Clinical Consideration of Trigger Point Injection/Dry Needling Therapy: A Narrative Review

  • Myogenous temporomandibular disorder is a collective term for pathologic conditions of the masticatory muscles, mainly characterized by pain and dysfunction associated with various pathophysiological processes. Among the subtypes of myogenous temporomandibular disorder, myofascial pain is one of the most common muscle disorders, characterized by the presence of trigger points (TrPs). Various modalities, such as ultrasound, manipulative therapy, spray-and-stretch technique, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, injection/dry needling, and low-level laser therapy are used to inactivate TrPs. Needling/injection on the TrPs is one of the most common treatments for myofascial pain. Despite the evidence, there is continued controversy over defining the biological and clinical characteristics of TrPs and the efficacy of injection/dry needling. This review discusses the current concept of injection/needling to relieve TrPs.

프리웨팅 스프레이 공법용 모르타르의 성능평가 (Evaluation on Performance of Repair Mortar Used for Pre-wetting Spray Method)

  • 본 연구는 프리웨팅 스프레이 공법에 사용되는 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 성능을 평가한 것이다. 프리웨팅 스프레이 공법은 손상된 콘크리트 구조물을 보수하기 위한 것으로서 분진 및 리바운드 발생량을 줄이기 위해 분말재료에 미리 소량의 물을 첨가한 후 분사 직전에 노즐에서 정량의 물이 다시 혼합되어 분사되는 획기적인 보수 방식이다. 시험결과 프리웨팅 스프레이 공법에 사용되는 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르인 TS 100의 압축강도, 휨강도 및 부착강도 같은 물리 성능은 기존의 다른 보수용 모르타르에 비해 우수한 것으로 나타났으며, 또한 염소이온 침투저항성, 중성화 저항성, 내약품성 및 동결융해 저항성 같은 내구 성능도 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 문화재의 훼손은 다양한 형태로 발생된다. 특히 옥외에 노출되어 있는 금속문화재의 표면 손상은 인위적인 훼손인 페인트나 유성물질 성분의 낙서 등과 같은 행위로 유물의 역사적, 미술사적 가치를 저하시킨다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 친환경적이고 인체에 무해한 dry-ice pellet cleaning을 페인트 및 유성물질을 제거하는데 적용하였으며 결과를 습포법과 비교하였다. 실험 결과 습포법으로 제거할 경우 유성페인트는 제거는 되었으나 금속 표면에 얼룩이 남아 있었으며 락카 스프레이는 제거가 잘 이루어지지 않고 수지가 들떠 있는 현상이 나타났다. Dry-ice pellet cleaning으로 유성페인트를 제거한 경우 표면관찰, 색도계, FT-IR, SEM 분석을 통해 유물 표면에 손상 없이 깨끗하게 제거되었으며 락카 스프레이로 제거한 경우 육안 관찰로는 깨끗하였으나 SEM 관찰 결과 미세 입자가 표면에 남아있는 것이 관찰되었다. 그러므로 본 연구를 통해 dry-ice pellet cleaning의 대체 가능성과 한계성을 함께 확인할 수 있었다.

선박 대기오염 저감을 위한 벽면 캐비티 적용 습식 사이클론의 집진특성 (Collection characteristics of wet-type cyclone with wall cavity for air pollutants removal of marine diesel engines)

  • The main object of this study was to investigate the collection characteristics of wet-type cyclone with wall cavity. The experiment was executed to analyze the characteristics of pressure drop and collection efficiency for the present system with the experimental parameters such as water spray, water spray type, inlet velocity etc. In results, for the present system of wet-type, the pressure drop represented 35 mm $H_2O$, while in dry-type 33 mm $H_2O$ showing lower 6% at $v_{in}=21m/s$. In case of $v_{in}=21m/s$ and water spray 200 mL/min, the collection efficiency of the present system became significantly higher as 96.8% comparing to that of the conventional wet-type scrubber. Additionally, for 200 mL/min, $SO_2$ removal efficiencies decreased with the increment of inlet velocity representing 75.0, 62.5, 50.0%, at $v_{in}=6,9,12m/s$, respectively.

