The composition and polymeric structure of starch are the most important factors to determine the functional properties of rice. In an effort to relate the structural characteristics and its functional properties of starch in rice, molecular structural properties of starch from 6 rice cultivars were analysed. To relate the structure and function of starch the texture of Jeung-pyun made of rice were analyzed during retrogradation. The polymeric structure of rice starch was analyzed by debranching with isoamylase after gelatinization and fractionated with Sephadex G-75 gel filteration. The size fractionated debranched starch was categorized into four groups such as Fraction I, II, III and Intermediate Fraction depending in their max, The fractions with the max higher than 620 nm were designated as Fraction I, while those in the range of 600-620 nm and 540-600 nm as the Intermediate Fraction and Fraction II, respectively. The Fractions with the max lower than 540 were described as Fraction III. The average degree of polymerization (DP) of the Fraction I was estimated to be higher than 200, and those of other fractions, i.e. the Intermediate Fraction I, Fraction II and III were 150,45 and 25, respectively. The levels of Fraction I were varied from II to 35% of total sugar. The Fraction I showed the linear relationship with the amylse contents, and the Intermediate Fraction, which might contain the mixture of short chain of amylose and debranched long chain of amylopectin, were measured to be in the range of 2.7∼8.4%. The levels of fraction II and III, both to be considered as the branches of amylopectin, were ranged 14.5∼23.6% and 39.7∼73.0%, respectively. The ratio of Fraction III to Fraction II describing the degree of branch or compactness of amylopectin was estimated to be around 4.0 for waxy varieties and around 2.0 for high amylose cultivars. With these results, it can be suggested that the degree of branch of the amylopectin may effect on amylose contents of starch or rice versa, To invertigate processing aptitude of different rice cultivars for the preparation of Jeung-pyun, its texture was analyzed by Instron, hardness, cohesiveness, elasticity, gumminess and chewiness of Jeung-pyun made of rice showed the significant relationship with the amylose content. Hardness was increased during retrogradation of product, but the relationship between hardness and amylose content due to not only difference in amylose content but also difference in structural characteristics of starch. In analysis of relationship between structure of rice starch and mechanical properties of Jeung-pyun during retrogradation elasticity did not show any relationship before retrogradation bur during retrogradation showed significant correlation. With these result, it can be suggested that the degree of branch of the amylopectin may effect on elasticity during retrogradation. However hardness, cohesiveness, gumminess and chewiness which were significant different before retrogradation, showed some correlation with structure of rice starch during retrigradation.

Numerous psychotropic and addictive substances possess structural features similar to those of β-phenethylamine (β-PEA). In this study, we selected 29 β-PEA derivatives and determined their structure-activity relationship (SAR) to their ability to inhibit dopamine (DA) reuptake; conducted docking simulation for two selected compounds; and identified their potential functionals. The compounds were subdivided into arylethylamines, 2-(alkyl amino)-1-arylalkan-1-one derivatives and alkyl 2-phenyl-2-(piperidin-2-yl)acetate derivatives. An aromatic group, alkyl group, and alkylamine derivative were attached to the arylethylamine and 2-(alkyl amino)-1-arylalkan-1-one derivatives. The inhibitory effect of the compounds on dopamine reuptake increased in the order of the compounds substituted with phenyl, thiophenyl, and substituted phenyl groups in the aromatic position; compounds with longer alkyl groups and smaller ring-sized compounds at the alkylamine position showed stronger inhibitory activities. Docking simulation conducted for two compounds, 9 and 28, showed that the (S)-form of compound 9 was more stable than the (R)-form, with a good fit into the binding site covered by helices 1, 3, and 6 of human dopamine transporter (hDAT). In contrast, the (R, S)-configuration of compound 28 was more stable than that of other isomers and was firmly placed in the binding pocket of DAT bound to DA. DA-induced endocytosis of dopamine D2 receptors was inhibited when they were co-expressed with DAT, which lowered extracellular DA levels, and uninhibited when they were pretreated with compound 9 or 28. In summary, this study revealed critical structural features responsible for the inhibition of DA reuptake and the functional role of DA reuptake inhibitors in regulating D2 receptor function.

