This study is surveyed for understanding attitude toward make-up and purchasing behavior of cosmetics of preteen generation, elementary school students among 10 to 12 using a method of questionnaire. It helps concerned traders comprehend purchasing characteristics of preteen and map out a strategy for marketing of preteen. And it used research material being able to understand socio-psychological characteristics and attitude toward make-up and purchasing behavior of cosmetics of preteen generation. For the survey, a method of questionnaire was used. The questionnaire consisted of 4 questions for socio-psychological characteristics, 5 for appearance, 8 for attitude toward make-up and 6 for cosmetic purchase behavior and 3 for demographic factors. 458 girl students among 4, 5 and 6th graders at elementary schools in Seoul were selected on a random basis. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation. F-test, Duncanis post test and crosstab analysis were also applied. 1. The level of interest of pre-teen generations was found normal. 2. The most popular destinations for buying cosmetics were dedicated cosmetics shops and department stores. 3. Satisfaction and interest of appearance and make-up. 4. Attitude toward make-up and behavior of purchase cosmetics as grades.
It is a universal phenomenon for people to establish ideal images of man according to a specific time, society and race. Thus, people have invested endless endeavor to reach the standard of ideal image. Especially, they made efforts to embody the ideal image of man as a perfect human image using appearance feature like a human body and clothing. Shi jing(詩經) is considered as a very valuable source book which reveals the life style, customs, thinking, ideas, and emotion of people of that period. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ideal image of man and woman which ancient Chinese pursued, focusing Shi jing(詩經). The results are as following. The ideal image of man is nice, handsome, dignified, generous and gentle. Besides, he should have adequate sense of humor, tall height. clear eye, broad forehead, moderate and upright behavior, outstanding horsemanship and marksmanship and braveness. Meanwhile, the ideal image of woman was described as gentle, decent, and graceful. Also, she should have tall height, light complexion, pretty hand, long neck, broad forehead, clear eyes, and charming black hair. The ideal beauty of woman included nobility and elegant personality in addition to the good physical appearance.
Heavy metal ingredients of eyeliner product could cause side effect ranging from simple irritation, keratitis, corneal epithelium inflammation, eyelid dermatitis and dry eye symptoms have been reported. This study was conducted in order to prepare fundamental data for acceptable quality level heavy metal ingredients in the domestic and foreign cosmetic brand eyeliner products and to assess theirs the heavy metal concentrations. We measured the concentration of 5 heavy metals in 10 eyeliner products using ICP/MS-LC. According to the results, the average metal concentrations were as follows.; In case of domestic eyeliner products, 289.4 ppm for aluminium(Al), 304 ppm for manganese(Mn), 44 ppm for nickel(Ni), 0.58 ppm for arsenic(As) and 0.35 ppm for lead(Pb). In case of Foreign eyeliner products, 11337.8 ppm for aluminium(Al), 1678.8 ppm for manganese(Mn), 74.2 ppm for nickel(Ni), 1 ppm for arsenic(As) and 0.8 ppm for lead(Pb). Foreign products contained higher amounts of the two elements(Pb, As) compared to domestic ones. Also, greater concentrations of arsenic(As) were detected from waterproof products than non-waterproof ones. In conclusion, for safety reasons we suggested the amounts of heavy metals from the domestic and foreign eyeliner products. This finding will be helpful to provide the fundamental data which is standard of toxicological heavy metals acceptable on eyeliner products.
