Sports and Geography: Exploration for Spatial Approach

  • Purpose: Sports is an activity created by human beings and is related with natural and human environments, and it is a physical activity which inherently interacts with geographical properties. With the above views, it is clear that sports reflect human culture and physical environment, which are closely related to places or spaces in terms of origin, propagation and diffusion, or geography in a broader sense. This study explored the relationships between sporting activities and geography with an environmental view. Research design, data, and methodology: The study employed qualitative methodology to review the association between sport and geographical perspective. The study reviewed the broad documents including journals, periodicals, reports and so forth. Results: First, since its inception in the 1960s, research on sports geography has been steadily studied in many international geography and non-geographic research journals. Second, it reflects the distinct characteristics of the relationship between sports and geography (relationship with physical geography and humanities). Third, as a spatial approach to sports, it is the place of sports, globalization of sports, and the tourist attraction of sports. Conclusion: the findings of this study provides insights for sport geography and could be applied to the current sports industry. Further implications were discussed.

근린 체육활동시설이 운동시간과 주관적 건강 수준에 미치는 영향 분석 - 국민생활체육참여실태조사(2013~2015) 자료를 중심으로 - (The Impacts of Neighborhood Sport Activity Facility on Exercise Time and Subjective Health Level - Focused on the National Sport Participation Survey (2013-2015) in Seoul, Korea -)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of neighborhood sports activity facilities on the exercise time and subjective health level using the National Sport Participation Survey data(2013-2015) in Seoul, Korea. We conducted path analysis including exercise time, subjective health level and various environmental factors. From the survey data, we extracted individual's characteristics including subjective health and exercise time. In addition, we calculated physical environment variables of neighborhood units. The results of this study are as follow. First, most of moderating variables such as gender, age, income and job showed expected relationships with exercise time or subjective health level. Second, the perceived level regarding neighborhood sports facilities such as public sports facilities had a strong positive association with exercise time and subjective health level. Third, the area of public sports facility, neighborhood park and the number of schools had positive effects on the exercise time and subjective health level. Lastly, land use mix and the number of intersections showed a positive effects on exercise time. To sum up, the results indicated that public sports facility, neighborhood park and perceived environment on neighborhood sports facility are critical factors of residents' exercise time and subjective health level.

The influence on participation in Dance Sports of female University Students and recognition of physical attraction and Importance of Physical attraction

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of female college students' participation in dance sports, perception of body attractiveness, and importance of body attractiveness. For this study, female university students residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeonnam region in 2019 were selected as the population. A total of 350 people were selected as the study subjects, but 170 dance sports participants and 130 non-participants were selected for the study, excluding 50 copies of double written and unfaithful data. After individually entering coded data into the computer, the statistical program (SPSS Windows.20.0 Version) was used. The results obtained through this research process are as follows. First of all, it was found that there was a difference in perception of body attractiveness depending on whether female university students participated in dance sports. Second, it was found that there was a difference in the importance of physical attractiveness depending on whether female college students participated in dance sports. Third, it was found that female college students' perception of body attractiveness has an effect on the importance of body attractiveness.

  • Purpose: This study seeks to address the following research questions: (1) What are the fundamental principles of sports psychology that can be applied to business leadership? (2) How can these principles enhance business leadership effectiveness? As a result, the study may evaluate the necessity and benefits of incorporating sports psychology principles into business leadership practices. Research design, data and methodology: The data collection process in this study involved a systematic Literature review approach, following the prior literature analysis guidelines by numerous past studies. This methodical approach to selecting articles can be useful in synthesizing existing literature and can be referred to as Literature review and selection. Results: The literature analysis has indicated that there is much support for assumptions underpinning business leadership modules, which can be enhanced by applying sports psychology. This topic discusses the traits of self-positivity and mental toughness, goal perspective and interpersonal relationships within a team, and visualization in a sporting organization that can be implemented in business management to support organizational performance. Conclusions: All in all, it can be concluded that organizations must consider adopting Sports Psychology principles into their Leadership Development Programs. User Matching System for Activating Sports Tourism Based on Hybrid App

  • In this paper, we propose a user matching app based on hybrid app and a utilization plan to promote sports tourism in line with the growing trend of sports industry scale. The proposed app categorizes sports facilities across the country into regional, sports, private and public sports facilities to support reservations and matching. The proposed app applied a matching system in which matching scores were given according to the preference of events, places, and users by user net matching algorithm. Users can enjoy sports as a team or individual through the suggestion app even if they do not have any clubs or friends to which they belong. It can be used to improve tourism content services and establish tourism industry policies by analyzing data generated while using a user matching system.

