재가 관절염 노인의 낙상 예방행위 예측모형 구축 (A Structural Equation Model of Fall Prevention Behavior among Community-dwelling Older Adults with Osteoarthritis)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explain fall prevention behaviors of community-dwelling elderly with osteoarthritis based on the Health Belief Model. Methods: A total of 200 older adults with osteoarthritis residing in community was recruited from July 10 to August 30, 2013. The direct and indirect effects of perceived fall risk, perceived benefits and barriers, and self efficacy of fall prevention were examined on fall prevention behaviors. Data were collected with structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 program. Results: The hypothetical model was a good fit for the data based on the model fit indices. Among socio-demographic variables, age and fall knowledge showed significant direct effects on fall prevention behaviors. The constructed model explained 34.2% of the variance of fall prevention behaviors, including perceived fall risk and efficacy of fall prevention behaviors as significant predictors. Conclusion: The findings revealed the need to develop an effective nursing intervention to promote fall prevention behaviors of community-dwelling elderly with osteoarthritis by focusing on perceived fall risk and efficacy of fall prevention behaviors. Knowledge about fall can also be increased by an age-based education program.

사행성 게임 이용자의 문제도박 예측 구조모형 (Testing a Model to Predict Problem Gambling in Speculative Game Users)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to develop and test a model for predicting problem gambling in speculative game users based on Blaszczynski and Nower's pathways model of problem and pathological gambling. Methods: The participants were 262 speculative game users recruited from seven speculative gambling places located in Seoul, Gangwon, and Gyeonggi, Korea. They completed a structured self-report questionnaire comprising measures of problem gambling, negative emotions, attentional impulsivity, motor impulsivity, non-planning impulsivity, gambler's fallacy, and gambling self-efficacy. Structural Equation Modeling was used to test the hypothesized model and to examine the direct and indirect effects on problem gambling in speculative game users using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs. Results: The hypothetical research model provided a reasonable fit to the data. Negative emotions, motor impulsivity, gambler's fallacy, and gambling self-efficacy had direct effects on problem gambling in speculative game users, while indirect effects were reported for negative emotions, motor impulsivity, and gambler's fallacy. These predictors explained 75.2% problem gambling in speculative game users. Conclusion: The findings suggest that developing intervention programs to reduce negative emotions, motor impulsivity, and gambler's fallacy, and to increase gambling self-efficacy in speculative game users are needed to prevent their problem gambling.

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF SEDIMENT TRANSPORT IN CONNECTION WITH ARTIFICIAL GRAIN FEEDING ACTIVITIES IN THE RIVER RHINE

  • The bed evolution of the stretch of the River Rhine between km-812.5 and km-821.5 is characterised by general bed degradation as a result of the river training works and dredging activities of the last two centuries. The degradation of the river bed affects the water levels, and so the navigation conditions. To combat the erosion of the river bed with the aim to keep up the shipping traffic and to avoid the ecological system damages due to water level reductions, sand-gravel-mixtures were added to the river (so called artificial grain feeding activities). This paper presents the results of an application of a graded sediment transport model in order to study morpholodynamical characteristics due to artificial grain feeding activities in the river stretch. The finite element code TELEMAC2D was used for flow calculation by solving the 2D shallow water equation on non-structured grids. The sediment transport module SISYPHE has been developed for graded sediment transport using a multiple layer model. The needs to apply such graded sediment transport approaches to study morphological processes in the domain are discussed. The calculations have been carried out for the case of middle water flow and different size-fraction distributions. The results show that the grain feeding process could be well simulated by the model.

폐결핵 입원환자의 건강관련 삶의 질 예측모형 (Prediction Model for Health-Related Quality of Life in Hospitalized Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to construct and test a structural equation model of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among hospitalized patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). Methods: Participants were 256 patients with PTB who were 20 years or older and admitted in two national tuberculosis hospitals. The patients participated in pulmonary function testing and responded to structured questionaries. Results: The goodness-of-fit statistics of the final hypothetical model were as follows: ${\chi}^2/df=2.19$, RMSEA=.07, SRMR=.05, GFI=.95, NFI=.95, CFI=.96, TLI=.92, and PCFI=.52. Symptoms and general health perception had significant direct effects, and subjective economic status, social support and stigma had significant indirect effect on HRQoL of hospitalized patients with PTB. These variables explained 64% of variance in the prediction model. Conclusion: Findings suggest that strategies and intervention for physical symptoms and depressive symptoms are crucial to improve the quality of life in hospitalized patients with PTB. The development of various social support programs is also recommended.

직무특성모형에 근거한 중환자실 간호사의 간호업무성과 설명요인 (Work Performance of Critical Care Nurses Based on the Job Characteristics Model)

  • Purpose: The study examined core job characteristics and job preference to explain work performance among critical care nurses. The theoretical model was constructed based on the job characteristics model with core job characteristics as exogenous variables, and work performance and job preference as endogenous variables. Methods: A total of 228 hospital nurses participated in the study from May to September, 2015. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results: The model showed a good fit to the data with $x^2/df=2.90$, goodness of fit index = .91, root mean square residual = .20, comparative fit index = .93, and incremental fit index = .93. The core job characteristics explained 64% of the variance in job preference. The core job characteristics and job preference explained 52% of the variance in work performance. Conclusions: The core job characteristics can explain the work performance among critical care nurses through job preference. Effective strategies to improve the work performance among critical care nurses should focus on the application of the core job characteristic into a productive work environment. Further studies are warranted to explore the role of job preference of critical care nurses in promoting their work performance.

