생표고의 저온 및 냉동저장시 선도유지의 최적화 (Optimum Conditions for Keeping the Fresh Quality of Shiitake(Lentinus erodes) by Low-temperature and Frozen Storage)

  • This experiment was hocused on the improvement of postharvest management of fresh shiitake to increase the marketing duration. the respiration rate of fresh shiitake at 2$0^{\circ}C$ was ranged from 395mg to 551mg CO2/kg/hr depending on the cultural condition. The rapid precooling is considered as one of the most important postharsvest management to remain shiitake quality. The optimum temperature for precooling and storage was -3$^{\circ}C$ because the occurrence of physical damage on frozen tissue at below -5$^{\circ}C$. Frozen storage at -3$^{\circ}C$ had benefits to minimize weight loss, browning induction at gill tissue and consumption of stored materials where as storage at $0^{\circ}C$ appeared not to be adequite for the extension of marking duration. Frozen shiitake was succesefully thawed when exposed to RH 40-50% at below 1$0^{\circ}C$.

Effects of Storage Duration on Physicochemical and Antioxidant Properties of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)

  • This study explored the physicochemical and nutritional changes associated with storage duration of fresh tomatoes. Fruits of the 'TY Megaton' and 'Yureka' tomato cultivars were harvested at the pink stage and stored at $12^{\circ}C$ for 20 days. During storage, firmness, weight loss, skin color (Hunter L, a, b, a / b values), soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), pH, antioxidant contents (lycopene, ascorbic acid, and total phenolics) and antioxidant activity were evaluated. Firmness was above the minimum marketable limit and fresh weight loss was below maximum acceptable weight loss after 3 weeks of storage, and no deleterious effect on antioxidant contents or activities were observed. Significant differences in SSC, TA, and pH were seen between varieties, but not between fruits stored for different durations. In both varieties, Hunter a values increased more than five-fold after 8 days of storage; this correlated with a more than four-fold accumulation of lycopene after two weeks of storage. The antioxidant activity of tomatoes was highest at the beginning of the storage period, likely because of the effective DPPH - reducing power of ascorbic acid and total phenolics. Antioxidant activity increased after 12 days of storage because of increasing lycopene content. Hence, this study indicates that pink - stage tomatoes may be stored at $12^{\circ}C$ for up to 3 weeks without affecting marketability or nutritional value.

황색종 담배에 있어서 웅성불임 $F_1$ 품종의 종자 생산에 관한 연구 I. 화분과 증량제의 배합비율이 종자 생산성에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Production of $F_1$ Hybrid Seed, Using Male Sterile Flue-cured Tobacco(Nicotiana Tabacum L.) I . Effects of the mixed rates of pollen diluent dusts on the F$_1$ hybrid seeds production.)

  • In order to improve the efficiency of F$_1$ hybrid seeds production(KF 114), some experiments were carried out in a greenhouse this year. Mother plant(MSNC567) and pollen plant(NC) were grown in some pots (30 x 30cm, WxH). The gathered pollens were mixed with celite, pollen deluent dusts and stored in refrigerator at l$0^{\circ}C$ before pollination. To establish the critical range of the mixed rate and the storage period of pollens, the change in a percent of capsule set, number of seed and seed weight per capsule, weight of 1000 seeds and germination percent of seed resulted of pollination with pollen deluent dusts were investigated. The results are as follows; Percent of capsule set showed the mixed rate 1:5 resulted in no difference and those of 1:10 and 1:20 decreased about 5 ~15% when compared with trials using pollen alone. There was no difference among duration of storage in a same mixed rate. Numbers of seed per capsule showed a significant difference among the mixed rates and among durations of storage. Numbers of seed per capsule were decreased about 55 ~ 90 % as the mixed rate increase, about 2 ~ 28 % as the duration of storage increase. Weight of seed per capsule decreased about 16 ~ 23 % as the duration increase and decreased about 3 ~ 89 % as the mixed rate increase when compared with trials using pollen alone. Weight of 1000 seeds showed non significant difference among duration of storage but were higher than trials used pollen alone as the mixed rate increase.

Re-induction of Embryogenic Tissue from the Cryopreserved Somatic Embryo in Japanese Larch (Larix leptolepis Gordon)

  • The study aimed to develop a cryopreservation method for long-term storage using mature somatic embryo of Japanese larch. In this study, desiccation treatments significantly affected re-induction rates of embryogenic tissue (ET) from dried somatic embryos. In the effect of different dehydration temperature and duration on the re-initiation ET. the highest frequency was shown when somatic embryos were dehydrated at $25^{\circ}C$ for 2 (45.5%) or 1 day (43.3%), respectively. In addition, low temperatures [$4^{\circ}C$, 2 days (44.2%) or 3 days (43.5%)] were marked higher ET initiation. After that, the initiation value was declined with dehydration duration. For comparison of different relative humidity on re-induction frequency of ET, the best re-induction (43.5%) was obtained from somatic embryos pre-dried at $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ (RH 79%). Both $Na_2HPO_4$ (RH 97%) and $Na_2CO_3$ (RH 88%) treatments were showed the similar rate, 34.6, 34.2%, respectively. However the lowest rate (19.6%) was observed in distilled water (RH 100%). In comparison of the various storage temperatures and duration of the dried somatic embryos, the highest frequency (66.9%) of re-initiation was obtained when somatic embryos were cryopreserved for one day. However, the frequency was gradually decreased as the time length of storage increased regardless of types of storage. None of ET re-initiated when stored at $4^{\circ}C$ for 1, 2 and 84 days.