  • The Yellow River, one of the longest rivers in the world and the second longest river in the north of China, enjoys the reputation of "Mother River". In recent years, more and more researches have pointed to the traditional culture of the Yellow River Basin. The traditional sports of the Yellow River basin belong to the ancient culture of the Yellow River basin. We assume the responsibility in protection and inheritance. This paper from the coupling of tourism and traditional sports to unfold the study by using the methods of literature and data, logical analysis, expert interview methods and so on: 1. The development of tourism leads to the development of Chinese traditional sports. 2. Tourism can make traditional sports get around and promote them as a kind of culture. 3. Let more people know, understand and learn traditional sports culture in a comfortable way, so as to pave the way for the inheritance of traditional sports. The research results of this paper can provide theoretical basis for more research on the development and inheritance of traditional culture in the Yellow River Basin.

Influencing Factors of Consumption Willingness for E-Sports Products: A Case Study of "King of Glory" Game Players

  • This study examines the factors influencing e-sports product consumption among Chinese e-sports game players. We focus on the popular game "King of Glory" and use surveys to collect player data. Our findings show that e-sports product characteristics significantly impact consumption experiences, while incentive factors also influence consumption willingness. External factors have minimal impact. Additionally, souvenir products and festival events are key in driving e-sports consumption. This research explores the consumption willingness of Chinese e-sports players, the world's largest consumer market. Understanding their needs can help companies develop targeted marketing strategies, unlocking the commercial potential of e-sports and promoting industry growth.

Action Recognition Method in Sports Video Shear Based on Fish Swarm Algorithm

  • This research offers a sports video action recognition approach based on the fish swarm algorithm in light of the low accuracy of existing sports video action recognition methods. A modified fish swarm algorithm is proposed to construct invariant features and decrease the dimension of features. Based on this algorithm, local features and global features can be classified. The experimental findings on the typical sports action data set demonstrate that the key details of sports action can be successfully retained by the dimensionality-reduced fusion invariant characteristics. According to this research, the average recognition time of the proposed method for walking, running, squatting, sitting, and bending is less than 326 seconds, and the average recognition rate is higher than 94%. This proves that this method can significantly improve the performance and efficiency of online sports video motion recognition.

학생운동선수들의 자기관리와 스포츠대처의 관계 (Relationship between Self-management and Sports Coping of Student Athletes)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학생운동선수들의 자기관리와 스포츠 대처관계를 규명하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 대한 체육회에 등록된 서울, 인천 학생운동선수 446명을 대상으로 전국체육대회 참가 전 질문지를 이용하여 자료수집을 실시하였다. 자료수집을 위해 사용된 조사도구로는 운동선수 자기관리행동 질문지와 스포츠 대처척도 질문지를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 17.0을 이용하여 연구목적에 따라 t-검정, 요인분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째 학교급 간 자기관리와 스포츠대처행동에서 차이가 있었으며 대체로 대학선수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째 운동경력에 따른 자기관리와 스포츠대처행동은 운동경력이 높을수록 고유행동, 몸관리, 문제중심적 대처 능력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째 학생운동선수의 자기관리와 스포츠 대처행동의 관계는 회피를 제외한 나머지 요인에서 정적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 문제중심적 대처가 정신력, 고유행동관리, 훈련관리, 몸관리로부터 영향을 받고, 정서중심적 대처는 정신력관리, 생활관리, 고유행동관리, 훈련관리로부터 영향을 받았다. 이외에 생활관리가 초연에 영향을 끼치고, 정신력, 고유행동관리, 몸관리가 회피에 영향을 끼치고 있었다.

스포츠 4.0 시장 소비자의 온라인 소비성향 탐색: 생산 가능인구의 세대별 스포츠 용품 소비를 중심으로 (Exploring On-line Consumption Tendency of Sports 4.0 Market Consumer: Focused on Sports Goods Consumption by Generation of Working Age Population)

  • 본 연구는 생산 가능인구의 세대별 스포츠 용품 온라인 소비성향을 탐색하고, 스포츠 4.0 시장의 온라인 소비자를 세분화하여 미래의 소비 시장을 예측하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 했다. 따라서 생산 가능인구의 세대별 집단(Y세대 이상, Z세대) 중 스포츠 용품을 소비한 경험자를 대상으로 본 조사를 실시했으며, 총 478명의 자료를 최종 분석에 적용했다. 자료처리는 SPSS statistics(ver. 21.0)으로 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 재검사 신뢰도의 상관관계 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 의사결정 나무 분석을 실시했다. 생산 가능인구의 세대별에 따른 스포츠 용품 온라인 소비성향 탐색결과, 여유, 즐거움, 자아 상징, 가격 요인이 높을 경우와 자아 상징, 기능, 환경 친화 요인이 낮을 경우 Z세대 집단으로 분류될 확률이 크게 나타났으며, 여유 요인이 낮고, 자아 상징 요인이 높을 경우와 즐거운 요인이 낮고, 연대적 소비 요인이 높을 경우 Y세대 이상 집단으로 분류될 확률이 크게 나타났다. 또한 이와 같은 모형의 분류 정확도는 69.7%로 나타났다.
