affecting smoking behavior were drinking (OR=67.62, P<0.01), having one parent or no parents(OR=9.98, P<0.05), and higher material support(OR=4.67, P<0.05). Conclusion: This results showed that smoking prevention program is needed for girls' middle school students. To prevent smoking, teachers should help students to cope with stress from schools and their environments with careful guidance, and organized support for the student with one parent or no parents should also be established. Furthermore, guidance in student's relationships with peers is needed regarding appropriate allowance, drinking, or substance use.
