굽힘을 고려한 원형 및 정사각형컵 딥드로잉 공정의 탄소성 유한요소해석 (Elastic-Plastic Finite Element Analysis of Deep Drawings of Circular and Square Cups Considering Bending)

  • Both cylindrical cup drawing and square cup drawing are analyzed using membrane analysis as well as shell analysis by the elastic-plastic finite element method. An incremental formulation incorporating the effect of large deformation and normal anisotropy is used for the analysis of elastic-plastic non-steady deformation. The computed results are compared with the existing experimental results to show the validity of the analysis. Comparisons are made in the punch load and distribution of thickness strain between the membrane analysis and the shell analysis for both cylindrical and square cup drawing processes. In punch load, both analyses show very little difference and also show generally good agreement with the experiment. For the cylindrical cup deep drawing, the computed thickness strain of a membrane analysis, however, shows a wide difference with the experiment. In the shell analysis, the thickness strain shows good agrement with the experiment. For the square cup deep drawing, both membrane and shell analyses show a wide difference with experiment, this may be attributable to the ignorance of the shear deformation. Concludingly, it has been shown that the membrane approach shows a limitation for the deep drawing process in which the effect of bending is not negligible and more exact information on the thickness strain distribution is required.

  • The square cup drawing of magnesium alloy AZ31 $(aluminum\;3\%,\;Zinc\;1\%)$ sheets was studied by experimental approach in various temperatures (200, 250, 300, 350, $400^{\circ}C$) when blank holding force (BHF) was controlled in real-time. And so on, the drawability was measured with the different die and punch coating. The square cup drawing test was performed by three different coated punches (CrN, TiCN, Non-coated). BHF was set about 2.0 KN, forming speed was 50 mm/min, blank thickness were 0.5, 1.0mm and the cup size was 40 mm by 60 mm after forming. The experimental data of square cup drawing test show that the tools coating and temperature were effect on the drawbility.

  • Recently the use of ferritic stainless steels for automotive exhaust system has been increased dramatically. A detailed knowledge of material behavior of ferritic stainless steel is important for successful manufacturing of exhaust systems. To achieve this goal, numerical study of square cup deep drawing for ferritic stainless steel sheet, type 409L was conducted with Yld2000-24. Uniaxial tensile test and hydraulic bulge test were performed to characterize plastic material behavior. Finite element simulation of square cup deep drawing was performed successfully.

  • The wrinkling in the flange and wall of a part is a predominent failure mode in stamping of sheet metal parts. In many cases this wrinkling may be eliminated by appropriate control of the blank holding force(BHF), but BHF affects the draw depth. Although the wrinkles of flange have been made in the incipient stage of drawing, if the height of wrinkles is maintained under a prescribed limit by decrease or extinction of wrinkles in the course of drawing, small BHP can be allowed so that the depth of drawing could be increased. Authors research the variation of the wrinkles in flange in the course of square cup drawing by using aluminium A1015 and aluminium alloy A5052.

  • 본 연구에서 사용된 유한요소 방정식은 국부 질점좌표계(natural convected coordinate system)를 이용하여 변형을 묘사하는 대변형을 고려한 탄소성 증분 수식을 사용하였고, 국부 질점 좌표계를 사용함으로써 변형도 성분이나 구성 방정식의 성분들 에 대한 좌표 변환 과정을 생략할 수 있다. 재료는 수직 이방성으로 가정하였다.

  • In this study, it is investigated that the effect of material properties such as strength coefficient and strain hardening exponent on formability of AZ31 alloy sheet in square cup deep drawing process. Mechanical properties of AZ31 alloy sheet at elevated temperature $250^{\circ}C$ are obtained from uniaxial tensile tests and based on these results, a series of square cup deep drawing tests at the same temperature condition are carried out. Also, the possibilities of necking initiation is predicted by the FEM and FLD and compared with experimental results.

  • Magnesium alloy has low formability at room temperature and therefore, in many cases, forming at elevated temperatures is necessary to obtain the required material flow without failure. Tn the present study, square cup deep drawing tests using the magnesium alloy AE31 sheet were experimentally conducted using the porches and dies with different edge radius to evaluate the formability sensitivity to the die design variables. The experimental results showed that the fracture position over the cup wall moved from the punch nose to the flange as the die temperature increased, and that the drawing depth change was more affected by the punch radius than the die radius.
