This study is a review on the relationship between furniture purchasers and producers in the Joseon period. Understanding the relationships in our traditional spirit and the Joseon furniture that reflects a aesthetic sense is a meaningful work. Joseon was to build an ideal country which put emphasis on the order and harmony through Theory of 'Yeak' as the confucianism nation. Human aesthetics, which emphasis on the spiritual value by confirmity to nature and forcus on the relaxed, deficient personality rather than completeness was established as the central formative consciousness of the Joseon Dynasty. The nature of things in the confucian scholar prior to the representations of things is expressed in the form of master craftsman's skill and soul. Formative consciousness of the confucian scholar is to realize ideals by communciation and interchange with master craftsman's soul in the form of the Joseon furniture. The beauty of restraint and brevity in the Joseon Dynasty furniture includes meanings and procedures of art work. It implies an orderer's purpose of production and a producer's products. Understanding the spirit of times in the production becomes the cornerstone capable of getting closer to the furniture ultimate proper function. These problems have a very close relationship with the problems of modern people's commnuication. We expect an even higher growth of the furniture by achieving more improved communication based on the consumer's great insight and the producer's passion.

As a study on a traditional garden with historical value, the objective of this study is to comprehensively understand the internal meanings of the garden in a designer's personal perspective. Tasanchodangwon was designed Chung Yakyong who is a scholar of Practical Learning in late Chosun Dynasty. Considering the features of him and basic approach of this study, the internal eanings of the Tasanchodangwon was approached with the focus on the view of nature of him, and through general review of physical components of the garden. Additionally the meanings of the garden were also reviewed in his personal situation. The result of the study may be summarized as followings. First, according to the view of nature of Chung Yakyong, his intention to enrich life practically by building separate structures for education for his residence, creating lake by having water supply, and creating vegetable garden relates with the view of nature in Primary confucianistic perspective. In addition, the place served as a ground to support Chung Yakyong's attitude to become a man of virtue, Second, his preference to enjoyu tea culture allowed an opportunity for him to accept circumstance positively and discover the self. Components related to farming reflects his Practical Learning. The man-made rock mountain in the pond is a specific technique for Yi-Jing. And third, literatures authored by Chung Yakyong show that internal meaning of Tasanchodangwon is to pursue an utopia. This is closely related to solving his conflicts felt in reality. In short, Tasanchodangwon is a form reflecting the spiritual world of Chung Yakyong, and through interaction with his life, served as a ground to culture his mind.

The purpose of this study is to shed light on the field dynamics of 'lived space' in the light of our intuitive experiential contents by way of investigating three properties of space. While finding inspirations in the field theory of modern physics, investigation of our intuitive responses to the physical and spatial environment leads us to a coherent view of matter and space. We find then that our lived world is more than a system of inert matter; it is a dynamic environment of life in which feeling and mood, spiritual meaning and value, are perpetually infused with matter. Any concept of space, if it is to be meaningful to lift has to somehow acknowledge this fact. Empty space and matter cannot be conceived as mutually exclusive and independent as in classical physics. Rather they should be seen as two different manifestations of an underlying dynamism which permeates the world. The 'properties' of space can only be understood in terms of the 'impact' of material presence. The object cannot be seen as an isolated entity, but the 'conditioning' of its surrounding space has to be understood as an integral part of its being. Lived space can thus be viewed as an emotionally charged field, or a field of emotional energy, whose properties may be described in terms of concentration, mobility and resonance.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to meta-analyze the relationships of major concepts, which were made by synthesizing similar explanatory variables into more comprehensive concepts, to hope. Method: The relevant researches from Jan 1980 to Dec 2003, performed in adults or adult patients, were collected. Using the SAS program, meta-analysis were done with the input data of the number of subjects, the correlation coefficients provided from most of the studies or a few transformed correlation coefficients from F value. In order to get the analysis to be done in homogeneous status of the data regarding each relationship of each major concept to hope(p> 0.05), heterogeneous data were eliminated in repeating Q-test. Result: The major variable regarding relationship to self/transcendental being/life(spiritual wellbeing & self esteem) and social support(social support & family support) have very large positive effects on hope(D=l.72, D=l.27). The negative effect of the variable regarding captive state(uncertainty in illness, perceived unhealthiness status, & fatigue) and positive effect of coping(approach coping) on hope are in the level between moderate to large(D=-0.61, D=0.78). All the effects of the major concepts on hope were verified as significant statistically(p=.000). The Fail -Safe numbers showed the significant effects of the three major concepts except coping on hope were reliable. Conclusion: The results can be a guide to advance hope theory for nursing.

