  • Since 11 September 2001, the awareness of terrorists' actions has clearly risen. The potential threat of terrorists using containers poses a large risk to our economies and to our societies. In order to protect cargo from damage and terrorist threats, business and government turn to RFID and IC tags, and tradition container is replaced by IC smart container. In this study, presented application of IC tag and future tasks to Container transport by sea in viewpoint of security strengthening. First, realization and international SCM realization structural order that cover container supply chain whole of international standardization and association between industry are certainly needed. Second, it may have to try in technical development for IC tag Ratio that can read elevation moment develop suitable IC tag or reader in International Standard. Third, Need to establish concrete use policy as soon as possible in national dimension at the same time effort for international standard normalization of frequency. Finally, it shows to uses jointly with electron sealing and must solve problem about usable plan and information leak.

A Basic Study for the Performance Evaluation of a Raman LiDAR Detector for Detecting Hydrogen Gas (수소 가스 검출용 라만 라이다 측정기의 성능 평가를 위한 기초 연구)

  • Hydrogen gas is light and diffuses very quickly. Therefore, when a leakage accident occurs, the damage is great, so a technology that can quickly measure the leakage in the air at a long distance is needed. In order to develop hydrogen gas leaked in the atmosphere in a non-contact manner, an experiment was performed to measure hydrogen gas using a lidar technology using the Raman effect. Hydrogen Raman signals were detected using a UV LED light source, which is a Raman light source, and a spectrometer in the ultraviolet region including an optical filter in the 400-430 nm band. To develop this, a Raman lidar optical structure was designed to measure the hydrogen Raman signal at a certain distance, and the hydrogen Raman spectrum was confirmed using a standard gas to evaluate the performance of this optical structure. The linearity was found to be 0.99 using hydrogen standard gas (10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 ppm). Accordingly, a Raman lidar capable of measuring hydrogen gas rapidly diffusing in the air in an open state was developed to improve the limitations of existing hydrogen sensors.

  • In this study, the relationship between natural gas (NG) data and gas-related environmental elements was performed using machine learning algorithms to predict the level of gas leakage risk without directly measuring gas leakage data. The study was based on open data provided by the server using the IoT-based remote control Picarro gas sensor specification. The naturel gas leaks into the air, it is a big problem for air pollution, environment and the health. The proposed method is multivariate outlier removing method based Random Forest (RF) classification for predicting risk of NG leak. After, unsupervised k-means clustering, the experimental dataset has done imbalanced data. Therefore, we focusing our proposed models can predict medium and high risk so best. In this case, we compared the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, accuracy, area under the ROC curve (AUC), and mean standard error (MSE) for each classification model. As a result of our experiments, the evaluation measurements include accuracy, area under the ROC curve (AUC), and MSE; 99.71%, 99.57%, and 0.0016 for MOL_RF respectively.

Effects of acute normovolemic hemodilution on healing of gastric anastomosis in rats

  • Purpose: Acute normovolemic hemodilution (ANH) is an autologous transfusion method, using blood collected during surgery, to reduce the need for allogeneic blood transfusion. ANH is controversial because it may lead to various complications. Among the possible complications, anastomotic leakage is one that would have a significant effect on the operation outcome. However, the relationship between ANH and anastomotic site healing requires additional research. Therefore, we conducted this prospective study of ANH, comparing it with standard intraoperative management, undergoing gastric anastomosis in rats. Methods: Sixteen Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to three groups: group A, surgery with ANH; group N, surgery with standard intraoperative management; and group C, sham surgery with standard intraoperative management. ANH was performed in group A animals by, removing 5.8-6.6 mL of blood and replacing it with 3 times as much crystalloid. All rats were enthanized on postoperative day 6, and histopathologic analyses were performed. Results: The mean hematocrit values, after hemodilution were 22.0% (range, 18.0%-29.0%), group A; 33.0% (29.0%-35.0%), group N; and 32.5% (29.0%-34.0%), group C. There were significant differences between groups A and N (P = 0.019, P = 0.009, P = 0.004, P = 0.039, and P = 0.027), and between groups N and C (P = 0.006, P = 0.027, P = 0.04, P = 0.008, and P = 0.009) with respect to inflammatory cell numbers, neovascularization, fibroblast numbers, edema and necrosis, respectively; there were no differences between groups A and N. Conclusion: In rat model, anastomotic complications did not increase in the ANH group, compared with the standard intraoperative management group.

