This experiment was conducted in attempt of improving hydrodynamic efficiency of the propulsion mechanism by installing a spring to the wing so that the opening angle of the wing in one stroke can be changed automatically, compared to the existing method of fixed maximum opening angle in Weis-Fogh type ship propulsion mechanism. Average thrust coefficient was almost fixed with all velocity ratio with the prototype, but with the spring type, thrust coefficient increased sharply as velocity ratio increased. Average propulsive efficiency was larger with bigger opening angle in the prototype, but in the spring type, the one with smaller spring coefficient had larger value. In the range over 1.0 in velocity ratio where big thrust can be generated, spring type had more than twice of propulsive efficiency increase compared to the prototype.
A process for the concurrent welding and extruding of pipe was designed for continuous production of fin tubes. Unlike a conventional pipe extrusion, the new process is able to extrude a pipe continuously without limit of length by using spring type wire material. The current paper provides the basic research for welding during the extrusion using a spring type wire material. The object of the current study is to investigate the possibility that the spring type wire material could be extrude into a welded pipe. The appropriate extrusion ratio was selected through investigation of loads using computer simulations. As a result, experiments showed that pipe could be welded and simultaneously extruded with spring type wire material of aluminum. The tensile strength of the welded and extruded aluminum pipe can reach 80% of tensile strength of original aluminum feedstock.
The aim of this investigation was to identify which suing is more suitable for uprighting of the 30 degree inclined lower second molar in different situations. Between four different molar uprighting springs which were A, B, C type and T-loop spring, the author tested T-loop suing as a control material and the other springs were experimental group. Each spring was fabricated from .017' $\times$ .025' TMA wire and preactivated with 40 degree tip-back bend. Stabilizing unit included from the lower right central incisor to the lower right second premolar which were made by acrylic resin. The photoelastic overview of the lower right quadrant showed that stress concentrations were observed in its photoelastic model. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Higher concentration of compression can be seen clearly at the distal curvature than the mesial of the lower second molar when A type uprighting spring was applied, which can be used as a space regainer. 2. Higher level compression was presented at the mesial root apex area than the distal of the lower second molar in B type uprighting spring, which can be used as a space closer. 3. Areas of higher compression and tension were observed about the mesial and distal root of the lower second moalr than A and B type in C type uprighting spring, which can be used as a partial space regainer.

The objective of this study is structural analysis of rope brake by spring type. The finite element model was developed to compute the stress, strain and friction force for rope brake by spring type. The ANSYS code was used for this analysis. In order to structural analysis of rope brake, many variables such as internal pressure, boundary condition load condition and constraints were considered.

The influences of spring position and spring stiffness on the critical force of a cantilevered beam subjected to a follower force are investigated. The spring attatched to the beam is assumed to be a translational one and can be located at arbitrary positions of the beam as it has not been assumed so far. The effects of transeverse shear deformation and rotary intertia of the beam are also included in this analysis. The charateristic equation for the system is derived and a finite element model of the beam using local coordinates is formulated through extended Hamilton's principle. It is found that when the spring is located at position less than that of 0.5L, the flutter type instability only exists. It is shown that the spring position approaches to the free end of the beam from its midpoint, instability type is changed from flutter to divergence through the jump phenomina according to the increase of spring stiffness.
In order to obtain basic date for the cultivation and the breeding of double zero varieties of rapeseed, spring nature grade were investigated. Spring nature grade could be classified to 8 classes by the method of material maturity. The double zero varieties, Ⅶ group of spring adaptability has been developed from the cross "Oro" and "Midas" classified as summer type. A significant negative correlation was found between the spring adaptability and seed yield. On the other hand, a highly significant negative correlation was found between maturation and spring adaptability, cold resistnce and spring adaptability, plant from and spring adaptability. Ⅵ and Ⅶ group close to summer type showed spring growing adaptability, and 0, I and II group were appeared as winter type, autumn growing adaptability with cold tolerance.with cold tolerance.
Ballasted gravel will be damaged or worn by the repetitive train load. And these damages of ballast gravel could be increased by increasing vehicle speed. Therefore, various techniques for reducing the ballast pressure have been proposed, such as the attached pad type of sleeper bottom for ballasted track. In this study, spring stiffness test method were proposed to evaluate the performance of under sleeper pad for ballasted track. Standard ballast plate(SBP) was developed to simulate the ballast gravel and compared with the foreign test results. Experimental results showed a trend similar to the previous studies according to various loading plate type. specimen type(Type A, Type B) differences in spring stiffness according to hardness were not significant. Also, the FSP (Flat steel plate) - shaped jig is about 80% of the spring stiffness was greater than SBP. Therefore, to evaluate the actual spring stiffness of under sleeper pad for ballasted track, it was important to adopted the appropriate spring stiffness test method using the SBP to simulate actual field conditions.

This study purposes to elucidate the characteristics of local water quality and the evolutional process of the spring water have been studied with the samples from 55 selected springs, from the coast region to the Baegrogdam, a caldera lake of Halla mountain in Cheju Island. Results of hydrochemical analyses in the 55 spring water show that Gwaneumsa is pollued with high hydrogen concentration, and spring waters from Yusuarmchun, Jangsumul, Dukjisemmul, Sinch'onk'nmul, Youngchunsa, Woonyangchun, Harwontongmul, Dongheamul, Seakdalsengsu, Andukkyekok, Dotimul, Kinmul, Harkangmul and Jungkeummul are polluted by the pollution sources from the surface surrounding ground. Spring waters of Samyang3suwon, Meungbusa, Sernurungmul, Tosanmul, Jungkeummul, Kwakgimul, Aewolharmul, Konemul and Nokgomul are also polluted from the sea water intrusion. The electrical conductivity, pH and the concentration of nitrate nitrogen and bicarbonate increase when the precipitation increases, but the concentration of sodium, chloride and sulphate decrease when the precipitation increases. The concentrations of potassium, magnessium and calcium are nearly independent of the precipitaion. Quality characteristics of spring water show complicated group of spring water through piper's trilinear diagram. The high mountain region consists of groups of sodium or potassium type and bicarbonate type; the middle mountain region consists of groups of sodium or potassium type and no dominant type; the low mountain consists of groups of no dominant type and sulfate or nitrate type; the coast region consists of groups of sodium or potassium type and chloride type or no dominant type. These characteristics indicate that the spring waters are changed from bicarbonate type in the high and middle mountain regions into non-bicarbonate type in the coastal region, as the precipitated waters flow downslope.

This Paper deals with the design of Moving Magnet type Linear Oscillatory Actuator(MM-LOA) using spring damper based on the design procedure and the characteristic analysis. MM-LOA is applied to variable load such as vaccum pump and compressor, The structure of piston type is selected to reduce a noise. MM-LOA has over-displacement in starting state because of the low inertia of mover To improve the starting characteristic, spring damper is used. The optimum spring constant of spring damper is detected and in consideration of spring damper, MM-LOA redesigned. The parameter is calculated by Finite Element Method(FEM). For the dynamic characteristic analysis, time differential method composed of voltage and kinetic equation is used. The propriety of the improved model is verified through the experimental results.
