DESIGN OF A PWR POWER CONTROLLER USING MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL OPTIMIZED BY A GENETIC ALGORITHM

  • In this study, the core dynamics of a PWR reactor is identified online by a recursive least-squares method. Based on the identified reactor model consisting of the control rod position and the core average coolant temperature, the future average coolant temperature is predicted. A model predictive control method is applied to designing an automatic controller for the thermal power control of PWR reactors. The basic concept of the model predictive control is to solve an optimization problem for a finite future at current time and to implement as the current control input only the first optimal control input among the solutions of the finite time steps. At the next time step, this procedure for solving the optimization problem is repeated. The objectives of the proposed model predictive controller are to minimize both the difference between the predicted core coolant temperature and the desired temperature, as well as minimizing the variation of the control rod positions. In addition, the objectives are subject to the maximum and minimum control rod positions as well as the maximum control rod speed. Therefore, a genetic algorithm that is appropriate for the accomplishment of multiple objectives is utilized in order to optimize the model predictive controller. A three-dimensional nuclear reactor analysis code, MASTER that was developed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) , is used to verify the proposed controller for a nuclear reactor. From the results of a numerical simulation that was carried out in order to verify the performance of the proposed controller with a $5\%/min$ ramp increase or decrease of a desired load and a $10\%$ step increase or decrease (which were design requirements), it was found that the nuclear power level controlled by the proposed controller could track the desired power level very well.

  • 수중구조물에 의한 파랑의 변형을 예측하기 위해 3차원 수치모형을 도입하여 수치모형 실험을 수행하였다. 본 수치모형은 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 유한차분법을 이용하여 계산하는 동수압 모형으로서, 난류의 해석을 위해서 상대적으로 큰 에디(eddy)만을 고려하는 SANS(Spatially Averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식의 해를 구하는 LES(large-eddy-simulation) 기반의 수치모형이다. 엇갈림 격자체계에서 유한차분법을 사용하여 지배방정식을 해석하는 모형으로서 수치기법으로 Two-step projection 기법을 사용하여 SANS 방정식을 계산하였으며, Bi-CGSTAB 기법을 이용하여 Poisson 방정식의 해를 구하고 압력장을 계산하였다. 또한, 자유수면의 추적을 위하여 2차 정확도의 VOF(volume-of-fluid) 기법을 사용하였다. 먼저 선형파를 일정 수심상에서 조파시켜 해석해와 비교한 후 수중구조물이 설치된 지형에 적용하여 파랑의 변형을 수치모의하여 수리모형 실험결과와 비교 및 분석하였다.

실시간 감시 시스템을 위한 사전 무학습 능동 특징점 모델 기반 객체 추적 (Non-Prior Training Active Feature Model-Based Object Tracking for Real-Time Surveillance Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 사전학습이 필요 없는 능동 특징점 모델(non-prior training active feature model; NPT AFM) 기반에서 광류(optical flow)를 이용한 객체추적 기술을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리듬은 비정형 객체에 대한 분석[1]에 초점을 두고 있으며, 실시간에서 NPT-AFM을 사용한 강건한 추적을 가능하게 한다. NPT-AFM 알고리듬은 관심 객체의 위치를 파악하는 과정 (localization)과 이전 프레임 정보와 현재 프레임 정보를 이용하여, 객체의 위치를 예측(prediction), 보정(correction)하는 과정으로 나눌 수 있다 위치 파악 과정에서는 움직임 분할(motion segmentation)을 수행한 후 개선된 Shi-Tomasi의 특징점 추적 알고리듬[2]을 사용 하였다. 예측 및 보정 과정에서는 광류 정보를 사용하여 특징점을 추적하고[3] 만약, 특징점이 적절히 추적 되지 않거나 추적에 실패하면 특징점들의 시간(temporal), 공간(spatial)적 정보를 이용하여 예측, 보정하게 된다. 객체의 형태 (shape)대신 특징점을 사용하였으며, 객체를 추적하는 과정에서 특징점들은 능동 특징점 모델(active feature model; AFM)을 위한 학습 집합(training sets)의 요소로 갱신된다. 실험결과, 제안한 NPT-AF% 기반 추적 알고리듬은 실시간에서 비정형 객체를 추적하는데 강건함을 보석준다.

요가 수르야 나마스카 동작의 숙련도 차이에 따른 ROM과 근활성도 비교 (Comparison of ROM and Muscle Activities According to the Skills of Surya Namaskara in Vinyasa Yoga)

  • 근간 요가열풍이 불면서 일반인들은 자신의 질환이나 신체 상태를 고려하지 않고 무리한 동작을 수행하여 심각한 부작용들을 초래한다. 따라서 본 연구는 빈야사 요가의 수르야 나마스카 동작들을 수행하는 동안 나타나는 요가의 숙련도에 따른 ROM (Range Of Motion)과 %MVIC (Maximum Voluntary Isometric Contraction)를 비교 분석함으로서 관절의 유연성 및 근활성도를 규명하여 올바른 동작에 대한 이해와 함께 수련자들의 상해를 예방하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 특히 두 집단 간의 ROM과 %MWC는 요가동작에 따라서 현저한 차이가 나타났으며 이러한 차이가 나타나는 의자자세, 막대자세 및 전사자세는 정확한 지도가 필요한 동작들이다. 향후, 동작마다 숙련자와 비숙련자가 활성화되는 근육이 다르기 때문에 비숙련자에게 근육의 과용과 오용, 그리고 유연성 등의 문제로 인한 상해를 줄이기 위해 수련자에게 맞는 수준으로 수련을 할 수 있도록 지도해야 한다.

