  • Optimum analytical conditions for cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave (SW) stripping voltammetry were determined using mercury-mixed carbon nanotube paste electrode (PE). The results approached the microgram working ranges of SW: 10.0-80.0 $ugL^{-1}$ and CV: 100-700 $ugL^{-1}$ Cd (II); working conditions of 300-Hz frequency, 100 mV amplitude, 1.6 V accumulation potential, 400 sec accumulation time, and 40 mV increment potential. First, analysis was performed through direct assay of cadmium ions deep into the fishs brain core and plant tissue in real time with a preconcentration time of 400 sec. The relative standard deviation of 10.0 $mgL^{-1}$ Cd (II) observed was 0.064 (n = 12) at optimum conditions. The low detection limit (S/N) was set at 0.6 $ugL^{-1}$ ($5.33{\times}10^{-9}$ M). The methods can be used in direct analysis in vivo or in real-time monitoring of plant tissue.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the empowerment structural model based on Kanter's work empowerment theory. Method: A predictive, nonexperimental design was used in a sample of 279 nurses from 3 university affiliated hospitals. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis. Results: The results showed that the overall fitness of the hypothethical model to the data was good(chi-square=.7751, df=4, p=.942, GFI=.999, AGFI=.996, RMSEA=.000). Both formal power and informal power directly influenced on nurses' perceived empowerment level and empowerment directly influenced on nurses' organizational commitment and indirectly influenced on nurses' intent to stay. Conclusion: The results imply that hospital and nurse managers should provide the empowering working condition for nurses to be stayed in hospitals.

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the relationship between the type of gender role identity and home environmental variables. Method: This study used a descriptive survey design and convenience sampling. Data were collected through self report questionnaires from 1,497 female high school students in Seoul. The data were analyzed by the SPSS 10.0 program, which included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square test, ANOVA, and Duncan test. Results: The androgyny gender role identity was most common (33.9%). The type of gender role identity had a significant correlation with home environmental variables (economic status, relationship with parents, father's education level, mother's education level. noninterference, reasonable guidance, affection, overprotection, achievement, active involvement, limit setting). Conclusion: It is necessary to provide parent education programs to help female adolescents develop gender role identity toward androgyny.

  • This study presents a structural health monitoring (SHM) method for bolted connections by using multi-channel wireless impedance sensor nodes and multiple PZT-interfaces. To achieve the objective, the following approaches are implemented. Firstly, a PZT-interface is designed to monitor bolt loosening in bolted connection based on variation of electro-mechanical(EM) impedance signatures. Secondly, a wireless impedance sensor node is designed for autonomous, cost-efficient and multi-channel monitoring. For the sensor platform, Imote2 is selected on the basis of its high operating speed, low power requirement and large storage memory. Finally, the performance of the wireless sensor node and the PZT-interfaces is experimentally evaluated for a bolt-connection model Damage monitoring method using root mean square deviation(RMSD) index of EM impedance signatures is utilized to estimate the strength of the bolted joint.

  • A navigation sensor system for outdoor AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle) using AMR(Anisotropic Magnetoresitive) sensors is described. We derive a formula of the position of AMR sensor using the measured magnetic field intensity due to permanent magnet with constant distance. The system consists of sensor board. sensor control board and position processing board. The sensor board measures magnetic field intensity, the sensor control board controls the measurement of six sensors sequentially, and the position processing board computes the accurate position of the permanent magnet using Least Square Method. We arranged six sensors at intervals of 30cm and measured the position of the permanent magnet moving at intervals of 30cm. Experimental results showed that we can get standard deviation of 2mm and error of &\pm&4.5mm at a height of 20cm from the permanent magnet.

  • The sulfuric acid sulfonation mixtures of 2-aminonaphthalene, contained 2-aminonaphthalene, Dahl's acid, Broenner's acid, amino-F-acid and Baden acid, can be determined quantitatively by multicomponent spectrophotometric analysis. The analysis was performed in diluted sodium hydroxide aqueous solution and based on the ultraviolet absorption of the sodium salts of each isomers. The determination of quantity of each isomers was performed by subjection the absorbances of the unknown mixture and of its constituents, gathered at a large number of wavelengths, to a least square treatment by an electronic personer computer. This method provided a rapid analysis of such complex mixture, and the standard deviation was ${\pm}1.65$ mole %.

  • The three electrode system was used to detect the pesticide fenitrothion ($C_9H_{12}NO_5PS$. MW=277.24) using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). The working electrode was mercury immobilized on a carbon nanotube paste electrode (Hg-CNTPE). At the optimized condition, the limit of detection (LoD) was 0.6 ppt ($2.16{\times}10^{-12}\;M$), and the relative standard deviation was 0.035% (n=15). And there is more sensitive in detecting fenitrothion than common type carbon nanotube paste electrode. When it was implanted into the brain of live fish (carp), the existence of fenitrothion was measured without any destruction or damage of tissue.

  • Measurements of the three-dimensional water vapor distribution in the atmosphere are important for forecast and analysis of meteorological phenomenon. In this study, two Global Positioning System (GPS) campaign networks were installed in Jeju Island and Kangwon-do to construct the vertical water vapor profile solely based on GPS measurements. We implemented a layer model to get the wet refractivity profile and compared the result with radiosonde measurements. The result showed that the vertical profiles from GPS and radiosonde agree well. The bias, root-mean-square error (RMSE) and standard deviation of GPS wet refractivities compared with radiosonde measurements were in the range of 6.6~11.1 mm $km^{-1}$, 11.9~13.9 mm $km^{-1}$, and 4.3~12.3 mm $km^{-1}$, respectively.

  • Reverberation chamber have become a common tool in radiated susceptibility and emission testing of electronic equipment. In a reverberation chamber, internal electromagnetic fields are mixed by metallic stirrer. Due to elimination of Polarization characteristic in reverberation chamber, electromagnetic wave reached to EUT all aspect angle. Hence, Field distribution in overmode reverberation chamber can be presented by chi-square distribution. Field uniformity in reverberation chamber have to satisfy standard deviation below 3dB and is influenced by mechanical stirrer. This paper investigates relationship between change of stirrer parameter and field uniformity in reverberation chamber.

  • Accelerated degradation is concerned with models and data analyses for degradation of product performance over time at overstress and design conditions. Although there have been numerous studies with accelerated degradation theory in reliability, very few actually apply to parametric statistical analyses. This paper shows how to analyze degradation data, provides tests for how well the assumptions hold. Reel sensors, a sort of photointerrupters in home VCR, hive been tested, and least-square analyses are used to illustrate our approach. Tests for linearity of the performance-time relationship, dependence of the lognormal distribution, and the standard deviation on time are performed. The mean life of tested sensors is assessed at about 414,000 hours, and the Arrhenius activation energy of this reaction is concluded to be 0.39 eV as results.
