오존처리를 이용한 유자청의 비가열살균 (Non-Heat Sterilization of Yujacheong Using Ozone Treatment)

  • To suppress mold generation of yujacheong, Penicillium chrysogenum LB31 was cultured, and spores were harvested and put into yujacheong. Antioxidant activity, useful ingredients, mold size and incidence were investigated while storing yujacheong for 30 days, after sterilization with different methods (nontreatment, ozone gas emission, heating after ozone gas emission and heating). The results showed that the content of narirutin, naringin, hesperidin, or neohesperidin, which are functional components of yuzu, increased as the storage period increased in all the treatment units. In addition, mold generation was not observed until the 15th day in the heat treatment group after ozone gas emission. As the treatment group emitted ozone gas. molds of 34.8 and 112 mm2 in size were observed on the 30th day. These results suggested that ozone sterilization can prevent microbial contamination, further extending the shelf life of yuzacheong and maintaining a fresh state.

구강체온계의 각 소독솜 별 소독효과에 관한 실험연구 (A study on the effect of sterilization of the thermometer c three disinfectant sponges)

  • This present study was undertaken to assess the effect of sterilization of the thermometer with three sorts of disinfectant sponges-0.1 % bichloride of mercury sponge 70% alcohol sponge, 0.5% zephiran chloride sponge,- by bacterial culture methods in 10 admitted adult patients in S. Hospital, Mok Po city. The results obtained were as follows ; 1. The thermometer sterilized with 0.1 % bichloride of mercury sponge showed no growth of bacteria organism in 5 cases but showed growth of pathogenic organism in 1 case and non pathogenic organism in 4 cases. 2. The thermomerer sterilized with 70 % alcohol sponge showed no growth of bacteria organism in 8 cases but showed growth of nonpathogenic organism in 2 cases. 3. The themometer sterilized with 0.5 % zephiran chloride sponge showed no growth of bacteria organism in all 10 cases. From these results it could be concluded that 0.5 % zephiran chloride would be most effective in sterilization of thermometer.

  • Women were used as their own controls in the comparison of presterilization and poststerilization menstrual patterns. Five parameters were studied: regularity of cycle length, duration and amount of flow and incidence of dysmenorrhea and intermenstrual bleeding. Three parameters in the electrocoagulation group (regularity of cycle length and duration and amount of flow) and one parameter in the tubal ring group (duration of flow) showed significant changes after sterilization. However, by controlling for the effect of previous contraceptive methods used, no significant menstrual pattern changes following sterilization were discerned in either technique group.

향신료(香辛料)의 방사선조사(放射線照射) 살균(殺菌) (Radurization and Radicidation of Spices)

  • This review was intended to develop the sterilization method of spices by gamma irradiation and the results are summarized as follows. Microbial load of spices was different according to the kind of spices and the number was ranged from $10^{2}$-$10^{5}/g$ to $10^{7}$-$10^{8}/g$, gamma irradiation up to 4-10 kGy could decreased or sterilized to the microorganism of spices. In physicochemical properties of spices such as chemical components,essential oil and flavor, irradiated group with optimum dose was almost similar to the nonirradiated one, while fumigant treated group was remarkably deteriorated in the properties of spices compared with control, and free radicals produced by irradiation was disappeared during a few days storage. Irradiated spices should be an aptitude for good quality the storeability of processing food. Optimum dose irradiation below less than that proposed by FAO/IAEA/WHO Joint Committee and FDA was remarkably effect on the sterilization of spices and superior in wholesomeness and economic feasibiity compared with traditional methods. Irradiation might be an alternative to traditional sterilization methods of spices by fumigants such as ethylene oxide and ethylene dibromide because their treatments have been banned in U.S.A and other countries since 1982.

Costs involved in compliance with new endoscope reprocessing guidelines

  • Background/Aims: In March 2022, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) released the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/AAMI ST91:2021, their latest update on comprehensive, flexible, and semirigid endoscope reprocessing. These updated standards recommend the sterilization of high-risk endoscopes when possible and provide new recommendations for the precleaning, leak testing, manual cleaning, visual inspection, automated reprocessing, drying, storage, and transport of endoscopes. Methods: ANSI/AAMI ST91:2021 was compared with ANSI/AAMI ST91:2015 for major reprocessing differences that result in either time and/or cost increases. Time estimates were captured by explicit recommendation inclusion or taken from the literature. All the costs were estimated using publicly available resources. Results: The updated standards represent a potential 24.3-minute and 52.35 to 67.57 United States dollars increase per procedure in terms of reprocessing time and spending, respectively, not including capital investments. Capital costs per procedure were highly dependent on the procedure volume of the facility. Conclusions: The new AAMI standards recommend several major changes, such as sterilization, for facilities to reprocess and manage endoscopes between uses. As more facilities increase their reprocessing methods to reflect the updated standards, they do so at a cost and introduce several delays. As the reprocessing landscape evolves, facilities should consider their true costs and alternative solutions, such as single-use endoscopes.

