소형-고속 스핀들의 반경방향 오차분석 방법 (Analysis of radial error motion in a small-sized and high-speed spindle)

  • In this paper, an efficient method is proposed to analyze the radial error of a miniaturized-high speed spindle system. Initially, a device is constructed for measuring the radial error motion using capacitance sensors. The capacitance sensors are placed perpendicular to the axis of the shaft and at 90o to each other. The spindle is rotated at high speed and the profile of the spindle is recorded. An algorithm is developed for analyzing the spindle data and determining the radial error of spindle. The present algorithm uses homogeneous transform matrix (HTM) method and iterative process for determining the radial error. The analysis procedure is performed for different speeds of the spindle. The data obtained from the present system and the results of evaluation are also presented in this paper. It is observed that this method is effective in determining and analyzing the spindle errors for high speed miniaturized spindle.

  • This paper describes action of synchronous error between z axis and spindle axis on rigid tapping. Because rigid tapping cuts the threads synchronizing the movement of z axis to spindle rotation, synchronous error between z axis and spindle is very important. Increase of synchronous error degrades the accuracy of thread and crushes the tap in worst case. So we developed the realtime measurement system of synchronous error in order to know the action of synchronous error on rigid tapping. In result, we have known that synchronous error was increased according to rise of spindle speed and z axis speed. And because the cutting torque(M3-30Ncm∼M10-300Ncm) on rigid tapping are less than maximum motor torque(3500Ncm), it specially doesn't affect the synchronous error. The most important parameter which has affected the increase of synchronous error was acceleration/deceleration time. On worst case, spindle motor was tripped because of the excess of synchronous error. Because the acceleration/deceleration time ocuupies the most of the total cutting time, in order to move on the high speed rigid tapping, the acceleration/deceleration time of spindle must be remarkably reduced.

  • In this paper, the machining characteristics of high speed ball end milling affected by the rotational error of high speed spindle using air bearing are investigated. The error motions of a spindle have generally influenced on the surface roughness, the form accuracy, the tool life, etc. in end milling. Experiments are carried out over a wide range of rotational speeds(10,000-50,000rpm). The rotational errors of the spindle are measured by the gap sensor mounted on the spindle shaft at various cutting speeds. The relations between the surface roughness and the spindle error motion are presented. Results show that the rotational accuracy of the spindle directly affects the surface roughness of the machined surface.

  • This paper proposes the thermal characteristics of motor integrated spindle on high precision lathe and investigates the thermal deformation and the running error of spindle. The deformation and the running error of spindle shaft are continuously measured by the gapsensor mounted on machine. The temperature distribution is measured bythe thermal vision system and the thermocouple. The results show that the running error of spindle is dependent on the rotational speed and the thermal deformation.

  • The error motion of a machine tool spindle directly affects the surface errors of machined parts. Spindle motion errors such as three translational motions and two rotational motions are undesirable. These are usually due to the imperfectness of bearings, stiffness of spindle, assembly errors, and external force or unbalance of rotors. The error motions of the spindle need to be reduced for achieving the desired performance. Therefore, the level of error motion needs to be estimated during the design and assembly process of the spindle. In this study, an estimation method for five degree-of-freedom (5 DOF) error motions for a spindle with an angular contact ball bearing is suggested. To estimate the error motions of the spindle, the waviness of the inner-race of bearings and an external force model were used as input data. The estimation model considers the geometric relationship and force equilibrium of the five DOFs. To calculate the error motions of the spindle, not only the imperfections of the shaft and bearings but also driving elements such as belt pulley and direct driving motor systems are considered.

  • 본 연구에서는 최신형 슬란트베드(slant-bed)타입의 중절삭용 NC선반주축을 대상으로 하여, 구동방식의 변경-기어변속장치를 주축으로부터 완전히 분리시키고 V벨 트에 의해 구동되는 후로팅방식의 새로운 주촉구조를 설계-을 통하여 고속에서의 주축 의 회전성능 향상을 시도하였고, 실험을 통하여 그 회전성능을 전형적인 3개의 서로 다른 재래식 선반주축모델들의 값과 비교 고찰하였다.

  • The error motion of a machine tool spindle directly affects the surface errors of machined parts. The error motions of the spindle are not desired errors in the three linear direction motions and two rotating motions. Those are usually due to the imperfect of bearings, stiffness of spindle, assembly errors, external force or unbalance of rotors. The error motions of the spindle have been needed to be decreased to desired goal of spindle's performance. The level of error motion is needed to be estimated during the design and assembly process of the spindle. In this paper, the estimation method for the five degree of freedom (5 D.O.F) error motions of the spindle is suggested. To estimate the error motions of the spindle, waviness of shaft and bearings, external force model was used as input data. And, the estimation models are considering geometric relationship and force equilibrium of the five degree of the freedom. To calculate error motions of the spindle, not only imperfection of the shaft, bearings, such as rolling element bearing, hydrostatic bearing, and aerostatic bearing, but also driving elements such as worm, pulley, and direct driving motor systems, were considered.

  • This paper presents reducing method of profile error on a mechanical tuning for multi-spindle control of NC machine tools. To reduce the profile error in the feed drive system, it is useful to adopt same transfer function of multi spindle machine tools. By selecting the correction vector of servo rigidity and natural vibration on JK map, multi spindle control can be tuned by mechanical parameters with small profile error.

  • Spindle state monitoring is getting more and more important according to the technology trend of spindle that is accurate and automated. Spindle state monitoring is to measure the state of rotation vibrations. The spindle rotation error motion detected by sensing device includes rotation object's unbalance, external forced vibrations, shape error of spindle, as well as measuring error of monitoring device. In this paper, we have inspected the runout characteristics. Also, we introduce the way to exclude the runout element that appear while you monitor a spindle state.
