Control of Linear Compressor System Using Virtual AC Capacitor

  • Recently, linear compressors of cooling systems such as refrigerators, which have a free piston driven by a linear motor, have attracted much attention because of their high efficiency. For structural reasons, linear compressors applied in refrigerators should use an AC capacitor to ensure stable control. However, AC capacitors are expensive and bulky. In this paper, we propose a new method to realize stable control without a real AC capacitor by implementing a virtual AC capacitor with software. To realize a virtual AC capacitor, a pure integral is calculated. Nonetheless, if an offset current exists, the calculation may diverge to infinity. To solve this problem, a high-pass filter is applied and the compensation for the phase angle and magnitude are realized with a new method. Finally, a virtual AC capacitor enables variable frequency operations. Hence, in case of a lack of voltage, we can compensate by running the linear compressor in high-frequency operations. To improve efficiency, we may optimize the operation frequency. The validity of a virtual AC capacitor has been verified through simulations and experimental results.

  • In general, the forklift driven by DC motor drive system is used in the industrial field. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by current control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the forklift is demanded the robust drive mode. Some cases of the mode, there aretrouble in torque control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning about slope angle and output speed, various control method is studied for stability of speed control. In this paper, I apply current control for the self-tuning using the fuzzy controller to obtain robust, stable speed control and use stable, high efficiency control using DSP as main controller for high speed processor, embody dynamic characteristic of control compared the PI controller to the fuzzy controller.

  • This paper aims to derive a mathematical model of the dynamics of handling tasks in field robot which stable grasping and manipulates a rigid object with some dexterity. Firstly, a set of differential equation describing dynamics of the manipulators and object together with geometric constraint of tight area-contacts is formulated by Lagrange equation. Secondly, problems of controlling both the internal force and the rotation angle of the grasped object under the constraints of area-contacts of tight area-contacts are discussed. The effect of geometric constraints of area-contacts on motion of the overall system is analyzed and a method of computer simulation for overall system of differential-algebraic equations is presented. Thirdly, simulation results are shown and the effects of geometric constraints of area-contact is discussed.

  • In this paper, a self-tunning fuzzy inference technique for stabilization of the inverted pendulum system is proposed. The facility of this self-tunning fuzzy controller which has swing-up control mode and a stabilization one, moves a pendulum in an initial natural stable equilibrium point and a cart in arbitrary position, to an unstable equilibrium point and a center of rail. Specially, the virtual equilibrium point(${\phi}_{VEq}$) which describes functionally considers the interactive dynamics between a position of cart and a angle of inverted pendulum is introduced. And comparing with the convention optimal controller, the proposed self-tunning fuzzy inference structure made substantially the inverted pendulum system robust and stable.

스마트 무인기 TR-E2 형상 풍동시험 결과 (Wind Tunnel Test of Smart Un-manned Aerial Vehicle(SUAV) for TR-E2 Configuration)

  • TR-E2 configuration designed by Bell Textron was tested in KARI 1-m wind tunnel. To explore aerodynamic characteristics for the given configuration, a $12\%$ scaled model was fabricated and tested. Wind tunnel test for TR-E2 had been performed by changing the incidence angles of wing and deflection angles of control surfaces. Test result showed that the lower wing incidence angle has more favorable lift to drag ratio compared with original design. Longitudinal and directional characteristics of TR-E2 were found to be stable for the pitch and yaw motions. However, the lateral stability of TR-E2 is not stable for certain control surface deflection.

  • To improve the aerodynamic effciency of TR-E2, a new configuration so called TR-E2Sl was introduced. TR-2251 is composed of different wing airfoil section and T-tail shape compared with TR-E2. Wind tunnel test for TR-EBS1 had been performed by changing the incidence angles of wing and deflection angles of control surfaces such as elevator and rudder. Also the on/off effect of ventral fin attached underneath of AFT fuselage was tested. Test result showed that variations of wing incidence angle did not cause any severe differences in aerodynamic characteristics. Longitudinal and directional characteristics of TR-E2S1 show stable for the pitch and yaw motions. However, the lateral stability of TR-E2S1 is not stable for a certain control surface deflection.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy controller for stabilization of the inverted pendulum system is propose.   • The micro laser module was designed and prepared to deliver the light to the HAMR head. It consists of laser diode, photo diode and actuator to realize stable light delivery even though the head is fluctuated during the disk rotation. The optical evaluation was carried out with the actual distance between the light source and HAMR head with a range of reflectivity and it was found that the incident angle could be controlled within ${\pm}0.125^{\circ}$ to maintain same intensity into the HAMR head. It was also confirmed that the designed micro laser module is thermally stable without any severe effect on the magnetic head.

  • 암석의 파괴인성 측정법으로서 최근에 연구되고 있는 Brazilian 파괴인성 시험을 PFC code를 이용하여 수치해석적으로 시뮬레이션하였다. 이로부터 가압면 형태, 시험편과 모델링 입자의 크기 관계, 가압면 각도 범위, 하중속도 등의 영향 변수에 대한 분석 및 적정 기준에 대해 검 토하였다. 균등한 하중 전달을 위해 가압면이 평면인 Brazilian 시험편을 도입하였는데, 시험편 중앙에서 초기 인장균열을 생성하고 파괴인성 산정에 필요한 안정한 인장균열 진전 시점의 임계하중이 나타나는 하중-변위 곡선을 얻을 수 있는 가압면 각도는 $20^{\circ}C$ -$40^{\circ}C$ 범위로 나타났다. 가압면 각도가 $20^{\circ}C$ 인 경우에, 디스크 시험편의 구성입자 반경이 1 mm 이하이고 하중속도가 0.01 mm/s 이하인 조건에서는 거의 일정한 파괴인성값을 얻을 수가 있었다. 가압면 각도가 $20^{\circ}C$이상이고 하중속도가 0.01 mm/s 이하는 파괴인성 측정에서 중요한 기본 조건인 시험편 중 에서의 인장균열 생성 및 이 인장균열의 안정적인 진전 제어를 위한 조건인 것으로 볼 수가 있다.
