The hat shaped section members, spot welded strength resisting structures are the most energy absorbing ones of automobile components during the front-end collision. Under the static axial collapse load in velocity of 10mm/min and quasi-static collapse load in velocity of 1000mm/min, the collapse characteristics of the hat shaped section and double hat shaped section member have been analyzed by axial collapse tests with respect to the variations of spot weld pitches on the flanges. In addition, the quasi-static collapse simulations have been implemented in the same condition to the experiment's using FEM package, LS-DYNA3D. The simulated results have been verified in comparison with these from the quasi-static axial collapse tests. With the computational approaches the optimal energy absorbing structures can be suggested. Simulations are so helpful that the optimized data be supplied in designing vehicles in advance.

This paper describes the study on isolated word recognition by using DHMM(Dynamic Hidden Markov Model) which has dynamic feature of spectrum as a parameter. This paper discusses speech recognition experiment basedon HMM which can evaluate not only instantaneous spectral features but also dynamic spectral features. LPC cepstrum parameters is used as a static feature and LPC cepstrum's regression coefficient is used as a dynamic feature. These two features are quantized by each VQ codebook. DHMM is modeled by receiving static vector and dynamic vector by input. In the whole experiment, as recognition experiment using DHMM shows 92.7% of recognition rate while the experiment using conventional HMM shows 88.8% of recognition rate, DHMM proved to be a useful model.

This study selected 22 male subjects to examine the maintenance period of static and ballistic stretching applied to rectus femoris, divided them into 11 static stretching group and 11 ballistic stretching group and analyzed changes in median frequency and in maximal voluntary isometric contraction before stretching and at 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, and 10 min after stretching. Median frequency showed significant differences in changes according to time and groups after the test of main effects. It was reduced after 3 min. in both static stretching and ballistic stretching groups and then increased again. Maximal voluntary isometric contraction showed significant differences in changes according to time and groups from the results of the main effect test. Static stretching group was reduced at 3 min after the experiment and then increased after that and ballistic stretching group was reduced at 5 min after the experiment and then increased again. In conclusion, changes were shown according to time after stretching and the effects of ballistic stretching were maintained a little longer than those of static stretching.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to determine whether mechanical horseback-riding training depending on velocity can improve vestibular function and static postural balance on standing in healthy adults. Methods: For evaluation of vestibular function, electrooculography (EOG) of vertical and horizontal was performed for identification of the motion of eyes. For evaluation of static postural balance, COP distance, time spent on the sharpened Romberg test with neck extension (SRNE) were measured. Measurements were performed three times before training, three weeks after training, and six weeks after training. Participants were randomly assigned to three groups: fast velocity-mechanical horse -riding training (FV-MHRT, n=12), moderate velocity-mechanical horse-riding training (MV-MHRT, n=12), and slow velocity-mechanical horse-riding training (SV-MHRT, n=12). Results: According to the result for vertical, horizontal EOG, there was significant interaction in each group in accordance with the experiment time (p<0.05). The FV-MHRT group showed a significant decrease compared with the MV- MHRT, SV-MHRT groups (p<0.05). According to the result for static postural balance, the time spent, COP distance in SRNE showed significant interaction in each group in accordance with the experiment time (p<0.05). The time spent on the SRNE showed a significant increas in FV-MHRT, SV-MHRT (p<0.05). The COP distance of SRNE showed a significant increase in MV-MHRT (p<0.05). Conclusion: The MHRT velocity activated mechanism of vestibular spinal reflex (VSR), vestibular ocular reflex (VOR), also helped to strengthen vestibular function and static postural balance. In addition, it should be applied to different velocity of MHRT according to the specific purpose.

This paper deals with experimentation on static test of linear induction motor for the propulsion system of UTM(Urban Transit Maglev). It is very important that vertical force zero effects to levitation field of maglev. Because it is continuous for air gap 11mm of levitated maglev vehicle. Then we found the slip frequency that the vertical force zero due to it is variable. Thus we had compared between simulation value and experiment value for lim by static test Jig.

As the application of robotic systems expand its scope, more research efforts are given in providing mobility to the robotic systems so that they can travel across various paths including those with formidable obstacles such as stairways or rough terrains. Legged locomotion is mainly concerned because the walking motion, like that of animal behavior, has many advantages over wheel type or track type locomotion especially in rough terrain. Walking robot, in general, having a discrete number of legs, have inherently low static stability. Static stability can be increased to a certain degree, by improving walking method, but it has many limitations such as reduced travel speed. A very promising possibility lies in the use of balancing weight, nevertheless its actual implementation is very rare. In this study, a 4-legged walking machine is developed and the static stability margin is increased with the balancing weight. In the future, this robot will be used to take an experiment on the walking in mush terrain.

The fluid static pressure has been generally measured by means of a small hole leading to a measuring instrument. In case of viscoelastic fluids, however, it has been shown experimentally that a systematic error exists in measuring the static pressure by means of the small hole becuase viscoelasitc fluids have many properties that can not be observed in Newtonian fluids. In this paper, in order to examine the mechanism of the errors in measuring the static pressure of viscoelasitc fluids, flow patterns in the vicinity of static pressure measuring hole were photographically taken and observed graphically. The experiments to take photographs of flow patterns were performed by a parallel plate channel with the steady two-dimensional shear flow of viscoelastic fluids. Results of the experiment are classified as following three regions; (1) Arched symmetrical flow pattern region. (2) Asymmetrical flow pattern region. (3) Rectilinear symmetricl flow pattern region.

In this paper, the relationship between static pressure recovery and turbulent energy was presented in case of swirling flows into a conical diffuser. The distributions of turbulent energy in a diffuser sectional area were measured by a hot wire anemometer. The following conclusion can be drawn from the experiment. Diffuser loss is constituted by a dynamic pressure loss and total pressure loss. The static pressure recovery depends strongly on the total pressure loss. The static pressure recovery depends strongly on the total pressure loss, and the turbulent energy varies inversely as the static pressure recovery coefficient.
Because of the increasing demand on the high precision and high response of a machinery, electronic control valves are widely adopted at various application fields. This paper studies on the static characteristic of a first-stage proportional pressure control valve. At first an experimental apparatus including hyd. pump variable speed inverter, pressure and data aquisition system was setted up with the experimental apparatus, various tests such as P-Q-W test, hyd, pump, dynamic, static, frequency response test of the proportional valve was carride out and the results are discussed.

Various supplementary authentication methods are used to supplement user authentication and authorization provided by existing password verification online1. In recent years, authentication and authorization methods using user attribute information have been studied and utilized in various services. User attribute information can be divided into static information and dynamic information. The existing methods focus on research to identify users using dynamic information or to generate challenge questions for user reauthentication. Static information such as a user's home address, school, company, etc. is associated with dynamic information such as location information. We propose a method to verify user attribute information by using the association between two attribute information. For this purpose, the static information of the user is verified by using the user's location record which is dynamic information. The experiment of this paper collects the dynamic information of the actual user and extracts the static information to verify the user attributes. And we implemented the user attribute information authentication system using the proposal verification method and evaluated the utility based on applicability, convenience, and security.