간호생산성 영향요인 구조모형 분석 (Structural Equation Modeling on Nursing Productivity of Nurses in Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose and test a predictive model that could explain and predict nursing productivity. Methods: A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted with 360 nurses in Korea. The data were analyzed using SPSS Windows 18.0 and AMOS 19.0 program. Results: Based on the constructed model, burnout and organizational commitment were found to have direct effects on nurses' turnover intention and nursing productivity. While nursing work environment was found to have indirect effects on nurses' turnover intention and nursing productivity. Conclusion: This structural equational model is a comprehensive theoretical model that explains the related factors and their relationship with nursing productivity. Comprehensive organizational interventions to improve nursing productivity should focus on improving the nursing work environment. Findings from this study can be used to design appropriate strategies to decrease nurse turnover in Korea. Further studies are needed to prospectively verify these causal relationships with larger samples.

직무요구-자원모형에 의한 간호사의 소진과 직무만족 분석 (Analysis of Burnout and Job Satisfaction among Nurses Based on the Job Demand-Resource Model)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine burnout and job satisfaction among nurses based on Job Demand-Resource Model. Methods: A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted with 464 hospital nurses. Analysis of data was done with both SPSS Win 17.0 for descriptive statistics and AMOS 18.0 for the structural equation model. Results: The hypothetical model yielded the following Chi-square=34.13 (p=<.001), df=6, GFI=.98, AGFI=.92, CFI=.94, RMSR=.02, NFI=.93, IFI=.94 and showed good fit indices. Workload had a direct effect on emotional exhaustion (${\beta}$=0.39), whereas supervisor support had direct effects on emotional exhaustion (${\beta}$=-0.24), depersonalization (${\beta}$=-0.11), and low personal accomplishment (${\beta}$=-0.22). Emotional exhaustion (${\beta}$=-0.42), depersonalization (${\beta}$=-0.11) and low personal accomplishment (${\beta}$=-0.36) had significant direct effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion: The results suggest that nurses' workload should be decreased and supervisor's support should be increased in order to retain nurses. Further study with a longitudinal design is necessary.

자기결정성이론 기반 관상동맥중재술 환자의 건강행위 이행 구조모형 (A Structural Model of Health Behavior Compliance in Patients with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention based on Self-Determination Theory)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model of health behavior compliance among patients with percutaneous coronary intervention based on self-determination theory. Methods: A total of 227 participants who received follow-up care after percutaneous coronary intervention were recruited. A structured questionnaire was used to assess health providers' autonomous support, basic psychological needs, autonomous motivation, controlled motivation, type D personality, and health behavior compliance. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 program. Results: The final hypothetical model showed a good fitness with data: GFI=.94, RMSEA=.07, CFI=.96, NFI=.92, TLI=.94. The results revealed that autonomous support of health care providers, basic psychological needs, and autonomous motivation, and D-type personality accounted for 51.8% of health behavior compliance. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that enhanced autonomous support of health care providers is essential to promote patients' basic psychological needs and autonomous motivation. This leads to maximized compliance to the health behaviors among patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention. We recommend that health care institutions establish various measures to foster the special environments in which health care providers can actively provide and utilize autonomous support for their patients.

자녀의 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 학부모 의지에 미치는 요인의 구조방정식 모형 (The Structural Equation Modeling of Factors Affecting the Parent Willingness on Child's Software Education)

  • 본 연구에서는 학부모가 자녀의 SW교육 의지에 미치는 영향이 무엇인지 분석하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 설계하기 위해 변인을 자녀의 SW 관심도, 부모의 SW정책 인식, SW관련 역량, 자녀의 SW 진로, 자녀에 대한 SW교육 의지로 설정하고 SW교육 경험이 있는 자녀를 둔 부모를 대상으로 검사하였다. 연구 결과 자녀의 SW 교육에 대한 학부모 의지에 미치는 요인은 자녀의 SW 관련 직업을 매개로 SW관련 정책과 SW 역량의 중요성에 대한 인식이 중요한 변인으로 작용하였고, 자녀의 SW 관심도는 직접적으로 중요한 요인임을 밝혔다.

사회적 요인과 게임적 요인이 모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임 몰입에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Social Factors and Game Factors on Commitment of Mobile Social Network Games(M-SNG))

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study are (1) to examine why users commit to M-SNG and (2) to understand what factors impact M-SNG users' enjoyment, motivation and commitment. Methods: We use a questionnaire survey to collect 190 data on users' perception on M-SNG. we also use a structural equation modeling method with Smart PLS 3.0 Results: Playfulness, design aesthetics, competition and social identity are found to be statistically significant factors affecting enjoyment and motivation. Also, enjoyment and motivation are found to be statistically significant factors affecting commitment. Conclusion: We suggest three points of view as game factors, socio-game factors, and social factors. Game factors are more important than other factors. Also, enjoyment is a more powerful factor than motivation in affecting user's commitment to using M-SNG.
