This article reviews the art and practice of strategic management process in hospitals today, in order to help hospital administrators for managing strategic management system in their hospitals. The strategic management process model in this article is based on an integrated approach combining traditional environmental model with resource-based model of strategy. The components of the model are consisted of five steps: (1)formulating objectives, strategic assessment by external environmental analysis, internal capability analysis, TOWS analysis and marketing audit, (3)strategy choice considering context and criteria of choice, (4)program implementation through operational planning, resource allocation, and conversion, and (5)control by monitoring and evaluating hospital outputs. This article deals with many aspects of issues inherent in every step on this strategic management process.

Business environment for e-commerce companies have been rapidly changed for the last several yens and they have found out that strategic alliance as one of the important and practical means to cope with the dynamic environment. Despite the increasing number of e-commerce company's strategic alliances during last several years, there have been few studies made on strategic alliance which reflect the e-commerce company's uniqueness： dynamism, time to market, If-based business, etc. In order to reflect this uniqueness, we attempt to derive guidelines of alliance process for e-commerce companies in three aspects： 1) resource system analysis, 2) value chain analysis, and 3) If-based strategic alliance implementation and management. Finally, we propose the integrated process of strategic alliance for e-commerce companies including those proposed guidelines.

Knowledge management is an essential part for gaining competitive advantage. The knowledge management system deals with information gathering, process, and implementation for the organizational performance advantage. The study integrates knowledge management in view of an internal organizational information processing structure and external strategic issue management system. This means that the coordination between internal systematic process and external scanning mechanism is essential for organizational success.

This Study focused on the process of technology transfer for the aircraft development program by the strategic alliance. Especially, this study showed how the learning firms absorb new technology from the foreign leading company. This case study concludes that teachability, asset specificity, relation capital with partner, information sharing system in organization and knowledge base are key factors for absorbing the new technology from the technology leading partner.

The Korea Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI) has been developing planar solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and power systems for combined heat and power (CHP) units. The R&D work includes solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) materials investigation, design and fabrication of single cells and stacks, and kW class SOFC CHP system development. Anode supported cells composed of Ni-YSZ/FL/YSZ/LSCF were enlarged up to $15{\times}15\;cm^2$ and stacks were manufactured using $10{\times}10\;cm^2$ cells and metallic interconnects such as ferritic stainless steel. The first-generation system had a 37-cell stack and an autothermal reformer for use with city gas. The system showed maximum stack power of about $1.3\;kW_{e,DC}$ and was able to recover heat of $0.57{\sim}1.2\;kW_{th}$ depending on loaded current by making hot water. The second-generation system was composed of an improved 48-cell stack and a prereformer (or steam reformer). The thermal management subsystem design including heat exchangers and insulators was also improved. The second-generation system was successfully operated without any external heat source. Under self-sustainable operation conditions, the stack power was about $1.3\;kW_{e,DC}$ with hydrogen and $1.2\;kW_{e,DC}$ with city. The system also recuperated heat of about $1.1\;kW_{th}$ by making hot water. Recently KEPRI manufactured a 2kW class SOFC stack and a system by scaling up the second-generation 1kW system and will develop a 5kW class CHP system by 2010.

본 연구는 해양 수산분야의 연구개발, 교육홍보 및 대민봉사활동을 목적으로 2006년에 발족한 호남 Sea Grant 사업단의 발전에 필요한 전략계획을 수립하기 위한 것이다. 먼저, 호남 Sea Grant 사업단의 발전계획 수립목적 및 관련 사업동향을 살펴보고, 시급하게 추진해야 할 현안과제의 사업방향 및 내용에 대해서 언급한다. 다음으로 수요자, 관련자 및 관련단체와의 협의를 통한 발전전략계획의 필요성과 국 내외의 Sea Grant 사업 관련기관과의 네트웍을 체제구축을 통한 상호 발전방향에 대해 살펴볼 것이다.

This paper presents a competency-based system for supporting corporate strategic information system planning. This system is implemented in practice via a detailed three stage methodology. The three stages are defining current business, analyzing competency, and suggesting To-Be enablers. The business objectives are evaluated on competencies in terms of experts' preference information about degree of importance between competencies on them. This system provides an efficient, systematic and structured framework and helps dramatically reduce the time needed to plan strategic information system.

This paper examined whether strategic decision-making are related to its performance, using a empirical study. Variables of strategic decision-making process were procedural rationality, political behavior, and application of information technology, moderating variable was environmental unstability. The findings suggested that relations between strategic decision-making process and its performance was strongly correlated, but environmental unstability was not moderating for its performance.

Strategic alliance between corporations is essential to build a CALS system. Specially, companies cooperate one another to accomplish the shared environment in the system. During the construction of the CALS system, we can apply the concepts of ILS and SCM to develop the breadth and depth of shared environment between firms. In order to build such intended environment in the CALS system, we propose five dimensions with 30 variables to be considered. These dimensions are Information Sharing, Task Sharing, System Sharing, Parts and Facilities Sharing, and Institution Sharing. Structured interviews were peformed to measure the degree of shared environment designed in 7 CALS pilot systems in Korea. The results show that the level of the shared environment in the context of vertical relationships between firms in the CALS systems is fairly high. In contrast, the level of the sharing between competing companies in horizontal relationships is relatively low in most of the pilot systems.

이스라엘의 미사일 방어체계인 Arrow 체계는 미국과 이스라엘 간 전략적 협력관계를 통해 개발되었다. 미국 레이건 행정부의 전략방위구상(Strategic Defense Initiative, SDI) 연구에 이스라엘이 1986년에 협력함으로써 전술탄도미사일 방어체계 개발이 시작되었고, 두 차례의 획기적인 성능개량을 통해 현재 Arrow 3까지 개발되어있다. 주변국으로부터 탄도미사일 위협을 직접적으로 받고 있고, 전장의 종심이 짧은 이스라엘의 지정학적 환경에 맞도록 개발되고 지속적으로 업그레이드되고 있는 Arrow 미사일 방어체계의 개발 사례는 한반도 환경에 적합한 탄도미사일 방어체계를 구축함에 있어 모범적 사례가 될 수 있다.
