The Relationship between Structural Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness of Distribution Industry

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the maximum organizational effectiveness of compensation systems in the distribution industry. It is to identify the relationship between structural compensation and organizational effectiveness. It also aims to clarify whether distributive justice plays as a controlling variable between two variables. Research design, data and methodology: This study was conducted on distribution industry employees. The questionnaire was collected through self-subscription. A total of 209 questionnaires were collected during the month of April 2021, of which 203 were used as valid samples. Results: Structural compensation have been shown to have a positive impact on two sub-factors of organizational effectiveness. In the verification of the controlling effect of distributive justice, perceived fairness has a control effect on the relationship between extrinsic compensation and organizational effectiveness but it does not show a controlling effect on the relationship between intrinsic compensation and organizational effectiveness. Conclusions: Structural compensation has a positive effect on organizational effectiveness. The distribution industry should aware of the compensation and the perceived fairness. The fairness of distribution plays a role in identifying the recognition of compensation and organizational feasibility, identifying motivations of employees, and mediating proper strategies to enhance job satisfaction.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among TQM activities, compensation equity, and performance in hospitals. This study was designed to construct a structural equation model of TQM activities, compensation equity, and performance. Method: The subjects were 239 personnels working in four hospitals in Daegu and Gyeongpook. Data were collected using structured questionnaire from October 4, 2007 to February 4, 2008. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0 program. Result: The overall fitness of the structural equation model was evaluated. These results showed that the model was adequate. TQM activities directly influenced organizational performance and indirectly influenced organizational performance through compensation equity. Conclusion: In testing the structural equation model, the findings showed that TQM activities and compensation equity were important factors for improving organizational performance. Therefore, to improve performance, the hospital leaders must establish the strategies to facilitate TQM activities. It is also necessary to establish effective reward and performance appraisal systems to induce positive participation of personnels in hospitals.

고층건물의 멀티 기둥그룹에 대한 부등기둥축소량의 최적보정기법 (Optimal Compensation of Differential Column Shortening in Tall Buildings for Multi Column Groups)

  • 본 연구에서는 3개 이상의 기둥그룹에 대해서도 일반적으로 적용 가능한 기둥축소량의 최적보정기법을 제안하고, 이를 실제 시공된 건물에 적용하여 그 적용성을 평가하였다. 제안된 최적보정기법은 성능 및 시공상의 제약조건을 만족하면서 보정개소를 최소한으로 할 수 있는 층그룹 및 이때의 보정량을 산정하며, 상대보정뿐만 아니라 절대보정을 고려한 혼합보정도 가능하다. 최적보정에는 시뮬레이티드 어닐링(simulated annealing)이 주요 알고리즘으로 사용되었다. 제안된 기법을 실제 축소량 보정이 수행된 61층 건물에 적용한 결과, 보정량을 쉽게 산출할 수 있고 또한 실무방식보다 보정개소를 줄일 수 있어 적용성이 뛰어남을 확인하였다.

방사선사의 초음파검사 시 체감하는 직무만족도의 구조적 관계 해석 (Analysis of Structural Relationship of Job Satisfaction Levels Felt in Ultrasound Examination by Radiological Technologists)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship between job satisfaction levels felt during ultrasound examination of radiological technologists (RTs) using a structural equation model. The subjects were a total of 203 RTs currently working in medical institutions. The method was conducted as a survey study using a questionnaire consisting of a total of 29 questions consisting of demographic characteristics and job satisfaction levels that were self-efficacy, job competency, extrinsic compensation, and job satisfaction. The reliability was secured with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.6 or higher. For statistical analysis, a significant difference between the frequency analysis of demographic characteristics and the mean of the job satisfaction levels were performed by independent sample T-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Scheffe's post hoc test. The correlation analysis between variables was tested with Spearman's and Pearson's correlation coefficient. We analyzed the structural relationships between variables by structural equations. As a result, first, job competency and extrinsic compensation had a positive effect on job satisfaction on ultrasound examination of RTs. Second, the self-efficacy of ultrasound examination RTs showed a high correlation with job competency. Third, the job satisfaction levels showed in the order of job competency, job satisfaction, self-efficacy, and extrinsic compensation. In conclusion, this study are expected to be provided as data to identify factors that could improve job satisfaction during ultrasound examination of RTs by empirically analyzing the structural relationship of self-efficacy, job competency, and external compensation.