Target Birth Intensity Estimation Using Measurement-Driven PHD Filter

  • The probability hypothesis density (PHD) filter is an effective means to track multiple targets in that it avoids explicit data associations between the measurements and targets. However, the target birth intensity as a prior is assumed to be known before tracking in a traditional target-tracking algorithm; otherwise, the performance of a conventional PHD filter will decline sharply. Aiming at this problem, a novel target birth intensity scheme and an improved measurement-driven scheme are incorporated into the PHD filter. The target birth intensity estimation scheme, composed of both PHD pre-filter technology and a target velocity extent method, is introduced to recursively estimate the target birth intensity by using the latest measurements at each time step. Second, based on the improved measurement-driven scheme, the measurement set at each time step is divided into the survival target measurement set, birth target measurement set, and clutter set, and meanwhile, the survival and birth target measurement sets are used to update the survival and birth targets, respectively. Lastly, a Gaussian mixture implementation of the PHD filter is presented under a linear Gaussian model assumption. The results of numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach can achieve a better performance in tracking systems with an unknown newborn target intensity.

Applying Least Mean Square Method to Improve Performance of PV MPPT Algorithm

  • Solar photovoltaic (PV) system shows a non-linear current (I) -voltage (V) characteristics, which depends on the surrounding environment factors, such as irradiance, temperature, and the wind. Solar PV system, with current (I) - voltage (V) and power (P) - Voltage (V) characteristics, specifies a unique operating point at where the possible maximum power point (MPP) is delivered. At the MPP, the PV array operates at maximum power efficiency. In order to continuously harvest maximum power at any point of time from solar PV modules, a good MPPT algorithms need to be employed. Currently, due to its simplicity and easy implementation, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithms are the most commonly used MPPT control method in the PV systems but it has a drawback at suddenly varying environment situations, due to constant step size. In this paper, to overcome the difficulties of the fast changing environment and suddenly changing the power of PV array due to constant step size in the P&O algorithm, least mean Square (LMS) methods is proposed together with P&O MPPT algorithm which is superior to traditional P&O MPPT. PV output power is predicted using LMS method to improve the tracking speed and deduce the possibility of misjudgment of increasing and decreasing the PV output. Simulation results shows that the proposed MPPT technique can track the MPP accurately as well as its dynamic response is very fast in response to the change of environmental parameters in comparison with the conventional P&O MPPT algorithm, and improves system performance.

지하철 인접 지상구조물 설치시 기존 지하철 안정성 확보 위한 종합관리대책 수립 연구 (Study on Establishing Comprehensive Management Measures to Ensure Stability of Existing Metro when Constructing Ground Structures Adjacent to Subway)

  • 근래 들어 도심지 구간에서 공동주택 건설과 같은 개발행위가 빈번히 이루어짐에 따라 운영 중인 기존 지하철과 인접하여 지상구조물이 시공되는 경우 지하철 구조물 및 궤도에 영향을 끼쳐 안정성 및 사용성에 문제를 발생시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 지하철 인접 지상구조물 시공시 기존 지하철의 안정성 확보를 위한 종합관리대책을 제안하였다. 기존 지하철에 대한 근접도 평가, 기존 구조물 안정성 검토, 궤도 안정성 검토, 집중관리구간 선정 및 계측계획 수립 등의 4단계 종합관리대책을 수립하여 인접시공 영향을 최소화하였다. 1단계 근접도 평가를 통해 계측 점검주기를 선정하고, 2단계 시공단계 및 지하수 영향을 고려한 3차원 수치해석을 통해 기존 지하철 및 정거장 구조물의 변위, 응력 등 안정성을 검토하고, 3단계 궤도틀림 등 궤도 안정성을 검토하여 열차운행의 안전성을 검토하며, 4단계 수치해석 결과를 바탕으로 변위 집중구간을 집중관리구간으로 선정하여 중점적인 계측관리가 수행하도록 제안하였다.

분기기 통합 관리 시스템 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Installation of Combined Turnout Management System)

  • Turnout is one of railroad track components. The turnout is used to change train routes to near other sections when keeping the train speed. There are many accidents in the section including the turnout. The number of accidents and errors is 363 for ten years in the section including the turnout and annual average is 36.3. To ensure safety of the turnout, it is necessary to install monitoring systems. By using the monitoring systems, it is able to accumulate related information, develop maintenance and take a step for accidents in advance. Hence, The number of accidents and errors is decreased in the section including the turnout. So, when new turnout is installed, it is needed to use monitoring systems. Therefore, combined turnout management system is needed in Korea. It is possible to perform efficient maintenance because real-time monitoring system by using sensors and data-base management system. In this paper, accidents in the section including domestic turnout are analyzed and foreign combined turnout management system is presented. Hence, articles for installing the combined turnout management system in Korea are proposed.

FCM 클러스터링 기반 비선형 기동표적의 외란분석 알고리즘 (External Noise Analysis Algorithm based on FCM Clustering for Nonlinear Maneuvering Target)

  • This paper presents the intelligent external noise analysis method for nonlinear maneuvering target. After recognizing maneuvering pattern of the target by the proposed method, we track the state of the target. The external noise can be divided into mere noise and acceleration using only the measurement. divided noise passes through the filtering step and acceleration is punched into dynamic model to compensate expected states. The acceleration is the most deterministic factor to the maneuvering. By dividing, approximating, and compensating the acceleration, we can reduce the tracking error effectively. We use the fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering as the method to divide external noise. FCM can separate the acceleration from the noise without criteria. It makes the criteria with the data made by measurement at every sampling time. So it can show the adaptive tracking result. The proposed method proceeds the tracking target simultaneously with the learning process. Thus it can apply to the online system. The proposed method shows the remarkable tracking result on the linear and nonlinear maneuvering. Finally, some examples are provided to show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
