고유치 오차 최소화 기준에 따른 실험데이터에 의한 유한요소 모델 개선 (FE Model Improvement Using Experimental Data Under the Criterion of Eigen-Property Error Minimization)

  • In this study, a FE model tuning method using experimental modal data was suggested after examining all the published conventional methods. The idea of this method is introducing scale factors to maintain both the structural connectivity and the consistency in the corrected stiffness matrix which makes it always possible to interpret the stiffness elements with the corresponding physical configuration of the targeting structure. The scale factors are determined to minimize the objective function of eigen-properties. The proposed method was tested to determine the joint stiffness of a T shaped beam. The test results were also compared with the tuned stiffness obtained from a probed commercial package (SYSTUNE) and found that this method is very accurate and compatible.

유연제 사용에 따른 직물의 흡수성.유연성.대전성 변화에 관한 연구 (Effect of Fabric Softner on the Absorbency, Stiffness and Antistatic Properties of Fabrics.)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the changes of the fabric absorbency, stiffness and antistatic property by using a fabric softner at laundering. The samples selected in this study were cotton and polyester fabrics. The cotton fabric was treated with 1/2 times(0.035%), 1 time(0.07%), 3 times(0.21%) and 10 times(0.7%) of the commercially suggested concentration (0.07%) of the fabric softner. And polyester fabric was done at 1 time(0.07%) of that. In order to examine the effect of the fabric by using a fabric softner, the abstraction of a surface active agent and quantitative analysis was performed by using a UV/VIS Spectroscopy and the correlations among the absorbency, stiffness and antistatic property was analyzed. The results obtained from this study were as follows; 1. In the cotton fabric, fabric softner gave the degradation of absorbency, and stiffness improvement was not shown by repeated fabric softner on the cotton fabric. 2. In the polyester fabric, the absorbency increased and the stiffness in creased very slightly. Specially, it is desirable to use fabric softner on the polyester due to improvement of antistatic property.

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형 강성방정식의 정확성 향상에 관해 연구한다. 대공간 구조물은 대경간을 가볍게 만들기 위해 두께비를 얇게 만들어야 하므로, 구조설계시 구조불안정 검토가 중요하다. 쉘형 구조물의 구조불안정은 초기 조건에 매우 민감하게 반응하며, 이는 대변형을 수반하는 비선형 문제에 귀착하게 된다. 따라서 구조불안정을 정확히 알아보기 위해 비선형 강성방정식의 정확성이 향상 되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 스페이스 트러스를 해석 모델로 하며 접선 강성방정식과 비선형 강성방정식의 두 이론을 프로그램으로 작성하여 비선형 해석을 수행한다. 두 이론의 해석 결과를 비교 고찰하여 비선형 강성방정식의 정확성 및 수렴성 향상에 대해 검토 한다.

Performance analysis of vehicle suspension systems with negative stiffness

  • This work evaluates the influence of negative stiffness on the performances of various vehicle suspension systems, and proposes a re-centering negative stiffness device (NSD). The re-centering NSD consists of a passive magnetic negative stiffness spring and a positioning shaft with a re-centering function. The former produces negative stiffness control forces, and the latter prevents the amplification of static spring deflection. The numerical simulations reveal that negative stiffness can improve the ride comfort of a vehicle without affecting its road holding abilities for either passive or semi-active suspension systems. In general, the improvement degree of ride comfort increases as negative stiffness increases. For passive suspension system, negative stiffness brings in negative stiffness feature in the control forces, which is helpful for the ride comfort of a vehicle. For semi-active suspensions, negative stiffness can alleviate the impact of clipped damping in semi-active dampers, and thus the ride comfort of a vehicle can be improved.

  • A new concept of stock preparation for the increase of bending stiffness in paper and board was proposed. The 'stiff' fibers, which were mechanically not treated or treated slightly to remove fiber curls, were combined with extensively refined fibers (ERF) to produce higher stiffness papers than those where the whole fibers were refined. The combination of 'stiff' fibers and extensively refined fibers produced higher stiffness at the same tensile strength than the control furnish, in which all the fibers are refined together. In this concept, the fibers from recycled papers could be as much useful as the virgin fibers as long as they are stiff enough or they can produce highly bondable fiber fractions by extensive refining. Use of the concept in real paper mill needs considerations such as increase of refining energy, slower drainage, and added drying burden, but savings of wood fibers, utilization of more recycled fibers, and increase of physical properties may offset the negative concerns. The success of this concept implementation in mills, therefore, depends on the wood fiber market around the mills and the proper decision making for the papermakers about how to apply this concept.

  • The Spindle-]fearing System is very important unit for geometrical accuracy in machine tools. To improve effectively the weak point of spindle system, it is necessary that the contribution ratio of spindle core parts to static and dynamic stiffness is clarified. In this paper, static contribution ratio of core parts is calculated by overlapping static deformation of basic spindle design with one flexible parts. The dynamic contribution ratio for natural frequency and dynamic deformation at spindle end is obtained by calculating correlation between original and basic spindle deformation, by curve fitting with regressive method. It is proved the validity of estimation result is correct.

  • The demand for drywall is increasing as the structural type of apartment building is changing to a rigid frame structure. At present, the thickness of the gypsum board used for drywall is mostly 9.5mm and is required to be changed to 12.5mm to improve the performance of the wall. A structural safety test has been conducted in accordance with KS F 2613 to verify the effect of changing the thickness of the gypsum board to 12.5mm in terms of improvement as to stiffness. As a result of the test, the stiffness of the drywall has increased by about 19.6% and the impact resistance by about 30.4%.

  • This paper describes the development process of high stiffness body for ride and handling performance. High stiffness and light weight vehicle is a major target in the refinement of Passenger cars to meet customers' contradictable requirements between ride and handling performance and fuel economy This paper describes the analysis approach process for high stiffness body through the data level of body stiffness. According to the frequency band. we can suggest the design guideline about lg cornering static stiffness, torsional and lateral stiffness, body attachment stiffness. The ride and handling characteristic of a vehicle Is significantly affected by vibration transferred to the body through the chassis mounting points from front and rear suspension. It is known that body attachment stiffness is an important factor of ride and handling performance improvement. And high stiffness helps to improve the flexibility of bushing rate tuning between handling and road noise. It makes possible to design the good handling performance vehicle and save vehicles to be used in tests by using mother car at initial design stage. These improvements can lead to shortening the time needed to develop better vehicles.