밀폐식 냉각탑용 열교환기의 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance of Heat Exchanger for Closed Cooling Tower)

  • An closed cooling tower is a device similar to a general cooling tower, but with cooling tower replaced by a heat exchanger. The purpose of this study is to evaluate thermal performance of heat exchanger at various conditions and to provide design datebase. The experimental study regarding heat exchanger for closed cooling tower was conducted. Experimental apparatus consists of constant temperature bath, water pump, spray nozzle, heat exchanger, fan, and date acquisition system. Heat transfer rates at various air velocitys, water flow rates, two different spray modes were measured and heat transfer coefficient were calculated to compare the thermal performances. This study provides that the heat transfer coefficient increases with increasing spray water flow rate and with increasing air velocity. The wet mode was more effective than dry mode for closed cooling tower to this study.

Effect of the Raw Material and Coating Process Conditions on the Densification of 8 wt% Y2O3-ZrO2 Thermal Barrier Coating by Atmospheric Plasma Spray

  • The 8 wt% yttria($Y_2O_3$) stabilized zirconia ($ZrO_2$), 8YSZ, a typical thermal barrier coating (TBC) for turbine systems, was fabricated under different starting powder conditions and coating parameters by atmospheric plasma spray (APS) coating process. Four different starting powders were prepared by conventional spray dry method with different additive and process parameter conditions. As a result, large- and small-size spherical-type particles and Donut-type particles were obtained. Dense structure of 8YSZ coating was produced when small size spherical-type or Donut-type particles were used. On the other hand, 8YSZ coating with a porous structure was formed from large-size spherical-type particles. Furthermore, a segmented coating structure with vertical cracks was observed after post heat treatment on the surface of dense structured coating by argon plasma flame at an appropriate gun distance and power condition.

쿨링 포그 시스템의 저압 안개 노즐 분무특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics of Low Pressure Fog Nozzles in Cooling Fog System)

  • Cooling fog is being used in various parts of society such as fine dust reduction, cleanliness, and temperature drop. Cooling fog has the advantage of low flow rate and ease of use compared to other spray systems. In the case of cooling fog, it was confirmed that the injection angle increased as the pressure increased and the nozzle diameter increased. In this study, the minimum injection angle was 33.61 degrees and the maximum injection angle was 107.38 degrees. It was confirmed that the larger the nozzle diameter and the smaller the pressure, the larger the droplet size. In addition, it was confirmed that the Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) increased along the X and Y axis directions. It was confirmed that the size of the droplet decreases as it approaches the nozzle tip due to the characteristics of the nozzle design factor.

Spray Dry한 ${\beta}$-SiC-$TiB_2$ 도전성(導電性) 세라믹 복합체(複合體)의 특성(特性) (Properties of ${\beta}$-SiC-$TiB_2$ Electrocondutive Ceramic Composites by Spray Dry)

  • The composites were fabricated respectively 61vol.% ${\beta}$-SiC and 39vol.% $TiB_2$ spray-dried powders with the liquid forming additives of 12wt% $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ by pressureless annealing at $1700^{\circ}C,\;1750^{\circ}C\;1800^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours. The result of phase analysis of composites by XRD revealed ${\alpha}$-SiC(6H), $TiB_2$, and YAG($Al_5Y_3O_{12}$) crystal phase. The relative density, the Young's modulus and fracture toughness showed respectively the highest value of 92.97%, 92.88Gpa and $4.4Mpa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ for composites by pressureless annealing temperature $1700^{\circ}C$ at room temperature. The electrical resistivity showed the lowest value of $8.09{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ for composite by pressureless annealing tempe rature $1700^{\circ}C$ at $25^{\circ}C$. The electrical resistivity of the SiC-$TiB_2$ composites was all positive temperature cofficient resistance (PTCR) in the temperature ranges from $25^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$.