The purpose of this study was to identify the hair management behavior and satisfaction of hair care products of women. A self-administered questionnaire developed by researchers was used. The subjects were 500 women who were residing in Chonbuk province from Aug. to Sep. 2002. Frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations were calculated. And One-way ANOVA and t-test were done. The results were as follows : 1. Most women were satisfied with the condition, gloss, and thickness of their hair, but unsatisfied with their hair color. As they were getting older, their satisfaction were lowered about their hair condition and gloss. 2. Most women went to beauty shops once or twice a month to have their hair permanent waved or cut. and some for dyeing or dry Few women went to beauty shop for make-up and peticures. 3. Women did frequent hair management behaviors such as cleansing, style, and providing nutrition, but caring dandruff and preventing alopecia were relatively less. Older or married women did more frequent hair management behaviors such as caring dandruff, preventing alopecia, dyeing, styling, and providing nutrition. Women used cleansing products to manage their hair, and styling products and nutrients to provide their hair with nutrition. 4. Specially price and efficiency satisfaction of dandruff care products, alopecia preventing products, dyeing products were very low.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of body type(thin, standard, fat), necktie width(narrow, medium, wide), gender(man, woman) on image formation. Sets of stimulus and response scales(7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 9 color pictures manipulated with the combination of necktie-width and body type using computer simulation. The subjects were 116 male undergraduates and 99 female undergraduates living in Gyeongsangnam-do. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components, young-activity, attractiveness-gracefulness, stability, and boldness. In the young-activity, attractiveness-gracefulness and stability, body type and necktie-width showed independent effect. In the boldness, body type showed independent effect. Significant interaction effects of body type and necktie-width on young-activity, attractiveness-gracefulness and stability were found. For young-activity image, necktie of narrow width were effective. For attractiveness-gracefulness image, body type of standard were effective. For stability image, body type of standard and body type of thin on necktie of narrow and medium width were effective. The male fashion image can be perceived differently according to combination of the clues used in body type and necktie-width. Therefore, when the male fashion to create images that will have to consider the body type and necktie width.

This study has analyzed females' motives and psychological experiences related to appearance-enhancement seeking behavior(weight control practice and cosmetic surgery). In this study, in-depth interviews were carried out to 11 females who had experienced weight control practices and cosmetic surgery in June 2001. There is social standard in ideal body image. One perceive a physical idea and own body through society(mass media, reference group), others and clothing, and recognize the ideal body and internalize the social standard as own worth. The discrepancies between ideal body image internalized as standards of own worth and real body image became a setup for body dissatisfaction. Increasing in body dissatisfaction, rejection of own body grow, furthermore body is perceived with distortion. In order to remove a negative body image and to reach ideal body image, appearance-enhancement seeking behavior such as weight control and cosmetic surgery is made. By appearance enhancing, one come to closer to ideal image of which one pursuit oneself. Therefore body satisfaction feeling increase, self·esteem rise, manner of life and character change to with affirmation. Otherwise, strengthening of appearance-concern and of appearance enhancement seeking desire has the possibility of developing into bulimia and cosmetic surgery addiction. Also, the standard of beauty in appearance rise by degrees, and that produces motives of appearance-enhancement seeking behavior.

A new standard rose cultivar "Snow Day" was bred from the cross between pink standard cultivar "Saphia" and pink standard cultivar "Bridal Beauty" at the National Institute of Horticulture & Herbal Science. The cross was made in 2003 and "Snow Day" was finally selected in 2008 after evaluating characteristics for three years from 2006 to 2008. A white standard cultivar, "Snow Day" grows vigorously and resistant to powder mildew. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $152stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 81.8 cm in length of cut flower, 11.3 cm in flower diameter, 29.2 in petal number, and 13.7 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference for this cultivar is relatively higher than that for the control cultivar, "Tineke".