A novel grey TMD control for structures subjected to earthquakes

  • A model for calculating structure interacted mechanics is proposed. A structural interaction model and controller design based on tuned mass damping (TMD) was developed to control the induced vibration. A key point is to introduce a new analytical model to evaluate the properties of the TMD that recognizes the motion-dependent nonlinear response observed in the simulations. Aiming at the problem of increased current harmonics and low efficiency of permanent magnet synchronous motors for electric vehicles due to dead time effect, a dead time compensation method based on neural network filter and current polarity detection is proposed. Firstly, the DC components and the higher harmonic components of the motor currents are obtained by virtue of what the neural network filters and the extracted harmonic currents are adjusted to the required compensation voltages by virtue of what the neural network filters. Then, the extracted DC components are used for current polarity dead time compensation control to avert the false compensation when currents approach zero. The neural network filter method extracts the required compensation voltages from the speed component and the current polarity detection compensation method obtains the required compensation voltages by discriminating the current polarity. The combination of the two methods can more precisely compensate the dead time effect of the control system to improve the control performance. Furthermore, based on the relaxed method, the intelligent approach of stability criterion can be regulated appropriately and the artificial TMD was found to be effective in reducing cross-wind vibrations.

  • Differential shortenings of columns in a highrise building must be considered in the design process to avoid unexpected damages in structural and nonstructural elements. While research activity has been reported in the literature on the development of estimation algorithms or prediction procedures of elastic and inelastic column shortenings, no algorithms or methods for compensation of differential shortenings. In this paper a compensation method for differential column shortenings in a high-rise is formulated as an optimization problem The simulated annealing algorithm is used to find optimal solutions. The performance of the proposed method is presented by using the well known examples developed by PCA.

The Effect of Compensation and Career on Turnover Intention: Evidence from Indonesia

  • This study aims to investigate the determinants of turnover intention among company managers in Indonesia. Based on the literature, this research hypothesizes that job satisfaction is a mediator in the relationship between compensation, career and turnover intention of companies in Indonesia. Respondents as research samples are grouped into middle managers from two industries, namely, manufacturing and services. A total of 215 questionnaires were returned from middle managers. Data analysis used Structural Equation Model - Linear Structural Relationship (SEM LISREL). The research results prove that compensation and career have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Compensation, career, and job satisfaction have a negative impact on turnover intention. Compensation is known to be one of the motivating drivers of workers around the world. From this study it can be said that, if middle manager teachers are well compensated, they will be encouraged, persuaded and will have positive feelings toward their work, and this will result in staying put. It works also with career and job satisfaction. If both variables are considered carefully, intention to move tends to be low. These findings provide new insights into the field of international human resources in developing multinational companies and service businesses.

현장 적용성을 고려한 기둥축소량의 최적보정시스템 개발 (Development of Field-friendly Optimal Compensation System for Differential Column Shortening)

  • 본 연구에서는 현장 적용성을 고려한 기둥축소량의 최적보정시스템을 그래픽-사용자 인터페이스의 컴퓨터 프로그램으로 개발하였다. 구현된 시스템은 성능 및 시공상의 다양한 제약조건을 만족하면서 상대보정과 혼합보정이 모두 가능하다. 제안된 시스템에서는 기둥축소량 보정전과 보정후의 구조물 형상을 그래픽으로 확인가능하며, 각 층의 보정결과는 기둥축소량 보고서로 바로 활용 가능한 도면으로 출력된다. 제안된 시스템을 실제 축소량 보정이 수행된 61, 42, 49, 53층의 네 건물에 적용한 결과, 제약조건을 쉽게 변경하면서 축소량 보정을 수행할 수 있고, 기존의 방법으로는 해를 구하지 못하는 경우에도 손쉽게 해를 구할 수 있어 현장 적용성이 뛰어남을 확인하였다.

구조적 컴플라이언스 모델링을 이용한 구속받는 유연 매니퓰레이터의 위치/힘 제어 (Position/Force Control of Constrained Flexible Manipulators Using Structural Compliance Modeling)

  • The aim of this paper is to clarify the structural compliance of the constrained flexible manipulator and to develop the force control algorithm by using the compliance of the links. The proposed structural compliance control consists of the position control to utilize a flexible manipulator model (considering the compensation for the elastic deflection of links) and the passive force control to utilize the rigid manipulator model (without considering the compensation for the elastic deflection of links). We present the experimental results for the case when applying the only position control, and when applying the structural compliance control. Finally, a comparison between these results is presented to show the performance of our method.

Temperature Compensation Technique for Steel Sleeve Packaged FBG Strain Sensor and Its Application in Structural Monitoring

  • 피복이 없는 FBG센서는 내구성이 매우 약하기 때문에 FBG센서 주위의 피복이 없이는, 많은 변수가 존재하는 실제 자연환경에서의 정확한 데이터수집이 어렵다. Steel sleeve packaged FBG 변형률 센서는 토목공학에서 널리 사용되고 있는 센서 중 하나이다. 변형률과 온도가 동시에 측정되는 FBG센서의 도입 이후로, 변형률과 온도의 정확한 보정은 필수적인 과정이 되었다. 이 논문에서는 FBG의 변형률과 온도의 측정 원리에 기초하여 steel sleeve packaged FBG센서의 온도보정 기술을 도출하였다. 그리고 두개의 FBG센서를 이용한 콘크리트 초기재령의 건조수축 실험을 통해 온도보정의 실행 가능성을 확인하였다.
