The outer tank of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank is a longitudinally and meridianally pre-stressed concrete (PSC) wall structure. Because of the current trend of constructing larger LNG storage tanks, the pre-stressing forces required to increase wall strength must be significantly increased. Because of the increase in tank sizes and pre-stressing forces, an extreme loading scenario such as a bomb blast or an airplane crash needs to be investigated. Therefore, in this study, the blast resistance performance of LNG storage tanks was analyzed by conducting a blast simulation to investigate the safety of larger LNG storage tanks. Test data validation for a blast simulation of reinforced concrete panels was performed using a specific FEM code, LS-DYNA, prior to a full-scale blast simulation of the outer tank of a 270,000-kL LNG storage tank. Another objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and serviceability of an LNG storage tank with respect to varying amounts of explosive charge. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the design and safety evaluation of PSC LNG storage tanks.

In-situ measurement was made to evaluate chiller performance and thermal storage density of an ice thermal storage system. The system belonged to a big hotel and the measurement was conducted during late October. Owing to very small cooling load, the data logging was possible for a single thermal storage cycle. However, operation history of the chiller showed a relatively good spectrum of data for performance evaluation. COP and thermal storage density were calculated. The COP at full load was about 4.07, which was lower than $4.8\~6.4$ of new chillers. The measured storage density was about $10.9RT-h/m^3\;(=152MJ/m^3)$, which also was lower than a criterion of normal performance $(above\;13.0RT-h/m^3\;or\;181MJ/m^3)$. The study result provides technical basis for quantitative ESCO business scenario.
In this study, road transportation tests were conducted with surrogate fuel assemblies under normal conditions of transport to evaluate the vibration and shock load characteristics of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The overall test data analysis was conducted based on the measured acceleration and strain data obtained from the speed bump, lane-change, deceleration, obstacle avoidance, and circular tests. Furthermore, representative shock response spectrums and power spectral densities of each test mode were acquired. Amplification or attenuation characteristics were investigated according to the load transfer path. The load attenuated significantly as it transferred from the trailer to the cask. By contrast, the load amplified as it transferred from the cask to the surrogate SNF assembly. The fuel loading location on the cask disk assembly did not exhibit a significant influence on the strain measured from the fuel rods. The principal strain was in the vertical direction, and relatively large strain values were obtained in spans with large spacing between spacer grids. The influence of the lateral location of fuel rods was also investigated. The fuel rods located at the side exhibited relatively large strain values than those located at the center. Based on the strain data obtained from the test results, a hypothetical road transportation scenario was established. A fatigue evaluation of the SNF rod was performed based on this scenario. The evaluation results indicate that no fatigue damage occurred on the fuel rods.

The most important factors of Electronic approval system of battle management system are availability and reliability. Therefore, the electronic approval system uses a SAN(storage area network) to construct the reliable server and storage. In this paper, we analyze the security vulnerabilities of the SAN storage that stores the critical military information in the electronic approval system of battle management system. Based on the analysis, we verify the possibility of information leakage by the inside attackers through the scenario-based experiment. And we finally propose a new storage encryption algorithm on the basis of user's role that can prevent the leakage of information by the inside attackers.
This study analyzes the reduction effects of runoff and flood damage through different arrangements of stormwater storage facilities. Three scenarios based on the spatial allocation of storage capacity are used: concentrated, decentralized and combinative. The characteristics of runoff and flood damage by scenario are compared. The XP-SWMM model is used for runoff simulation by the probable rainfall of return period. The result shows that the concentrated arrangement of storage facilities is most effective to reduce the amount of peak flow and to delay the time of peak flow. Yet, while the concentrated arrangement is most effective to reduce the inundation damage, it is not effective to reduce runoff volume. The decentralized arrangement is most effective to reduce runoff volume. The combinative arrangement is effective not only the runoff reduction but also the reduction of flood damage. The result indicates that the flood mitigation strategies against heavy rainfall need to consider decentralized on-site arrangement for the reduction of runoff volume along with concentrated off-site arrangement of storage facilities.
In this study, the influence of decentralized rainwater management over the changes in evapotranspiration was analyzed. The analysis method was obtained by establishing the decentralized rainwater management plan according to different scenarios, and subsequently examined evapotranspiration in the plan. Scenario 1 refers to the analysis of the existing situation, in which was 100% of a parking lot is asphalt pavement. In Scenario 2, the pavement of the parking surface in the parking lot is replaced with lawn blocks. In Scenario 3, some asphalt pavement was removed to establish a flower-bed type infiltration system to allow rainwater to permeate. In Scenario 4, infiltration and storage of rain water would be achieved by transforming the parking surface into lawn blocks, keeping the asphalt for the parking road while establishing a vegetation strip. The amount of evapotranspiration of the target site was analyzed with a water budget analysis program (CAT) using the 2001 meteorological data for each scenario According to the analysis values of S2 and S3, it was found that evapotranspiration is critically affected by the amount of area replaced with pervious area in the total target site. An energy equivalent to 680kWh is required for 1 ton of water to evaporate. Hence, it can be seen that the active inducement of evapotranspiration in urban area makes a positive contribution not only to heat island mitigation, but also to the small-scale water circulation process in a city.
With the steady growth of mobile technology and applications, demand for more storage in mobile devices has also increased. A lightweight block-level protocol, Internet Advanced Technology Attachment (iATA), has been developed to deliver a cost-effective storage network solution for mobile devices to obtain more storage. This paper seeks to contribute to designing and implementing Load Balancing (LB), Network Monitoring (NM) and Write Replication (WR) modules to improve the protocol's scalability and data availability. LB and NM modules are invoked to collect system resources states and current network status at each associate node (server machine). A dynamic weight factor is calculated based on the collected information and sent to a referral server. The referral server is responsible to analyze and allocate the most ideal node with the least weight to serve the client. With this approach, the client can avoid connecting to a heavily loaded node that may cause delays in subsequent in-band I/O operations. Write replication is applied to the remaining nodes through a WR module by utilizing the Unison file synchronization program. A client initially connected to node IP A for write operations will have no hindrances in executing the relevant read operations at node IP B in new connections. In the worst case scenario of a node crashing, data remain recoverable from other functioning nodes. We have conducted several benchmark tests and our results are evaluated and verified in a later section.