This study was intended to analyze the con-cept of unconsciousness of Surrealism on the fabric of modern fashion. Surrealism had been searching for a new way of confronting a social and artistic en-vironment that was stifling and repugnant to them. Especially the surrealistic methodology was changed into various methods of surreal-istic painters, They explored the world of subconsciousness of uncosciousness in the world of human being. The highly developed material civilization resulted in human alienations environmental disruption. By this fact human being of the 20th century was sought a philosophical and artistic value to overcome social disease. That is their search for spiritual world was interested in surrealist's psychoanalytical method. The fashion in the 20th century is changing rapidly for the new century to come. Under such circumstances as these modern fashion is attempted to pursue new innovative and in-dividual ideas. recently the mental images through Surrealism was represented in the for-mative feature of modern fashion. To study the concept of unconsciousness of Surrealism on the fabric of modern fashion I selected and examined artistic books and fashion magazines. As a result of this review I found that some fabrics used in modern fashion are printed in a free shapes without any meaning or form.

This study aims to examine current status of cultural products in Mokpo city and their problems and develop cultural products design suitable to this situation. Cultural products in Mokpo sold here are made from China and have lower quality or traditional crafts and folkcrafts which can be purchased anywhere in Korea and they are not enough to show identity or image of Mokpo city. So I mixed the logos of 'mokpo city' and 'national maritime museum' based on main motive of 'modern Korean ship and shipbuilding tools' held by 'National Maritime Museum' and 'Goebukseon (turtle ship)' and 'Hanseon' which are suitable to the image of maritime culture as cultural products advocated by Mokpo city and developed one design style for print. This design is applied to T-shirts, necktie, cap, cushion and mug. Silk print, transfer print and needlework techniques are applied to each item and the whole cultural products have design of set concept. It is a case of applying modern product marketing technique to our cultural products not a design for only one item, is aimed to recreate spiritual and cultural value that a region has as daily goods to be used by general consumers and show the chance and possibility to complement shortcomings of existing cultural products and develop traditional culture having locality.

Fashion style in movies delivers their image the atmosphere and becomes the means for containing the personality, spiritual world and inner thinking the characters in the movies and including its plot. When the American new cinema emerged in late 1960's and early 1970's in the American movie history, the new left wing which wants to overturn adult generation and the hippie culture which wants to escape from an existing system also emerged. Therefore, this study analyzed the fashion style in the movie 'Easy Rider (1969)', i.e. the representative new American movie which showed the isolation from adult generation and negative realities of the American society. From the movie, we can understand the young generation after the Vietnam war, i.e. baby boom generation, pursued the hippie culture as their young culture. With their strong self-consciousness, they formed their own lifestyle and values which are different from those of adult generation, and we can understand clothes were used as a tool to express their value system.

The Purpose of this study was to review the effects of the cyberspace mentality on fashion as a visible symbol of feminity and to analyze terms of its aesthetic values. As for the research methodology, relevant theories across cultures and disciplines are reviewed and an experimental study is conducted to explore spiritual objectives in cyberspace. Then, major issues facing the digital society. symbolized in the computer networks, are reviewed in terms of feminine identity and physical beauty from a feminist＇s viewpoint. Lastly, the aesthetic values found in the spatial meditation of a new dimension (reality versus virtuality) is comparatively analyzed. The virual reality technology and bio-medical technology are combined to be represented in fashion to create a more realistic virtual world than the real one. Such a world may well be characterized by virtuality, artificiality, masquerade, and fantasy. The intrinsic values which are revealed as psychiatrical or psychological implicated values featuring virtual or artificial implications may well be characterized by distopia, hyper, hybridity and Sur Reality.

The Korean tea culture appeared in a variety of ceremonies of the royal household. It was a method of religion for scholars and Buddhist monks, and sometimes it also was a refinement, too. in addition, it played an important role as a household medicine for the common people. As mentioned above, the Korean tea culture has a deep-rooted effect on the Korean traditional culture from the spiritual aspect, art, learning, to the practical life. Recently the tea culture has been rapidly coming into vogue. So the tea culture has been recognised not only to be an index of the cultural level, but also to be an important cultural phenomenon. Besides, It came to be a major role as a reception method by which we can communicate with quests from ail over the world. Because preferred tea was different according to the times and to the regions, tea utensils have been changed along with the tea culture. The present Korean tea culture has a tendency to go to the somewhat different way from the traditional one. This study has the purpose to let us apprehend the Korean traditional culture and hold the national pride. In addition, the value of the Tea should be assessed more properly, and our own Tea that is unique, simple, and natural, should be settled in the our culture.

In this study, I investigate the literary features and educational values of spoken travelogues by analyzing a travelogue about the Diamond Mountains by a farmer named Im, Chul-ho, a very interesting travelogue told for 70 minutes. It seems to have educational significance as a wonderful piece of literary work. The literary features of this tale can be summarized as follows. (1) It is truly 'literature of reality' which fully brings out literary appreciation; It evokes interest and emotional tension on the part of audience through vivid verbal embodiment of personal experiences; (2) It is a well constructed big story embedding small stories within it. The stories from many different travel points emerge into a whole unified story making it much richer and more attractive; and (3) It truly reflects the experiences and emotions of ordinary people. As such, it can be regarded as their spiritual property. In addition, spoken travelogues could be valuable as an object in literature education. It needs to be included in the literature curriculum and treated in the same way as written travelogues. With strengths as instructional materials, it could be effectively used to improve students' ability to express their daily experiences with literary sensibility and to make them better understand the lives of ordinary people in the past.