The purpose of this study is to provide the improvement idea for an school uniform styling that better satisfies female high school students' changing demands, through evaluating images differences according to design variation in school uniforms. This study was carried out with a between-subject design by using the stimulant materials of school uniform design and image assessment scale. The stimulant materials used for this study were 27 designs with blazer/skirt ensemble and 21 designs with vest/skirt ensemble. The survey materials were collected through a questionnaire from a total of 192 female high school students living in Gyeongsangnam-do. As a result of analyses on a image of blazer/skirt ensembles, 4 factors were extracted such as neatness, uniqueness, activeness, and attractiveness. Blazer was the only variables that exerted significant effects on neatness, uniqueness, and attractiveness. As a result of analyses on a image of vest/skirt ensembles, 4 factors were extracted such as attractiveness, neatness, uniqueness, and activeness. Skirt was the only variables that exerted significant effects on attractiveness, neatness, and uniqueness. Neat image was perceived to be high in ensembles of standard blazer/standard collar/horizontal-seam skirt, standard vest/skirt with horizontal color combination, and buttons-down vest/horizontal-seam skirt. Unique image was perceived to be high in ensembles of blazer with bindings/standard collar/solid skirt, and vest with pockets/skirt with vertical bindings. Also, active image was perceived to be high in ensembles of vest with pockets/skirt with vertical bindings, and buttons-down vest/skirt with vertical bindings. Attractive image was perceived to be high in ensembles of blazer with bindings/peaked lapel/skirt with vertical bindings, and standard vest/horizontal-seam skirt. In conclusion, this study reveals that different items and pieces of school uniforms can be combined in many different ways to create quite diverse looks. Thus, this study provides important basic data for research on teenagers' fashion and clothing.
The intention of the research is to look into the form reflecting the spiritual image due to Oriental aesthetic from a realistic point of view. In this regard, I will pay attention to examining the process from figurative perspectives, in which painting image by subject acquires the beauty of form. Of the main subjection this paper, figure is an image itself appearing in painting. At this point, I will attempt to show how the meaning and value of image have been interpreted and judged on the aesthetic standard in Oriental painting in particular. For this process, I generalize the conception of the image as 'figure' and through this I will reconsider the standard of understanding and the value of perception regarding painting images on the method which are more applicable to the expressions of Oriental painting. The reason why I try to find out the true nature of images in Oriental painting from a figurative viewpoint is to convert a conventional sense of value which recognizes the images of Oriental painting only as results of idealism, into more practical field. If the true nature of Oriental painting is fixed and restricted to natures of idealism, any productive development and any changes in form for future couldn't be expected at all. In fact, what the ideological and aesthetic values of art suggest is clearly a proof of real art form. However, it is not a hard thing to prospect that only a superficial idealism will be ceaselessly produced, while the practical study about aesthetic values, meaningful results of painting expressions, is totally ignored, if ideology itself is used as criteria to judge the identity of it or if only the idealistic aesthetic values are emphasized while any clue to show a real existence of oriental paintings is not certain. Actually, nobody can deny the fact that interests about real natures regarding art expressions have been relatively ignored while armed with mental ideology for esthetic view of oriental painting in traditionalism Therefore, it is clear that 'spiritual status' itself can generate any form. Traditionally, in the Orient, the standard of judging a real value of things, which put a focus on a spiritual view of value rather than on a materialistic view of it, has been vaguely positioned the identity of images in painting As a result, the aesthetic convention has finally committed to an error that for images of oriental painting, ideological criteria like so called spiritualism are applied as a judging way, and esthetic meanings and values of real painting are considered as strategic results and spiritual intentions.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between eating disorder, self-esteem and depression in college women. Method: Participants were 282 college women. Data were collected between Nov. 1st and 30th, 2003, and provide basic data on eating disorder levels in college women and basic data for health control programs. The instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 8 items on general characteristics and weight control, 24 on eating disorders, 10 on self-esteem and 10 on depression. Analysis of the data was done using numbers, percentages, means and standard deviations, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficients. SPSS WIN 10.0 was used in data analysis. Result: The greatest difference for eating disorders was between the group with normal body weight and the group with low body weight (t=-6.94, p=.000). There was a high positive correlation between Body Mass Index and eating disorder (r=.383, p<.01), between eating disorder and depression (r=.161, p<.01). There was a high negative correlation between eating disorder and self-esteem (r=-.196, p<.01), and between self-esteem and depression (r=-.537, p<.01). Conclusion: These results indicate that college women need more education and counseling on dietary concerns. Also, systematic efforts to establish a more health conscious social standard for beauty should be taken. Further empirical and experimental studies are required to investigate factors influencing attitudes towards eating held by college women and to determine variables which affect various specific dimensions of these attitudes.