근류균 접종제 개발을 위한 우수 증량제의 선발 및 생산 최적조건 (Establishment of some Conditions for the Development of Legume Inoculant)

  • Rhizobium균을 이용하여 근류균 접종제를 생산하기 위한 기초연구로 우수한 증량제(carrier material)를 선발하고, 근류균의 접종량, carrier의 숙성 및 보존온도, 멸균조건등 근류균 접종제 생산을 위한 각종 조건을 확립하기 위하여 실험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 근류균 접종제 생산을 위한 carrier material source로는 퍼라이트 및 토탄이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 2. 근류균의 접종량(inoculum size)에 따른 경시적 생존율은 접종초기 $10^4cells/g$ 이하의 균주를 접종하여도 1~2주후에는 $5{\times}10^8cells/g$로 증가하여 $10^8cells/g$ 접종구와 비슷한 균수를 나타내었다. 3. Carrier의 숙성 및 보존온도에 따른 근류균의 경시적 생존율은 특별한 보온이나 냉장시설없이 실온($20^{\circ}C$) 보존에서도 $10^9cells/g$의 높은 균수가 12주째까지 유지되었다. 4. Carrier의 멸균방법에 따른 근류균의 경시적 생존율은 가압습열멸균 처리구에서 생존율이 가장 양호하였으나 각 처리에 따른 큰 차이는 볼 수 없었고, 특히 퍼라이트의 경우에는 멸균처리없이도 12주째 까지 $10^9cells/g$ 이상의 높은 균수를 유지하였다.

  • 느타리버섯 재배시 기존의 고압살균처리는 영세한 버섯재배 농민의 시설비나 운영면에서 비용이 많이 들어 야외 발효나 저온살균에 의한 저비용 고효율의 최적배지 선발을 위한 살균방법별 시험결과를 요약하면 가. 배지 재료에서는 톱밥+면실+왕겨 (1:1:1)배지와 톱밥+면실+비트 (5:3:2)처리가 비슷한 경향이었고 나. 살균방법 처리에서는 고압살균(121$^{\circ}C$, 90분) 방법보다 저온살균(50­6$0^{\circ}C$, 7일)처리가 균사배양 및 생육특성이 양호하였으며 다. 기존의 고압살균 톱밥+면실+비트(5:3:2)처리구 174g/1.5kg 대비 저온살균 톱밥+면실+왕겨 (1:1:1) 205g/1.5kg으로 18%증수되고 톱밥+면실+비트(5:3:2) 처리구에서는 207g/1.5kg으로 19% 증수되는 경향이었으나 톱밥+면실에 왕겨를 첨가하나 비트펄프를 첨가하나 유의성이 없었다. 라. 봉지 재배시 저온살균이 고압살균대비 경영비 12% 절감과 농가소득 향상에 기여 할 것으로 기대된다

세정 및 표면살균에 따른 신선편이 치커리 제품의 품질 특성 변화 (Effect of Washing Methods and Surface Sterilization on Quality of Fresh-cut Chicory (Clchorium intybus L. var. foliosum))

  • 연구에서는 세정 및 표면살균처리 시스템을 개발 제작에 의한 세정, 표면살균처리 및 저장효과를 살펴보기 위해 치커리를 시료 로 수확후 저장기간별 품질평가를 실시하였다. 표면살균처리를 위해 오존수와 염소수를 사용한 결과 3 ppm 오존수와 염소수 100 ppm의 표면살균 처리는 미생물적 결과에서 커다란 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 두 살균수 모두 식품가공에 있어 제균력을 가지고 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 처리 조건을 신선편이 치커리에 적용해본 결과 저장 조건에 있어서는 $4^{\circ}C$에서 시료들은 관능적 평가에 있어서 9일까지는 양호한 상태를 보였으나, 이화학적 특성인 총비타민C와 총클로로필 함량을 시험해보았을 때, 영양소적 손실을 보였고, $10^{\circ}C$에 저장한 치커리의 경우 6일 이후 급격히 상품가치를 잃었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 위생적이고 안전한 최 소가공 농산물의 생산을 위하여 기계세정을 이용한 공정시간의 단축과 살균과정을 이용하여 식품 안전성의 위험이 될 수 있는 미생물의 오염을 막을 수 있고, 오존수를 이용하여 염소수 소독에 의존하고 있는 일반적인 생산과정의 중점관리로 지적되었던 사항을 개선할 수 있는 새로운 위생관리 방안으로써 이용 가치 있다고 평가된다.