Effects of Post-harvest Storage Duration and Variety on Nutrient Digestibility and Energy Content Wheat in Finishing Pigs

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of post-harvest storage duration and wheat variety on the digestibility and energy content of new season wheat fed to finishing pigs. Two wheat varieties (Shi and Zhong) were harvested in 2013 and stored in the warehouse of the Fengning Pig Experimental Base at China Agricultural University for 3, 6, 9, or 12 mo. For each storage period, 12 barrows were placed in metabolism crates and allotted to diets containing 1 of the 2 wheat varieties in a randomized complete block design. The experimental diets contained 97.34% wheat and 2.66% of a vitamin and trace mineral premix. With an extension of storage duration from 3 mo to 12 mo, the gross energy (GE) and crude protein (CP) of the wheat decreased by 2.0% and 12.01%, respectively, while the concentration of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and starch content increased by 30.26%, 19.08%, and 2.46%, respectively. Total non-starch polysaccharide, total arabinose, total xylose and total mannose contents decreased by 46.27%, 45.80%, 41.71%, and 75.66%, respectively. However, there were no significant differences in the chemical composition between the two wheat varieties with the exception of ADF which was approximately 13.37% lower in Shi. With an extension of storage duration from 3 mo to 12 mo, the digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME) content and the apparent total tract digestibility of GE, CP, dry matter, organic matter, ether extract, ADF and metabolizability of energy in wheat decreased linearly (p<0.01) by 5.74%, 7.60%, 3.75%, 3.88%, 3.50%, 2.47%, 26.22%, 27.62%, and 3.94%, respectively. But the digestibility of NDF changed quadratically (p<0.01). There was an interaction between wheat variety and storage time for CP digestibility (p<0.05), such that the CP digestibility of variety Zhong was stable during 9 mo of storage, while the CP digestibility of variety Shi decreased (p<0.05). In conclusion, the GE, DE, and ME of wheat was stable during the first 3 to 6 mo of post-harvest storage, and decreased during the following 6 to 12 mo of storage under the conditions of this study.

Effects of Provenances, Storage Temperature and Duration on Seed Germination of Bombax costatum Pellegr & Vuillet

  • Seed morphology, physiology and environmental conditions have influence on germination of any tropical seeds and their appropriate handling, processing and handling enhances seeds emergent. This study therefore investigated effects of storage durations under different temperatures on germination of Bombax costatum seeds from different provenances. Fresh 25 seeds of B. costatum in four replicates were collected from four different provenances (Aponmu, Oluwa, Ibadan and Oyo). They were surface sterilized, thoroughly washed in distilled water and stored at four different temperature regimes: 28℃, 21℃, 5℃ and -17℃. Samples were taken every 2 months for germination test for 18 months. Germination assessment was carried out daily and recorded. The experimental design was 4×4×10 factorial in 4 replicates. Data were subjected to percentages and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results showed that there were significant differences among storage temperatures, storage durations and provenances on germination percentage. Freshly collected seeds from Aponmu and Oyo had the highest mean germination of 100% followed by seeds from Ibadan (89.3%). Seeds from Oyo provenance stored 5℃ had germination of 94.0%, 88.70% and 78.7% at 2nd, 4th and 6th month respectively. Seeds from Ibadan and Oyo stored at 28℃, 21℃ recorded 0.0% starting from 8 months of storage. Germination of B. costatum seeds from the four provenances decreased with increase in storage duration at different temperatures.

저장 온도와 저장 기간에 따른 꽁치과메기의 일반 성분, 물성 및 미생물학적 변화 (Studies on the General Composition, Rheometric and Microbiological Change of Pacific Saury, Coloabis saira Kwamaegi on the Storage Temperatures and Durations)

