  • The 3D(dimension) vritual reality(VR) has already been used in various sports fields, especially in the training of elite athletes. It is mainly used to maximize the effectiveness of image training, and the use of VR-based image training has received special attention as evidence-based pratices for its feasibility, practicality, and appropriateness. However, in recent years, the use of VR is no longer used only for the training of elite athletes, but is widely used in social sports. This is because, the advantage of exercise in VR is that it is highly stable and has fewer restrictions from the external environment. Considering these advantages, it can be used for the elderly physical activity. This study identifies and reviews studies applying VR-based image training. Several recommendations for the future study on VR-based image training for the older such as interdisciplinary approach to VR-based image training, support needs regarding characteristics of the older, and generalization and maintenance of acquired technology were discussed.

  • This study aimed to investigate the relationship between soccer games of Korea vs. Japan and emotions of anti-Japan and anti-Korea, empirically. For that, this study selected 2,400 comments from Naver and 5CH where people could write their SNS comments on EAFF E-1 football championship 2017. The study results got by frequency analysis and one-way ANOVA were as follows. First, Korean showed amity with own team and hostility to the opponents, and stronger hostility toward Japan. Japanese showed hostility to own team, and it was especially strong when vs. Korea. Second, Korean showed stronger hostility toward Japan than others. Japanese showed stronger hostility to own team when vs Korea. From those results, this study could conclude that soccer games of Korea vs. Japan could be a field to express those emotions rather than effect on the emotions of anti-Korea and anti-Japan. By the empirical method of this study on the emotions of anti-Japan and anti-Korea unlike advance studies, this could receive favorable evaluation.

  • Lots of interdisciplinary studies for fusion of high technologes and the other areas of research had been tried in these days. In sports training area, high technologies like a vital sign sensor or an accelerometer were adopted as training tools to improve the performance of the sports players. The purpose of this study is finding the proper locations on the human body for attaching the motion sensors in order to develop a smart sportswear which could be helpful in training players. The rowing was selected as a subject sport as lots of movements of the joint on human body could be seen in rowing motions. The players of rowing could be devided into two weight divisions, the lightweight and the heavyweight. In this study, the change rates of distance between markers on human skin as the players moved were took on the back, the elbow, the hip and the knee area on human body by 3D motion capturing system. The distances between markers and the differences between the lightweight and heavyweight were analyzed. Finally, this study provided the guide lines for designing a motion sensing smart sportswear.

  • In this study, changes and emotions that result from doing yoga and the influence of yoga on daily lives were investigated by using causal network. This information was gathered from interviews and outlined in a diagram form. By checking the daily participation records of 77 participants who took a yoga class as part of the cultural studies curriculum at H University, general factors related to change were extracted and then 7 participants were chosen for in-depth interviews. In the interviews, the changes experienced from doing yoga and the emotions caused by the change and the influence this change had on daily lives were documented and the collected results were displayed in a diagram using causal network according to the flow of questionnaire. As a result, the changes experienced through doing yoga were divided in 4 categories: physical function, emotional, cognitive and physiological changes. Each change and emotion caused by the change were shown to have an influence on daily lives. Through schematized causal network for each change, the changes and emotions which the participants experienced and the influence of yoga on daily lives could be checked. Based on the study results, the effect of yoga, the need for various approaches to examine the effect exercise has on emotions and the applicability of causal network that can be employed as a creative and effective quantitative data analysis method were discussed.