고온고압증기멸균이 우황청심원에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of High Temperature High Pressure Steam Sterilization on Woohwangchungsimwon)

  • Objectives To check marker content for appropriate quality control of Woohwangchungsimwon sterilized to ensure microbiological safety and to observe antioxidant activity for any changes in efficacy. Methods To measure any effects of sterilization on the effective compounds, 8 ingredients of Woohwangchungsimwon were screened for any changes in marker content using HPLC-DAD. Using the colorimetric method on the microplate reader any changes in total phenolic compound and flavonoid levels were observed. Antioxidant activity was measured using the DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP. Results Of the ingredients of Woohwangchungsimwon, 8 were subject to quantitative analysis before and after sterilization. 21.6 mg and 1.93 mg of Glycyrrhizin was found in Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fischer pre and post sterilization, respectively. Decursin found in Angelica gigas Nakai increased from 0.16 mg to 0.29 mg after sterilization. Bilirubin found in Gallstone of Bostaurusvar. domesticus increased from 0.24 mg to 0.33 mg. Cinnamic acid found in Cinnamomum cassia Blume increased from 0.02 mg to 0.05 mg. Ginsenoside Rb1 found in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer decreased from 0.02 mg to 0.14 mg. Paeoniflorin found in Paeonia lactiflora Pallas increased from 1.05 mg to 1.13 mg. Amygdalin found in Armeniacae Amarum Semen increased from 2.68 mg to 2.83 mg. L-muscone found in Musk increased from 0.63 mg to 0.76 mg. As for total phenolic compound and total flavonoid content, there was a 1.22 and 4.15-fold increase. DPPH and ABTS increased by 20.45% and 20.69%, respectively. FRAP activity was 2.78 times more active post stabilization. Conclusions This study confirmed that high temperature high pressure steam sterilization, a method used to ensure microbiological safety of Woohwangchungsimwon, does not affect marker content; in other words, does not affect quality of the Woohwangchungsimwon. It could also be seen that total phenolic compound and flavonoid content increased after sterilization. An antioxidant activity test showed that there was significantly increased activity of antioxidants.

차아염소산나트륨 처리와 멸균법이 근관 치료용 파일의 부식에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (THE EFFECT OF NAOCL TREATMENT AND STERILIZATION PROCEDURES ON THE CORROSION OF ENDODONTIC FILES)

  • 근관 치료시 많이 사용되고 있는 $K-flex^{(R)}$ S-S 파일 (Maillefer, USA)과 $Profile^{(R)}$ Ni-Ti 파일 (Maillefer, USA), $K-3^{(R)}$ Ni-Ti파일 (SybronEndo, USA)의 부식 정도를 보기 위하여 총 360개의 20번 file을 1) 멸균소독 방법 (고압가열멸균소독, E-O gas 소독) ,2) 근관세척 액 ($5,25\%$ 차아염소산나트륨, 생리식염수) ,3) 멸균소독 횟수 (1, 5, 10회 ) 에 따라 36개 실험군으로 나누었다. 각각의 파일을 각 군별로 처리한 뒤, 세 명의 검사자가 광학 현미경 하에서 25배의 배율로 검사하여 0; 부식 없음, 1; 경도의 부식, 2; 중등도의 부식, 3; 심한 부식으로 점수화 하였다. 심한 부식을 보이는 파일의 표면은 SEM으로 관찰하였고 Kruskal-Wallis test (p < 0.05)를 이용하여 통계 분석 처리하여 차아염소산나트륨 접촉 여부와 멸균소독 방법의 차이에 의한 부식 정도를 평가하였다. 그 결과 고압가열멸균소독을 10회 시행한 파일은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보여 부식 정도가 심하였고, 1회나 5회 고압가열멸균소독을 시행한 파일과 E-O 가스로 소독한 파일들은 부식의 정도가 경미하여 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 차아염소산나트륨 접촉 여부와 제조사 혹은 파일 재료에 따른 유의성 있는 차이는 없었다