  • Pacific saury, Cololabis saira kwamaegi, is a traditional local food of the Eastern sea area centering around Pohang. It is well-recognized as being both tasty and nutritious. Nevertheless, bacterial contamination, excessive dryness, and compositional changes have made it edible only during the winter months. Therefore, to improve its storage, this study examined the effects of storage material, type, temperature, and duration on compositional changes in kwamaegi. The studied samples were kwamaegis that had been dried naturally for 15 days. The storage materials included an A-film, a self-developed multi-film made of polyethylene, polyamide, EVOH, and polyethylene; as well as a B-film made of polyethylene, nylon, polyethylene, nylon and polyethylene. The B films were used after pressing and laminating. The storage types included one whole fish(1G), or 2 divided fish(2G), to increase eating convenience. The 2G type was the muscle portion divided vertically after discarding the jowl, skin, and internal organs. The storage temperatures were $0^{\circ}C$, $-15^{\circ}C$, and $-30^{\circ}C$, and the storage durations were 2, 4, and 6 months. Pathogenic bacteria and rheology were measured to observe general compositional changes. The whole kwamaegi showed a total cell number of $1,565{\pm}112$ CFU/100 g flesh, while the divided Kwamaegi showed significantly greater bacterial numbers at $2,031{\pm}145$ CFU/100 g flesh. Psychrophils and halophils increased significantly while coliform were not found; the number of mesophils also increased, but not significantly. There were no significant cell number variations between the A-film and B-film. At $0^{\circ}C$, both the A-and B-films resulted in cell numbers of $115{\sim}212$ CFU/100 g flesh, revealing just $7.3{\sim}10.4%$ of the initial storage levels. Overall, there were no significant differences between the storage materials. Generally, as the storage temperature and duration increased, the moisture content of the kwamaegi decreased. Also, as storage duration and temperature increased, crude protein and crude lipid contents increased; in addition, they increased proportionally as the moisture content of the fish decreased. There were no significant differences in crude ash content with respect to the storage materials, storage temperatures, or storage durations. Finally, there were no significant differences between the kwamaegi samples naturally dried for 15 days and those stored in the B-film vacuum storage for 6 months for strength, hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess, and water activity.

저장기간에 따른 배 과실의 최소가공 특성 (Minimal Processing Characteristics of Asian Pears in Relation to Storage Duration)

  • ‘신고’ 배의 저장기간에 따른 최소가공 특성을 확인하기 위하여, 원형 과실의 저장 전과 $0^{\circ}C$에서 4개월 저장 후에 슬라이스를 제조하여 1$0^{\circ}C$에서 보관하면서 호흡량, 전해질 유출량, 총페놀 함량, 갈변도, 비타민C 함량 및 총균수를 각각 조사하였다 배 슬라이스의 제조 직후 무저장 과실보다 저장 과실로 만든 슬라이스에서 전해질 유출량, 총페놀 함량 및 갈변도가 유의적으로 높았으며 비타민C 함량은 낮았다. 배 슬라이스의 보관 중에는 무저장 과실에 비해 저장과실로 제조한 슬라이스에서 호흡량이 높았으며 전해질 유출량, 갈변도 및 총균수가 보다 빠르게 증가하였고 총페놀함량은 보다 빠르게 감소하였다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 원형배의 저장기간이 최소가공성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있으며 최소가공품의 제조 및 품질관리 인자로 원형 과실의 저장기간도 고려되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

수리취의 종자저장 방법과 발아특성 (Seed Storage Method and Seed Germination Characteristics of Synurus deltoides(Ait.) Nakai)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the seed storage method and seed germination characteristics of Synurus deltoides (Ait.) Nakai, a kind of wild vegetables. Several parameters affecting seed germination, such as germination temperature, chilling duration, imbibition duration, and storage method were evaluated. The seed germination of Synurus deltoides showed the highest germination rate (GR), promptness index (PI), germination performance index (GPI), mean daily germination (MDG) at 25℃. This implies that the optimum germination temperature was 25℃. And also, Seeds stored at -4℃, after 150 days showed relatively high germination rate about 98%. Therefore, The optimum germination temperature of Synurus deltoides was 25℃ and to increase the germination rate over 98% of Synurus deltoides, cold-wet storage 20 days treatments at 4℃ were effective in the improvement of seed germination.

산림환경 변화가 토양내 수저유능력과 유출에 미치는 영향 (Effect of change in forest environment on water storage capacity in soil and streamflow)

  • 강원도 평창군 연평면과 용평면 일원에 위치한 백옥포유역과 이목정유역에서 산림의 환경변화(임상차이 및 피해목 벌채)가유출과토양내 수저유능력에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 1983∼1993년의 유출량, 유출률, 유황곡선등을 분석하였다. 또한 유출 구성성분중 총유출량, 직접유출량, 토양내 가비중, 전공극량, 조공극, 세공극, 투수성, 유출가능수량을 분석하였다. 유출을, 유출량, 유황곡선은 임상이 불량한 이목정유역이 임상이 양호한 백옥포유역보다 높게 나타났으며, 두시험유역 모두에서 전처리기간이 처리기간보다 낮게 나타났다. 또한 벌채에 의한 산림환경변화에 따라 융설촉진 현상이 처리기간에 크게 일어났으며, 융설지연 현상으로 인한 산림효과가 전처리기간에 나타났다 산림환경변화에 따른 토양의 물리적 성질중 가비중, 전공극량(조공극, 세공극), 투수성, 유출가능수량에서도 백옥포유역이 이목정유역보다 양호하였으며, 두 시험유역 모두에서 전처리기간이 처리기간보다 양호한 결과를 나타내어 산림환경 변화에 따른 수자원함양기능의 중요성을 제시하였다.