The effect of potential future climate change on the storage rate of paddy field during storm periods (June - September) was assessed using the daily paddy water balance model. The CCCma CGCM2 data by SRES (special report on emissions scenarios) A2 and B2 scenarios of the IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate change) was used to assess the future potential climate change. The future weather data for the year 2020s, 2050s and 2080s was downscaled by Change Factor method through bias-correction using 30 years weather data. The future (2020s, 2050s and 2080s) rainfall, storage and irrigation of paddy field, runoff in paddy levee and ponding depth were analyzed for the A2 and B2 climate change scenarios based on a base year (2005). The future irrigation change of paddy field was projected to increase by decrease in rainfall. So, runoff change in paddy levee was decrease slightly, future storage change of paddy was projected to increase.
This study aimed to develop appropriate temperature management practices and provide scientific evidence to support the development of sell-by-date guidance for eggs. Washed and unwashed eggs were subjected to storage under six different scenarios, and both types of eggs were stored at temperatures up to 35℃ to evaluate the sell-by-date. Despite temperature fluctuations or continuous storage at 30℃ for 5 days, subsequent storage at 10℃ resulted in significantly higher Haugh unit and yolk index on day 15. These results indicate that refrigerating eggs from retail sales until consumption is effective for egg quality management, despite the exposure of up to 35℃ during distribution. In terms of sell-by-date evaluation, washed eggs retained class B quality for an additional 37 days beyond the recommended sell-by-date at 15℃, which is above the regulated storage temperature. However, unwashed eggs maintained class B quality for approximately 20 days at 30℃-35℃, emphasizing the need for sell-by-date guidelines for unwashed eggs. This study is the first to provide appropriate egg-handling practices based on the actual distribution environment in Korea.

The main function of an agricultural reservoir is to supply irrigation water to paddy rice fields in South Korea. Therefore, the operation of a reservoir is significantly affected by the phenology of paddy rice. For example, the early stage of irrigation season, a lot of irrigation water is required for transplanting rice. Therefore, water storage in the reservoir before irrigation season can be a key factor for sustainable irrigation, and it becomes more important under climate change situation. In this study, we analyzed the climate change impacts on reservoir storage rate at the beginning of irrigation period and simulated the reservoir storage, runoff, and irrigation water requirement under RCP scenarios. Frequency analysis was conducted with simulation results to analyze water supply probabilities of reservoirs. Water supply probability was lower in RCP 8.5 scenario than in RCP 4.5 scenario because of low precipitation in the non-irrigation period. Study reservoirs are classified into 5 groups by water supply probability. Reservoirs in group 5 showed more than 85 percentage probabilities to be filled up from half-filled condition during the non-irrigation period, whereas group 1 showed less than 5 percentages. In conclusion, reservoir capacity to catchment area ratio mainly affected water supply probability. If the ratio was high, reservoirs tended to have a low possibility to supply enough irrigation water amount.