Durability of the Low Profile Ionescu-Shiley Valve in Aortic Position (이오네스큐 단고형 대동맥판의 내구성)

  • The consecutive 35 patients underwent isolated aortic valve replacement with the low-profile model of the Ionescu-Shiley pericardial xenograft valve from 1984 to 1991. Operative mortality was 2.9%, and early survivors were followed up for a total 136.1 patient-years[Mean$\pm$SD, 4.00$\pm$2.14 years]. The linearized late mortality was 2.204% /pt-yr. Three patients required rereplacement of the valve with overall valve failure rate of 2.204% /pt-yr: two for endocarditis and one for paravalvular leak. There was no case of primary tissue failure. The linearized annual rates of complication were: thromboembolism 0.735% /pt-yr, bleeding 0.735%pt-yr, and endocarditis 2.204% /pt-yr. The actuarial survival at 8 years of follow-up was 90.4$\pm$5.3%, and the probabilities of freedom from thromboembolism and from rereplacement were 95.6$\pm$4.4% and 88.2$\pm$6.7% at 8 years respectively. Although the low profile Ionescu-Shiley pericardial valve provided favorable clinical performance comparable with the standard model up to 8 years, it needs prolonged follow-up to assess the pattern of its durability.

Security of Constant Weight Countermeasures

  • This paper investigates the security of constant weight countermeasures, which aim to produce indistinguishable leakage from sensitive variables and intermediate variables, assuming a constant Hamming distance and/or Hamming weight leakages. To investigate the security of recent countermeasures, contrary to many related studies, we assume that the coefficients of the simulated leakage models follow a normal distribution so that we may construct a model with approximately realistic leakages. First, using our simulated leakage model, we demonstrate security holes in these previous countermeasures. Subsequently, in contrast to the hypotheses presented in previous studies, we confirm the resistance of these countermeasures to a standard correlation power analysis (CPA). However, these countermeasures can allow a bitwise CPA to leak a sensitive variable with only a few thousand traces.

  • Interface control activities during the nuclear power plant (NPP) construction and operation have been reviewed for enhancing the safety of NPP. The primary focus of the study is given on analysis of lessons learned from the recent significant events of Korean Standard Nuclear Power plant (KSNP), such as a series of break-off of thermal sleeves at YGN 5 & 6 and radioactivity leak at YGN 5, in respect of interface control. Based on the results of the analysis, this study recommends measures for the improvement of interface control among utility and technical supporting organizations (TSO), and suggests new regulatory systems, such as reporting of safety significant non-conformances, to effectively verify the adequacy of interface control activities during construction and operation of NPPs.

  • We report results of Extended Leak-Off Test (XLOT) conducted in a large diameter borehole, which is drilled for installation of deep borehole geophysical monitoring system to monitor micro-earthquakes and fault behavior of major fault zones in the southeastern Korean Peninsula. The borehole was planned to secure a final diameter of 200 mm (or more) at a depth of ~1 km, with 12" diameter wellbore to intermediate depths, and 7-7/8" (~200 mm) to the bottom hole depth. We drilled first the 12" borehole to approximately 504 m deep and installed American Petroleum Institute standard 8-5/8" casing, then annulus between the casing and bedrock was fully cemented. XLOT was carried out for several purposes such as confirming casing and cementing integrity, measuring rock stress states. To that end, we drilled additional 4 m long open hole interval to directly inject water and pressurize into the rock mass using the upper API casings. During the XLOT, flow rates and interval pressures were recorded in real time. Based on the logs we tried to analyze hydraulic conductivity of the test interval.

  • In this paper, a measuring circuit is designed through analyzing manufacture specification of the sensor based on MOS. And the best input-output polynomial are induced that really gas sensors are used in gas safety management industrial fields. Response characteristics of a MOS gas sensor is analysed by through sensor's output voltages are measured after standard gases with six kinds of concentrations are manufactured and are injected to the sensor. A lookup table is created by relations of sensor's output voltages by injecting gases with other concentrations. Because data of the formed lookup table are equal interval, a polynomial can be induced of method of approximation function. So the 5th polynomial of input-output for a sensor is defined, coefficients are calculated by using least squares method, and the 5th polynomial is completed for representing characteristics of the sensor. If the proposed polynomial is applied to gas leak detectors, an inverse transformation of polynomial and programing of array codes are recreated. In this research, polynomial is implemented with array types that intervals of values of a lookup table are one-fifth sampled and interpolated. The performance of proposed 5th calibration equation is verified that errors are reduced than a linear expression when tests are performed by measurement of concentrations against injection of standard gases.

A Study on the Evaluation of Fracture Resistance Characteristics of Large Pipe by using the Curved CT Specimen (대형배관의 Curved CT 시편을 이용한 파괴저항특성평가에 관한 연구)

  • The LBB (Leak Before Break) concept is based on evaluating the fracture toughness. NUREG 1061, Vol.3 announced that the specimen for evaluating fracture resistance needs to have same thickness or thicker than pipe. Therefore, it is difficult to collect specimen from pipe which has same thickness as a pipe. So, ASTM standard suggested the use of standard specimen with 1 inch thickness. However, it has been known that an application of LBB by test results of standard specimen is conservative compare with that by real pipe. In this study, to supplement such conservatism, the evaluation of fracture resistance characteristics was performed with curved CT specimen, which has same thickness and curvature as a pipe. In addition, fracture resistance characteristics of curved CT specimen were compared with those of CT specimen. For this, shape factor F, hpl and g were obtained from FEM analysis using the limit load method.