We introduce a spectral reconstruction method to enhance the spectral resolution in a static modulated Fourier-transform spectrometer. The optical-path difference and the interferogram in the focal plane, as well as the relationship of the interferogram and the spectrum, are discussed. Additionally, for better spectral reconstruction, applications of phase-error correction and apodization are considered. As a result, the transfer function of the spectrometer is calculated, and then the spectrum is reconstructed based on the relationship between the transfer function and the interferogram. The spectrometer comprises a modified Sagnac interferometer. The spectral reconstruction is conducted with a source with central wave number of 6,451 cm-1 and spectral width of 337 cm-1. In a conventional Fourier-transform method the best spectral resolution is 27 cm-1, but by means of the spectral reconstruction method the spectral resolution improved to 8.7 cm-1, without changing the interferometric structure. Compared to a conventional Fourier-transform method, the spectral width in the reconstructed spectrum is narrower by 20 cm-1, and closer to the reference spectrum. The proposed method allows high performance for static modulated Fourier-transform spectrometers.
"Interactivity refers to the possibility of an audience actively participating in the control of an artwork or representation." Andy Cameron, Dissimulations Interaction can be described as a way or function that improves the participation of audiences/viewers to being immersed into the medium itself. Until now, however, in terms of interactive cinema, interaction has not shown a sufficient participation for audiences. Specifically, audiences/viewers described that the structure of storytelling has failed to satisfy their requirements, in order to participate in the structure of storytelling. The aim of the research itself, therefore, began to ask and wonder why audiences/viewers criticised the participation which audiences/viewers are able to control storytelling, in interactive cinema, could not satisfied them in order to control and follow a storyline of interaction. In general idea, in interactive cinema, the function which allows audiences/viewers to be immersed into the storylines, must allow the immediacies of interaction. Audiences/viewers must therefore be able to satisfy the general idea of interactive cinema through controlling the directions of every choice offered. They must also be able to be immersed in the interactive storylines. Which of the prime causes can be improved or re-considered, to satisfy the participation requirements of audiences/viewers? The intention of this research also began to investigate a suitable method of storytelling within a narrative structure of interactive medium (interactive cinema). Through questioning the matter (it will be described in a later chapter), this research will be focused on the relationship between narrative structured interaction and audiences/viewers, which is of prime importance in relation to interaction. To further the research, Pilot study (experiment with the basic interactive narrative structure) was offered in order to understand and maintain a suitable method of storytelling within a narrative structure of interactive cinema and it also was explored to understand how the aim of the research would be maintained for further qualitative research.
Background: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model, created by the World Health Organization, provides a theoretical framework that can be applied in the diagnosis and treatment of various disorders. Objects: Our research purposed to ascertain the relationship between structure/function, activity, and participation domain variables of the ICF and pain, pain-associated disability, activities of daily living (ADL), and quality of life in patients with chronic low back pain (LBP). Methods: Two-hundred patients with chronic LBP (mean age: 35.5 ± 8.8 years, females, n = 40) were recruited from hospital and community settings. We evaluated the body structure/function domain variable using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and Roland-Morris disability (RMD) questionnaire. To evaluate the activity domain variable, we used the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBDS). For clinical outcome measures, we used Short-form 12 (SF-12). Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to ascertain the relationships among the variables (p < 0.05). All the participants with LBP received 30 minutes of conventional physical therapy 3 days/week for 4 weeks. Results: There were significant correlations between the body structure/function domain (NPRS and RMD questionnaire), activity domain (ODI and QBDS), and participation domain variables (SF-12), rending from pre-intervention (r = -0.723 to 0.783) and postintervention (r = -0.742 to 0.757, p < 0.05). Conclusion: The identification of a significant difference between these domain variables point to important relationships between pain, disability, performance of ADL, and quality in participants with LBP.
Spatial perception and spatial structure that focus on psychological effects produce a real force through the medium of space that can control human actions, even their psychology. The job of understanding the characteristics and effects of architectural spaces that recognize the relationship between architecture and human beings, including the psychological dimension, is an alternative search for quality spaces that can increase the mutual relationship between space and human beings. This paper introduces two propositions called "space" and "psychology" in order to discover a meta-pattern connecting space and the human mind with the aim of systematizing that internal network and establishing a new architectural system concerning space and human beings. This paper also proposes a method of accessing physical spaces that can affect psychological states through a conceptual substitution called "extension," with the aim of discovering the implications inherent in such extensive relationships and proposing a methodology of organizing psychological spaces based on the characteristics of that extensive connection. The means of extensively connecting psychological spaces were classified into the three categories of memory system, sensory system, and motor system, and their corresponding extensive connection characteristics called "simultaneous relativity," "non-mediated immediacy," and "purification process" were also derived. These characteristics accelerate the changes in psychological intensity and function as principles that organize psychological space.

Over the past few years, many studies have been conducted on the flow, sediment movement, pollution transportation and scour etc. However, very few attempts have been made at the hydraulic studies reflecting upon the ecological function. The objective of this study is to examine the structures of the flow and turbulence in an open circular channel and their relationship to distribution of the organisms and chironomids. Under different flow conditions, the organic matter and some chironomids were injected into the channel. Using the obtained velocity data, the flow mechanisms and the turbulent shear stresses were analyzed. Organic matters and chironomids were distributed on the region that the velocity was slower and the turbulent shear stresses were smaller. Some habitat moved even though chironomids were inhabited. This phenomenon has relationship with the flow mechanism. Some chironomids have distributed around the habitat structure of a hemisphere. The secondary flow has affected the deposition of the organic matters and the distribution of chironomids.
This paper aims to examine the fundamental relationship of what principles cause the aesthetic shapes in Korean sarangbang furniture of the $19^{th}$ century. Focusing on the Greimas' isotopic and semantic structure analysis, this research analyzed the traditional Korean men's furniture in four steps; signifier analysis, isotopic analysis, semantic structure analysis, and comprehensive interpretation. The results show that the expressive qualities of sarangbang furniture included visual symmetric aesthetics, and the hues of natural materials with dark tones. The manufacturing process emphasized the characteristics of natural materials; while diversity was respected in decorations, function as restrained form was also important with a concise image. Through these characteristics, sarangbang furniture revealed a balance, a harmony of contrastive elements, and a restrained aesthetics. Within these qualities, it was seen that aesthetic principles, such as "severance and communication," "artifice and nature," "restraint and manifestation," "toughness and softness," "filling and emptying" and "decoration and utility" were in a mutually supplementary relationship. At the basis of this aesthetic thought appears to be Confucianism, which had been the model for seonbi politics and scholarship.
